What you'll do

We will tour my small farm, called Triple H Farm. The farm is a certified wildlife habitat, we will learn what it took to earn that title. We will see immature apple trees, a peach tree, oak trees , cedar trees, immature hazelnut trees, an apricot tree, lavender, newly planted elderberry bushes, and the rhododendrons and hydrangeas. There are wild blackberries and the garden is being planted. If we are fortunate we may see wild turkeys, rabbits and we always see squirrels. A brief talk about goat breeds and what people use goats for will be followed by the goats Stella, Bella and Edward eating food from our hands. They love oak leaves and pine needles. For goat treats they will come when called. Everyone will have treats to offer the goats. You may even try to milk a goat. Get a ribbon for giving it a try. We will see the chickens and learn about the breeds kept here on the farm. There will be a chance to feed them snacks and collect eggs. At the end I will introduce you to Dylan, the Border Collie puppy. He will be learning to herd goats in the future. There will be ample opportunity for picture taking and a demonstration of how goat milk soap is made. Everybody leaves with a sample of soap.
Other things to note
The experience is held rain or shine so come with an umbrella. Wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes that can get dirty.

I have loved farming, goats, dogs and chickens for many years. I have worked on local farms and tended many different animals: goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, cows and horses. I have three wonderful goats named Stella, Bella and Eddie. Unfortunately Bella and Stella did not kid this year. Bella has milk so we will be milking her. I train my goats and they love to follow me. They even come when you call them for a treat. I am also able to make goat milk soap, cheese, butter and cajehta (a type of dulce de Leche) from goat's milk. I love to show off the farm to children. Our small farm also has immature apple trees, a peach tree and flowers. There are laying hens with more chickens arriving soon. They are now laying eggs and enjoying life on the farm.

Where you'll be

The location is a small farm on Cape Cod, named Triple H Farm. We have goats, chickens and gardens in season. The guests will get to experience feeding, brushing, and milking the goats. They also will be able to collect chicken eggs

They will also have a lesson in making soap. My soap is made from four ingredients. Olive oil, coconut oil, goat milk and lye. There are no artificial dyes or scents added. It is wonderful for sensitive skin.

What a cool experience! Maureen was a lovely host and gave us a glimpse of her life taking care of the animals, and her property. It was a great example of how someone can create so many passion projects at home. The goats were very friendly and taken good care of. They accompanied us on our tour of the property. Highly recommend!

Maureen and her goats was super fun. I loved the part where we watched her make soap and she showed us pictures of her farm. We learned how to make soap and had a few laughs.

We had such a lovely experience with Maureen. What a great way to spend an afternoon with the kids doing something new and interesting. Maureen’s goats stole the show and our kids (and we) were delighted. Our 7 yo absolutely loved milking the goats and making soap using goat’s milk!

This is a lot of fun. The goats have so much personality and the soap making process was fascinating to watch. Our 10 and 13 year old both had a great time.

We took our 16mo twins as they love goats. They got to pet them. The soap we received at the end is also great.

Great family fun at a small farm with fun animals, interesting plants and landscape. We really enjoyed making goats milk soap and feeding the goats and chickens. Special props for the wild turkeys walking through the farm.
