What you'll do
I am going to pick you up in front of Himeji Castle or JR Himeji station and then let's go to buy one kind of fish for each person to make sushi to local fish shop. Feel the daily life of Japan at a local fish shop. I think you will be able to see the fishmonger cut the fish. Then we go back to my kitchen, start cooking togather. First of all we make a soup stock 'Dashi'. We use the 'Dashi' to make tempura sauce and soup. After that, make the main dish sushi and tempura and have a delicious meal which you make!! Nothing tastes better than that which you have made with your own hands. I think you will find very interesting how to make 'UMAMI DASHI STOCK from kelp and dried bonitto. I will introduce you not only to Japanese cooking, but also the unique utensils and seasonings we use to make it. I also try to introduce you to some Japanese culture and customs along the way to enhance your experience. I will also provide you the recipe so you can try making these dishes in the comfort of your own homes. I encourage you to invite your family and friends and enjoy healthy and delicious Japanese food and spread the word. (Please understand fishi shop will be closed on Sun and bad weather, and in the evening they might sold out.)
