What you'll do

I offer a fast, fun, smile-plastered-to-your-face dolphin & whale watching experience on Dana Point’s only Coast Guard inspected rigid hull inflatable catamaran with me or one of my team. This small-group tour of up to 12 guests is perfect for adventurous visitors seeking an intimate look at Dana Point's year-round whales, dolphins, and other mesmerizing marine life. I'm an official dolphin & whale cruise provider in Dana Point, the Dolphin and Whale Watching Capital of the World®! You can get incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of mega-pods of wild dolphins up to 10,000 strong, Blue Whales, (May - Oct), Gray Whales (Nov – May), plus year-round Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, Minke Whales, sea lions, sharks, and more. Rare sightings include orcas, pilot whales, and more. With speeds up to 30 knots, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Additionally, you'll enjoy Dana Point's scenic coastline, described as “the most romantic spot on the California coast.” My zodiac is comfortable with features like heavily padded seats with seat backs, large sunshade, and a unique catamaran hull designed for a smoother, more stable ride. Have a GoPro? Bring it! This boat is VERY close to the water’s surface and the wide, rectangular bow is perfect for capturing that Instagram-worthy underwater shot. Join me, and BE one of the pod!

Dave

I am a Coast Guard licensed captain, and for over 20 years I've had the privilege of taking passengers out to see the magnificent whales and huge pods of dolphins that live year-round off the coast of Southern California. When I’m not on the water showing passengers amazing sea life, I’m actively involved with whale disentanglement. I'm also an award winning filmmaker and author.

Where you'll be

We depart from beautiful Dana Point Harbor, a small marina with quick access to the open ocean. Dana Point is conveniently located mid-way between Los Angeles and San Diego, just a few minutes from Laguna Beach, and only 33 miles from Disneyland. It's not uncommon to see playful dolphins or jumping whales right outside the harbor! The direction we go will depend upon the wildlife. Usually, we only need to go 3 to 5 miles offshore.
