What you'll do

The tour at the farm will begin with the meeting at the agritourism restaurant, where you will be welcomed by me and my family who will present the farm, its history, its animals and how the passion for this project was born.
Throughout the tour I will always be with you, happy to answer all your questions!

The route includes various stages of encounter, knowledge and approach to all the animals on the farm: we will start with a visit to rabbits and chicks, and then arrive in the main barn where the donkey Jack live together with Neve and Bianchina, the sheep on the farm.

During the tour you will also have the opportunity to see the cultivated fields and olive groves.

After the walk in the countryside, among animals and nature, you will return to the restaurant where our cook Sabrina will let you find a tasting of typical products that you can also buy at our shop.

Hello! I am Francesco, the owner of the Agriturismo and Educational Farm Mamma Chica. I was born and raised in this land, halfway between the Cinque Terre and Portovenere, which gives me a deep love for my region. Together with my family we renovated the buildings in 2008, giving life to this educational farm project to which we add a piece every time.
My goal is to stimulate curiosity towards the peasant and animal world, a world that now seems so distant from us but that instead is very important for our life and for our nutrition.

We had a fantastic time with Francesco. We met with all the animals including Jack! The food we had was really good and we even ate the eggs freshly collected from the henhouse during the farm tour.

Francesco is a great host. He is very personable, has good communication and very fast response time. The experience was wonderful! From seeing all sorts of plantation to many many animals (my favorite being Jack of course), Francesco really made the experience exciting from beginning to end. Sabrina (the cook) is also very kind and cooks delicious food! All of the people on the farm were a pleasure to interact with. I would recommend everyone who has a passion for animals and the outdoors to give this experience a try. The walk from the bus station to Francesco’s location is stunning, and it only gets better once you’ve reached his farm. I will also definitely come back again : )

What a great experience. Francesco was so nice and personable and this is land has been in his family for generations. Our kids loved seeing all of the animals. The animals were really sweet and were gentle with our kids! The absolute highlight for my husband and I was the lunch. Local meat, cheeses, veggies and wine. We bought the green tomato jam and olive oil we loved it so much.

My husband and I booked this farm tour on a whim during our honeymoon. It ended up being the highlight of our 4 days in Cinque Terre! Francesco and his team were very warm and welcoming. He picked us from from the nearest train station (La Spezia Centrale) and showed us around the beautiful family farm, giving stories on its history, the animals, and the crops. We went horseback riding and fed Jack and his friends, who were all adorable and sweet! We ended with lunch prepared by them, which featured fresh, homemade foods that were grown/made on the farm: delicious jams and sauces, ravioli, meats and cheeses, and even dessert. Lunch on their patio overlooking the entire green valley was such a treat. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a retreat into nature and simpler times in life!

This was an amazing experience! I have done several Airbnb Experiences and this was probably my favorite - I imagine it is exactly the type of authentic local experience that the service is intended to provide. Francesco’s farm was scenic, situated on a hilltop of historic buildings. He and his staff showed us around, telling stories of the agriculture, the family, and their animals. I got to ride a horse and feed their animals. The highlight was a light lunch prepared with the farm’s bounty overlooking the hills. Everything was delicious and I bought a few things to take home. Francesco and the rest of the staff are incredibly sweet and hospitable. You won’t regret visiting!
