What you'll do

We will meet at the Eco Living Shop where I will show you my workshop as well as some of the tools I use to make Bee Boxes and process the Bees wax. We will then proceed to the "Bee Nursery" where I will discuss how I raise Bees as well as how I manage them at the "Bee Nursery". We will then travel to a few locations where I have the Bees. I will point out the different flora in the area that may affect the flavor of the honey. Some of the locations are residential so you may also meet some of the locals that help host my Bee Hives. We will gather some honey at the different locations and do a tasting back at the "Bee Nursery". You will also be able to see and purchase some of the products that we make from what the Bees provide us.
Other things to note
I will have water available for drinking. Please be aware that Aruba is a very warm climate so expect to sweat a bit. Bring a towel with you in case you want to jump in the ocean for a swim to cool off.

I am a local Bee Keeper on the island of Aruba! I don't just keep Bees but I also build my own Bee Boxes, my own Bee stands and I also make products from what the Bees provide such as Wax Wraps and Soap. I am a Chef by trade and began to ask questions about where my food comes from. This lead me to Bees. I began my journey with Bee Keeping like most everyone else, with a single Bee Hive. I got more and more fascinated but new that importing Bee Hives to Aruba is expensive so I decided to teach myself how to build Bee Hives. I now manage Hives around the island, including the Dutch Marine Base. My goal is to put as many Bee Hives around the island as possible and to also make products from what the Bees provide to me.

Where you'll be

We will start in the area of Pos Abao at the workshop as well as store. We will then proceed to the area of Gasparito, that is where the "Bee Nursery" is located. Gasparito is not only a historical location but also has a small family restaurant that serves traditional food on the property. We will then go to 1 other location that have my hives. The locations we visit will vary depending on the nectar flow as well as honey production.

Daniel was awesome! he is really enthusiastic and will take the time to explain what it's like to be a beekeeper and will answer all your bee related questions. We got to see two of his hives, and he let us handle the honeycomb and even try the delicious honey. I would definitely reccomend this experience to anyone visiting Aruba!!

Daniel's passion for beekeeping is quite a sight to behold. He is very knowledgeable and answered all the questions my wife and I had. Once you and Daniel start the journey and visit one beehive after the other you'll see why this is such a wonderful thing to experience. From tasting the honey straight from the hive, putting on the beekeeping suits and braving the swarm to listening to Dan tell you how he got started there's just so much you get from this. Plus, he gave us some homemade soap! Anyway, stop reading, try something new and just book it. You will not be disappointed.

A truly memorable experience, and certainly one the best moments I had in Aruba during my 6 days there. Was lucky to be the only one during this tour, and Daniel did a fantastic job explaining everything bee related, how he got involved, and his story. I asked a ton of questions - turns out bees are pretty cool. beekeeping is not only a science, but an art that Daniel is passionate about. I got to taste very unique honey and I left with handmade boutique charcoal soap too. I highly recommend to anyone considering this. thanks for the awesome experience!

Amazing experience! Super informative if you're looking for learning anything about the ecosystem in Aruba or bees in general. It was such a unique opportunity outside the normal tourist attractions.

Loved this experience! So incredibly unique, and scooping honey right off the hives to taste the different flavors was incredible. Daniel is also so knowledgeable. Would totally recommend!

This bee experience is a once in a lifetime experience! Given that I’ve avoided bees my entire life, I was a bit nervous going into this but I felt safe and comfortable the whole time. Daniel was such a great host! He was very informative and gladly answered questions we had. He was also very generous and let us try honey straight from the hives and gave us some soaps from his shop. Daniel also offered to drive us back to our condo since we didn’t have a car which saved us a lot of trouble! I highly recommend this to anyone, regardless of how interested they are in bees!
