What you'll do

We meet up in the city center and together we will go to IKEA Kungens Kurva, which is one of the biggest IKEA stores in the world. The traveltime on the shuttle bus is approx. 20-25 min one way.

When we arrive I start by sharing the history of IKEA and its founder, the IKEA ideology and approach, current facts and future plans. After the introduction we explore the large showcase area and see some of the most iconic IKEA furniture throughout the years. The showrooms can also give you new ideas on practical and fun ways of organizing your own home, IKEA style.

The next step of this experience takes part in the heart of the store, the IKEA restaurant. Now it is time to enjoy a traditional Swedish Fika, which means have a sit down coffee (or tea) with a cinnamon bun and talk about life. I will share more about Swedish Culture, traditions and everyday life. The coffee / tea and one cinnamon bun is included in the price of the experience and if you want to eat anything else that is of course alright but it will be at your own expense.

During fika we do a "SWEDEN TRIVIA QUIZ" with a prize for the winner! :)

After we finish our Swedish fika we have a little bit of time to explore before we return to the IKEA shuttle bus.

(The experience last around 3 hours, transportation time included, which means that we spend 2 hours at IKEA.)

Where you'll be

In order to get to IKEA we take the special IKEA bus which is only available in a few selected cities. The IKEA (Kungens Kurva) we visit was the first IKEA to open in Stockholm in 1965 and it was the largest IKEA in the world until 2014. This store has a special showcase area with a design that was inspired by a famous art museum in NYC. The rest of the store looks just like any other IKEA (the maze) since that is the shops identity

I had fun on this IKEA tour! Before I signed up, I was thinking I could just go to IKEA on my own, but I'm so glad I went with Nina and the group and it was definitely worth it. She explained so much about IKEA and Sweden in general that I would not have learned otherwise. It's a unique and memorable experience I would recommend to anyone visiting Stockholm.

A very personal and nice tour which I would really recommend to everyone. A special blue and yellow experience you can’t miss!
