What you'll do

Take in stunning views of the Pangaio mountains and the sea, accompanied and entertained by donkeys.

We’ll meet at our stone house farm in the countryside and introduce you to the 7 friendly donkeys at their paddock.
After pettings them & getting familiar, we will get them ready for the tour.

After a few introductions in the paddock on how to lead a donkey, we will leave for a walk or hike through the mountains. At an easy pace, we walk up a smaller mountain where we’ll find beautiful spots to take in the silence of the landscape, enjoy the stunning view of the sea, and observe the donkeys browsing through the fields or cuddling.

During the tour will learn more about these lovely animals, while being active, breathing fresh air and calming our mind!

It is an amazing experience for groups but also individuals or families alike :-)

I'm a German homesteader and freelancer. Together with my Greek husband, I left the busy financial industry and our life in Singapore to live a more down-to-earth-life and to raise our toddler in the beautiful nature of Greece's mountains. We renovated the old stone farm on site of the estate which was hosting donkeys for over 20 years. We love spending our time transforming our grounds to a permaculture food forest and integrating the animals (donkeys, sheep, chickens, goose and cats). Since we originally have a very different background, I studied 'Environmental Management' as a second study and we brought donkey-experts from Germany over to train us and the donkeys. The result is stunning, relaxing or active tours with the donkeys in the fields and the pine forests that are surrounding us. Let me share my passion for donkeys with you

Where you'll be

The Pangaio is with almost 2000 m the highest mountain in the Kavala area, with picturesque mountain villages, Podochori being one of them. The farm is beautifully located at the edge of the village and we immediately enter the olive groves, fields, pine forests and then tour towards Pangaio with as much elevation and speed as you feel comfortable with. The view is more than rewarding and you will want to rest on top of the mountain to take it in

We had a great time getting to know the well-looked after and much loved donkeys and then walking with them in the superb setting of the Greek mountains. Beate and her father were super helpful, friendly and knowledgable. Beate went out of her way to help us with arrangements for getting there and gave us a fabulous recommendation for somewhere to eat afterwards. A really lovely experience. If you like animals and Greek mountains, you'll love this.
