What you'll do

We will meet in front of the fountain in Kanal from where we will hit the road to the beekeeper. Dive into the fascinating world of the bees away from the main tourist attractions. You will visit an apiary that is set in the countryside. You will learn all about basic beekeeping, beehives, Slovenian apiary, Carniola bee, bee products and apitherapy. You will deepen your knowledge about bee life-cycle (queen, drones and worker bees), how to manage the hive, how to have a healthy hive and what equipment do beekeepers us for their work. You will be provided with a beekeeping jacket, hat and gloves. In addition, you will have an opportunity to sample 5 types of raw honey. Enjoy the different aroma, color and taste of various honeys. BeeHappy!
We will make your visit safe and comfortable. Beekeepers venue can be adjusted for all ages and physical ability.
This experience refers to adults, but it is family friendly as well.
Bee experience and Honey Tasting is running all year around (between September and March a beekeeper is not opening a beehive but you can still enjoy the aerosol air and hear a bees buzz!).
In case you have any allergy against honey or bee sting please let me know in advance.

We had a lovley trip to the bee keeper with Vesna. Vesna is very knowledgable and pleasant and by asking questions she made sure we got loads of interesting information. We had our 5 year old son with us whom she watched over if we were busy listening to Maria ( the bee keeper). In the end we had a honeytasting and bought quite a bit of it for home .

It couldn’t have been a greater experience. We have been lucky to meet one of the few female beekeepers in Soča Valley. Vesna has treated us fantastically since we contacted her (even before booking) giving us recommendations and ensuring that we would have the best experience regarding our requirements (as I am already a beekeeper). Vesna was really insightful and kind and we would definitely repeat an experience with her once we’ll be back in Slovenia. Many thanks once again!!
