About your host

I am a Melbourne born Jew, whose parents survived the holocaust in Warszaw. I studied the History of Jews in Melbourne as part of my post graduate studies. I also worked at the Jewish Museum. Jewish migration in Melbourne is wide and varied. It continues to this day. It has flavoured the history of the city, as we will see on this tour.

What we’ll do

We will visit the Holocaust Museum. Holocaust survivors from a variety of countries migrated to Melbourne after WWII. We will also visit the Jewish Museum; which documents the social history of Jews in Australia. Both musuems provide internal guides who are available to assist and inform visitors. After the museums, you may wish to take time to chat over coffee and answer any questions.

What else you should know

Men and women need to wear modest clothing. A myki public transport card will be required for groups of 3 or more as we will then need to take the tram to the Jewish Museum.
