A bee flew into my ear one summer and told me that she needed help and I should become a beekeeper. So I started reading books and did plenty of research on apis mellifera aka the honey bee. I caught and lured feral hives out in the wild urban jungle of L.A. I consider this to be an ancient and spiritual practice which I am truly grateful to have chosen me in this precious lifetime.

What we’ll do
Learn the basics and philosophy of backyard beekeeping. We will first go over safety precautions, how to safely use a hive tool and smoker. You will have the opportunity to inspect hives with varying degrees of temperaments and colony health. You will learn about how bees communicate by doing the waggle dance. Learn about the different stages of their life, from egg to larvae, to nurse bees, scou…
What else you should know
Please bring your camera and extra water on hot days. Please wear lite color clothing, lose long pants, closed toed shoes and long socks. Do not wear heavy perfumes or shampoos. Text me upon arrival.
