What you'll do

Our walking starts in Campo de la Carità, in front of Gallerie dell'Accademia. From there we can cross the Accademia Bridge (1 of the 4 bridges that cross the Grand Canal) and enjoying one of the best view of Venice. It's time to visit San Marco district: a very unusual building (Scala Contarini dal Bovolo), the most popular Bridge (Rialto Bridge) and a beatiful view from a terrace (Fondaco dei Tedeschi). So much beauty deserve a glass of wine to celebrate! And here It is our food stop in a bacaro (1 drink 2 cicchetti each). After the stop we will be ready to see where Marco Polo use to live in Venice, the hospital (believe me you will never believe from outside what happen inside!) and Libreria Acqua alta, a bookshop where the high tide is not a problem. The tour finishes at Campo Santa Maria Formosa.

Alice is a very informative and personable tour guide with an incredible wealth of knowledge. She knows all the winding streets of Venice- and showed me several beautiful places I had walked by several times without even realizing they were there! I feel much better prepared to enjoy the rest of my stay in this beautiful city.
