How did a city develop at 9300' altitude in the Andes?? Estefano explains the ancient to modern history of this fascinating Incan city. Not your standard "construction story" of edifices but insights into the overall development of San Francisco de Quito. 100% hit the mark for what we wanted and enjoy. Be prepared to walk uphill for a block or two. LOVED THIS TOUR.

Wow. What an amazing tour. If you only have time for one thing in Quito: DO THIS. This walking tour highlights the presence of pre-Contact societies (including the Inka) in Ecuador. Estéfano is incredibly knowledge about archaeology and history--and he even provided lots of suggestions for what to do and where to stay in Ecuador! I will always treasure this experience.
Also: I went as a solo traveler and had a wonderful time, but I highly recommend this for families and couples!
