What you'll do

Horse riding, paella & local wine tasting

After a welcome coffee to our XV century old house, we'll go downstairs to the stables to brush and saddle up the horses, and then we'll ride for about two hours across the silent, ancient landscape of Segarra, the Catalan Tuscany, on our way to some small medieval Catalan village. Wheat and barley fields, organic wineyards, old almond and olive trees, hills and slopes furrowed by ancient dry stone walls and incredible views will melt before your sight. Don’t worry if you’ve never ridden before, you'll be a small group so we will be on hand to help, instruct and support you. After riding you can explore our small village and go up to the XI century watchtower to see the amazing views. Then we will cook and share a traditional paella in our garden made with homegrown and very local products, while we talk about life and passions. And, from May to October, you can also swim in our natural pool. So don't miss your swimsuit!

I'm an expert Catalan equestrian guide and beekeeper, lover of history and nature. I was born and grew up in Barcelona, but I spent all summers of my childhood in a small village with my grandpas, where I learnt a lot about animals and nature. That's why fifteen years ago I decided to follow my heart and move to a medieval manor house in Segarra region to spend all my time to be with horses and farmers, which have always been my passion. Now I'd like to share my dream came true with you all.

My family travels a fair amount, and my daughter and I both said this was one of our favorite experiences yet! David was personable, totally welcoming, and just a delight to be around. The horses are wonderful, and the village (and rest of the experience) is so unique! The paella was delicious!

This was an awesome experience. David was so warm and welcoming. The ride through the countryside was beautiful and the horses all had their own unique personalities which was quite fun to figure out. Lunch was delicious.

This was indeed the highlight of our trip to Barcelona! Well worth the bus ride out there. David truly loves his horses and treats them very well. He has a passion for everything Catalonia!

David was a great host and we learned so much about his culture and how to handle horses. His home is incredible with so much history and the local wine and Paella was delicious. The ride was so unique and amazing to be able to see the country side. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Barcelona (or the area).

This is possibly the best travel adventure I have ever had. As a horse lover and riding enthusiast, I got my fill during the day with David and his horses. You can tell David is an expert at this and his passion for his farm and horses shows in everything he does. He asked each of us about our riding experience while driving us to his home, and already had a plan in place for what horses to give to us. His home is lovely and he pointed out many interesting things about his medieval village. We got know his sweet cats and gorgeous, well-trained horses, before the ride. The ride was phenomenal and panoramic! My horse Condor was the most special horse I have ever ridden and I didn’t want to leave him. At the end of the ride, we climbed the tall watch tower for some sweeping views as David made us delicious salad, paella, and dessert. We talked about life stories and drank wine from his village. It was a truly special day from start to finish and I already want to go back! Thank you so much, David and Condor, for making my experience so amazing!
