What you'll do
First, you will meet at the honey shop where I (Beekeeper) will explain the different honeys and you can taste them. After that we will go across the road to my beehives (weather permitted) where I will show you the hives, inside and out and explain the cycle of the honey bees and the difference between the Queen Bee, worker and drone. Hopefully we will be able to spot the Queen Bee, she is much larger than the worker bees. After the beehives we will go back over to the honey shop where you can purchase the honey or ask more questions if you like. This experience also includes a 500g jar of Honey per group.
Bonjour! My name is Bene and I come from France. I have been in New Zealand for over 28 years now. I have a passion for bees and I am a registered beekeeper for over 11 years. I have taught the local schools about the importance of bees and their preservation. I own a honey shop with my husband Tony and we sell our local honey that I produce. Bees are an important part of our eco system and are extremely important to our world and people. They have been declared as an endangered species, which is why I would like to share my knowledge and passion about saving them and how incredible these creatures are! At the end of this experience you will receive a 500g Jar of our creamed honey per group.
