What you'll do

On arrival you will be provided with a safety brief before introducing to your Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Boarding equipment. The fun begins here as we show you how to get on your board and progress from a kneeling to stand up position. Once you are happy in a kneeling or standing position you will start to explore the canal through the Centre of Bath taking in views over the City from the Kennet and Avon canal, paddling past Georgian merchant warehouses, seeing the famous Widcombe locks up close before journeying through 19th Century canal tunnels past the stunning Georgian Sydney Gardens under the iconic white cast iron footbridges. The wildlife safari paddle starts here as you paddle down towards Bathampton where you can expect to see Kingfishers, Grey Herons and other wildlife dependent on the time of year. Heading back to Bath Narrow Boats from Bathampton you'll enjoy some 'Paddle Board Skills Games' along the way to show off your newly developed SUP skills.

My husband and I had an excellent afternoon with Darroch and a great small group of people. We had never done this before but had a super experience. Will explore learning more about paddle boarding when I return home. Highly recommend, thanks Darroch

Great host. Really friendly and made you feel welcome. Our group was 55, 52, 20 and 16 years. He remembered everyone’s name. The briefing was clear. We had fun as well as learning something new. Me and hubby fell into the water - which was freezing! But it was fun! A different experience we did as a family and I would thoroughly recommend!!

A great experience for two newbie paddle boarders! Darroch was clear, patient and really encouraging! A great blend of support, skill development and information about Bath and the surrounding area. We would both come back again and are keen to continue paddle boarding! If we are ever back in Bath we would be very open to trying some more adventures with Darroch.
