Good experience from a local inhabitant; but always compare additional options before booking. There are a lot of options! Even being there (but be aware of prices too).

We had a great walking tour through the Medina with Mohammed. With our big group of 14 people, he expertly navigated us through the souks and past the highlights of the Médina. He showed us palaces, the big square, speciality shops in the Souk, gardens and other nice spots. Mohammed provided interesting (historical) details on our walk and made sure to point out every interesting sight along the way. His flexibility allowed us to even extend our walk with him until after lunch. We highly recommend doing this on the first day of your trip, so you can easily navigate the city on your own afterwards.

Mohammed is a devote Moslim. We are two women of 56 and 59 years old, we showed him respect at the beginning when he didn't want to shake our hand. We asked why, he politely explained to us and we thanked him for the explanation. After that moment every single word was about Allah, why islam is the only religion and why clearly men are better than women. Also how rushed the western world is and how much there is to learn from the moslim culture. For 20 minutes we listened, each time he used the excuse of a moskee to be able to preach. Then I politely asked him if he would be prepared to tell us about the history of Marrakech and the architecture without mentioning islam / koran / allah. He said no as that was part of the history and without that it would not be possible. He wanted to take another 10 minutes to explain that to me. We were 50 metres from the place where we had began the walk at that moment. So be warned, if you want a incredibly slow, detailed explanation of why Allah rules all, great walk, if not avoid at all cost. Mohammed is a gentleman, kind and polite, let that be clear, but the way he presents the information is far from what we would expect from an Airbnb guide. It's difficult to wriite this, as you do not want to hurt someones chances to make a living or insult them. But this time I really felt the necessity as we could not have been more polite in asking him if he would consider leaving out Allah. NO was not the right answer in our eyes.

It was nice walk, Mohamed told us lots about the monuments, history and culture. Reccomend to do it on first day as introduction to Marrakesh and based on that pick which museums is worth to see inside.

Brilliant circular walk with all the information we needed. Mohammed was thoughtful and well-informed. He answered all of our questions with great knowledge. A wonderful introduction to the heart of Marrakech
