What you'll do

See some of Paris’s funkiest high rises. The mysterious gardens of its most controversial museum, designed by studio Jean Nouvel to house stolen goods from exotic places. Step inside Paris’s only floating hotel, a designer glass pool house on the river. The green roof built atop France’s first raw concrete building. A library shaped like an open book, and the city’s most awe inspiring Islamic architecture.
This is a modern and contemporary architecture tour of Paris. Taking us from the east to western ends of the Seine, where new architecture has found a home, we pass through some of the city’s oldest squares and islands and stop at Notre Dame to get the contrast.
Paris is a living museum steeped in history. A rarity here are modern architectural landmarks, yet these do exist thanks to Jacques Chirac. We begin at Musee Quai Branly, with it’s glass facades and wild gardens, and the minimalist Russian cathedral with five golden Baubles on top. On route to another modern masterpiece, Bibliotheque Francois Mitterrand (2006) - possible by river boat, city bike, scooter, bus or Uber (your choice) we visit a floating hotel, a metal pool barge where you can book a swim, the Islamic architectural feat the Institut du Mond Arab, with panoramic views, a historic concrete port bldg decked in a green snake. We break for mint tea at the beautiful, newly renovated Mosque de Paris from 1926

Dank!
