We both enjoyed the short tour and in-depth insights about Willa Cather's inspiration for her book and her time in Santa Fe, in particular, and New Mexico, in particular. We learned a lot, and most importantly, as we viewed the archival photos Garrett showed us and the letters we read, we were transported into her time. This tour confirmed to us how creatively Willa Cather navigated the complex local history, giving us an epic story, "Death Comes to the Archbishop, " that weaves in anecdotes inspired by people she met during her numerous visits to the Southwest.
We highly recommend Garrett, his tour, and his book, "The Bright Edges of the World."
