What you'll do

We'll start the day by picking you up at your hotel in Cusco via private bus. Then drive approximately 2 hours to the hiking site for Rayan Community. Prior to the hike, we will eat a provided breakfast at the trailhead. Then we will begin the hike. It is a 1-mile hike which rises over 1000 feet passing a pristine waterfall and untouched Incan Ruins. You will have a donkey to help you carry your backpack or other personal gear throughout the hike as we hike on the way to Rayan Community. It is approximately a 2-hour hike.

Once we reach Rayan Community, we will learn how to farm with how the local Quechua people farm. Next, they will teach you how they prepare a local Quechua meal. Warning: this is a raw experience. We will have a more Americanized day lunch provided if you don't want to eat the local meal. We'll hang out with the families and learn a new way to experience day-to-day life. From there we will hike back down the trail back to the bus for a ride back to Cusco and a drop-off at your hotel.

We've partnered with Rayan Community to make sure that every trip taken provides a proceed of the income to the community.

Where you'll be

Rayan community is where we will visit. It is a very small Quechua farm community in the Sacred Valley of Peru. We must warn you, this trip is very RAW. You are going to be experiencing a way of life that is 100% authentic to the Quechua people. You are going into their homes and their property, so please be very respectful to their ways and traditions.
