What you'll do

Stationed at a professional easel in our well lit studio you will contunually observe and draw the life model as he/she is carefully positioned by the tutor, you will work on various poses throughout each session, initally short but ending in a prolonged pose allowing complete absorption in the act of drawing. Through this process you wil build on your skills of observation, your understanding of composition, perspective, light and shade, shape and form and finally realise these in a finished drawing
In addition to the methods of drawinging we will look at the use of various 'dry' materials/medium, charcoal, pencil, pastels,
At the end of the only a few sessions I guarantee you will stand back and say to yourself and me, WOW! did I really do that.

" Many artists are prepared to suffer for their art, few are prepared to learn to draw." Paraphrasing from the artist Banksy
Hello, I've been a practicing painter and ceramic sculptor for over forty years - still learning. Spread out over that time were some fifteen years of teaching.
I really hope that I imparted some knowledge to the wide range of students whom I encountered, from primary to secondry school, further education colleges, special needs and prison inmates. Three things which I learned - I liked teaching, anyone can learn to draw and everyone likes chips.
So here I am France where I currently run a small art gallery in the beautiful old town of Uzerche.
In the process of renovating our old house we set aside a fabulous space for a studio/workshop, this is now up and running and perfect for various planned classes......

More tips

I'm hoping that this class will be fairly small and friendly. I'm looking for adult students of all levels of ability, beginners especially. There will be at least two ten - fifteen minute breaks and a series of other small breaks for the model. There will be high stools and chairs for weary bots.
