What you'll do

Special discount during Spring Festival because some restaurants are not open. Click the date to check out the price. Since the tour was launched in June 2018, I've designed various food tours, each featuring about 7 kinds of local foods or drinks such as steamed rolls, wonton noodles, fried wonton, claypot rice, chicken soup in a coconut, traditional Cantonese herble tea, waterchestnut drink and so on. All the restaurants we visit are small but locally famous. Some of them are even on the Michelin recommendation list. Besides food, we will visit an century-old local market to see the fresh and special ingredients that tourists, especially foreigners, have never thought about. What's more, we will visit the oldest part of the biggest Chinese medicine market in China and walk through some 100-year-old alleys hidden in the city centre, which are seldom known even to the local. I am a truely local and know about 45 small but old and good local food stores or restaurants in the oldest area of Guangzhou. That is what I want you to experience. If the time set for the tour is not convenient for you, please don't hesitate to send me messages to let me know. I will try my best to adjust the time.

Maldini

I'm a 31 years old local, born and raised in Guangzhou—so called "aborigine". I love my city, especially the foods. I majored in tourism management during college time because I like learning about different cultures and meeting people from various backgrouds by travelling. But now I'm working as a English teacher, which makes me able to show my city to foreign visitors in fluent English. My city is famous for various food, so I'm eager to lead you to taste the authentic Cantonese local food in the small alleys in the old part of Guangzhou, where I've been living for more than 30 years.
