What you'll do

On this local experience, you will discover the beautiful centre and surroundings of Lisbon with its amazing panoramic viewpoints! We will use a minivan (maximum 8 people) to explore the hills of Lisbon, it’s amazing viewpoints and attractions. We will start by exploring the old town and the most typical neighborhoods like Baixa, Chiado, Alfama, Graça or Mouraria. We will cross the Portuguese Golden Gate Bridge (25th of April Bridge) and we'll make a stop at the Portuguese Christ the King Statue (the best view over Lisbon)! Then we will go to Belém and we'll learn how big sailors the Portuguese were in the past (we were everywhere!) and taste the best well-keep secret in the whole country (they sell in average 30.000 a day, but don’t worry because we have a way of skipping big lines)! You can’t miss the magnificent Jeronimos Monastery, a UNESCO site (we'll visit the church, but skip the cloister), the Torre de Belem (Belem Tower, outside) and the impressive Padrao dos Descobrimentos (Discoveries Monument; outside). This tour is made in a relaxing and funny way without any rush like we like to do in Portugal. Vamos? (Let’s go?)

Olá (hi). My name is Nuno and I am the founder of the Lisbon Riders - travel like a local. I was born in Lisbon and 7 years ago I started a small company to share my city with the people that come to visit us. Lisbon is a great city to visit but the experience will be much better with a local. You will meet a friendly local guide, me or one of the girls, Rita, Tânia or Carolina; or one of the boys, Nuno or Ricardo) all local experts who know every corner of Lisbon with many years of passion and experience. I promise you that in a couple of hours we will cover the most important sites of the city and learn a lot about how is to live in this beautiful city. And of course, we will share some secrets with you, some very tasty and delicious! Everything will be done in a relaxing and funny way. Até já (see you soon)!!!

Where you'll be

We will tour the most typical neighborhoods in Lisbon like Baixa, Chiado, Alfama, Graça or Mouraria, and stop at the best viewpoints. We will cross the Tejo river to enjoy an amazing view at Christ the King Statue. Then, we'll explore Belém, and visit the Monastery of Jeronimos (just the church; not the cloister), the Belem Tower (outside) or the giant Discoveries Monument (outside). And we'll try the delicious and famous Pastel de Belem!

Great intro to Lisbon and a lovely way to spend the day. I had an injured foot, so this was a perfect experience to sightsee.

This excursion is a very good starting point to get to know Lisbon: within 5 hours we visited the most important sites of the city and also got an idea on how to move further, within the next several days we planned to spend there. Karolina's presentation was very good. Particularly appreciated was her well-mannered behaviour and kind, enthusiastic attitude. Visitors who would like to have an educational and amusing city tour should definitely opt for this one. Karolina, it was a pleasure meeting you. Thank you very much.

Tonya was a wonderful guide. Her knowledge of the history of Lisbon was amazing. Her passion for her city and it’s history made our afternoon delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her.

We had a wonderful day discovering Lisbon with Ricardo. He was a lovely and a very knowledgeable host who gave us a great tour. Ricardo's background in history and local culture was great and he took us to places we might not have seen otherwise. We got a great feel for the city and learned a lot. He gave us super advice on restaurants and what else to see during our holiday in Lisbon. We appreciated very much that Ricardo never rushed us and it was not a problem for him to finish later as planned. He even dropped us where we wanted and we had a nice coffee (and pasteis de Bélem) with him. Thank you Ricardo

We had previously visited many of the sites on the tour with Nuno. His detailed explanations and insights created a new and deeper understanding of the history and culture of Portugal. It was enlightening, educational and far exceeded our expectations.
