About your host

What we’ll do

First, we will judge from your experience where to begin and team you up with the appropriate expert and translator. Our general basketry introduction uses a miniature rattan but if you prefer experience in another medium, you can let us know that as well. We do bamboo, water hyacinth, banana leaf and many more. Teaching will be in 3-4 hour increments with water and overhead fan provided,…

What else you should know

Booking basket training is the easiest and most fun. For trips to the countryside always prepare for excess heat, dehydration and exposure to either strong sunlight or pouring rain!

What I’ll provide

Food
If you wish, have lunch with our workers onsite - mostly rice, with vegetable and a little meat. Contribution is up to you.
Drinks
Each participant will be provided with one natural coconut drink and unlimited cold clean water during their visit.
Transportation
Transportation to visit outlying villages and producers is provided as an additional option. Total time needed- at least 4 h

What to bring

Guests should just bring clothing appropriate for the season. Mornings are tolerable. Afternoons can be quite hot. Any trips to the countryside requires clothing suitable for protection from the sun.
Cameras and a sketchpad for starters.
