About your host

We live in the Dordogne Valley and love to go for walks with Wallace, our friendly pet goat. You can stay at our 17th century watermill or just come for a walk along the river between May and October. My co-host, Simon, worked for the BBC and makes films about history and science.

What we’ll do

Explore the beautiful Dordogne Valley with me, a local resident, plus the goat, Wallace. I will walk for about seven miles along the riverbank, which is mainly flat with some gentle hills. We'll walk past a fisherman's hut, ancient washing place, a limestone mine, Jurassic spring water, and explore the stories of a World War II battle on a local bridge.

What else you should know

Contact us to confirm dates and times. This is about a two-hour walk at weekends. This walk won't take place in the rain or if the goat is ill. See you soon—let's go "Walking with Wallace."

What to bring

walking shoes and your camera (Wallace likes an apple and you might need a bottle of water to drink)
