What you'll do
We will meet you at Bethnal Green Tube station, which is on the Central Line and in Zone 2 and from there it is around 15 mins walk to my studio. We will walk via the scenic route and you will see some of the canals nearby which have very pretty boats and it's a great place to take some pics. We will walk down the amazing Broadway Market which is full of cute little shops and cafes – on Saturdays there is a fabulous street market too! My studio is inside a railway arch in a street that has a long history with contemporary art and is within a friendly creative neighbourhood. This street is regularly used for films so it's not unusual to see a film being made! I will show you the space where I work and I will show you my paintings, how I make them, look at my sketch books and discuss my art process. I will show you various techniques that I use in my art and then you will get the chance to create your masterpiece! The group size will be small - max 4 guests but often less so you will get a very bespoke and personalised experience and a real insight to what it's like to live as an artist in London! We will provide some drinks and nibbles in case you get peckish!
Tere & Colin
I'm Colin and I studied art at the famous Camberwell School of Art. I have had my Railway Arch studio for 3 years and it’s where I create my art and I love it! I live with my partner, Tere, also an artist/ photographer, on a beautiful houseboat in East London and we are part of an amazing creative community! I have shown my work all over the world and sell my art at art fairs and through galleries and other contacts. I am a full-time artist, it is my life, it is my passion and absolutely love connecting with others who love art and want to know about what I create. Check out my website: www.colinmccallum.com with links to instagram for lots of pics! I am very inspired by living in the urban city and East London is one of the best locations to be an artist!

Where you'll be
We will show you a private art studio that is hidden and not accessible to the public. The studio is in a railway arch that has not been converted so retains all the character of the original Victorian building. The neighbourhood around the studio is very interesting and with a great local atmosphere and includes some great shops and food places as well as the Regents Canal which has some lovely houseboats next to Broadway Market.
