What you'll do

We’ll greet you at the main parking lot as soon as you arrive. The Livestock Guardian Dogs will usually beat us out the gate. Don’t be alarmed! They’re quite large but very people friendly. After a brief introduction we will start the tour. The order usually starts with the bachelor pad(dock). Meet our alpaca boys! They are quite inquisitive and will come up the fence to greet you. In and along side the boy's pen are a couple of gentlemen, our turkey ambassadors! Be ready to snap those pictures! Across the road is our sheep pens. You’ll learn about rare breeds and why we choose to raise them. Next we will move to the chicken coops, where we collect our own eggs. Then meet Ginger and Spice our very naughty, very spoiled miniature horses. We then take you inside one of the most important places on our farm. The Shearing Shed. We will show you how we shear and collect their fleeces for processing. We will have samples to show the various stages from raw fleece to washed and picked to drafted and spun to yarn or thread. Our tour moves into the girls quarters. You will be able to get close to some of the girls. Photo ops galore! Later we may walk a couple of alpacas, weather permitting. We end our tour at our shop and studio, where you will be offered refreshments and have an opportunity to see many of the products we offer for sale in our shop.

Lyn & Mark

My husband and I have owned and operated the Gulf Breeze Alpaca (and Sheep) Ranch and Lodging at Lake Corpus Christi since 2007. Soon after welcoming my first alpacas home, I developed skills in processing their fiber, starting with learning how to shear them. After learning how to shear and process the fiber into batts, roving and yarn, I opened my shop and studio on the farm, where I teach spinning, knitting and wet felting & needle felting. I offer handmade and commercially made items and yarn in my shop. My husband and I offer educational and entertaining tours of the ranch to groups and families throughout the year as well as offering lodging through Airbnb in 2 cute cottages and our RV.
