You will take your time to discover how people are living with wildlife and what the opportunities and the challenges are. You will be immersed into different approaches to sustainable and eco-friendly living; from the Maasai to the Datoga, to the Hadzabe to the Ujamaa Multicultural Village. Your nature viewing experiences won't come short either: You will tour the Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti National Park. Your accommodations are comfortable and high-end lodges, tented camps and guest houses. This safari is an opportunity to get to know both the natural and cultural heritage of Northern Tanzania.

Meet your host, Loserian

Host on Airbnb since 2019

Hi, my name is Loserian and I'm a Maasai elder from the Ngorongoro. I am also the East African director of Safarisource. On the side, I run a charitable organization helping local Maasai and Datoga Youth from Ngorongoro to study at high school and college. When I walked to school as a young boy I often encountered lions and leopards. I was so fascinated by animal behavior I would often be late for school. My passion for wildlife brought me to study wildlife management and to assist my community whenever I can in mitigating human-wildlife conflict. We Maasai are the custodians of wildlife and we must work together with other conservationists to protect our natural heritage. My Safarisource booking buddies Jessika, Max, Kate and Samira may assist in answering messages when I am on safari.

More tips

Please be respective of the Hadzabe way of life. Refrain from "converting" anyone. They know well of the cities and the opportunities there and sometimes young Hadzabes move there, often to return to the community. The Hadzabe live underneath the stars and take from the earth only what they need.
