During a family reunion in the mountains of north Georgia, five of us (including pre-teen children) were blessed to visit Sheen’s farm. What we encountered far exceeded our expectations. On her 50 acre farm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Sheen has created a marvelous animal sanctuary with a wide array of animals, many having been rescued and nursed back to health through Sheen’s loving care.
Upon entering the property, we were greeted by her four Great Pyrenees dogs and a few miniature horses. Then began a tour of the farm, including time with Sheen’s very affectionate llamas, then a wide array of birds, some cattle and many others.
Throughout the duration of the tour, Sheen gave us a wonderful talk concerning the history of the farm, the challenges and blessings of each of the animal types, and her plans for the future development of the sanctuary.
We will long remember our tour, and are grateful for the opportunity.
Everyone loved it! We hope to return!
