What you'll do

We will meet in the center of San Sebastián, and I will take you to walk along one of the most beautiful maritime shores of this region, the one that takes us from the bay of San Sebastián to the bay of Pasaia for no more and no less than the Camino de Santiago. To do this we will go up Mount Ulía and, walking parallel to the coastline, we will discover beautiful landscapes overflowing with sea, sky and land that will make you fall in love. We will go down to Pasai San Pedro and taste a pintxo and a local drink in one of my favorite bars. We will cross Pasai Donibane in a boat to discover the place where the French writer Victor Hugo lived, and finally we will return to the starting point by public transport. Everything between 4-5 hours.

I will tell you why this route is so dear to us from San Sebastian and the stories about everything we will find along the way: fresh water sources, humble aqueducts, solitary lighthouses, hidden ruins, watchtowers from where the whales were sighted. I will point out everything visible to the east and west from the viewpoints of the promenade, while to the north we contemplate the powerful Cantabrian Sea.

After countless treks around the world, Ulia is still "my" special mountain. You cannot miss it on your visit to Donostia.

If you are a group or if you book the private tour I can adapt it to your liking. Oh, and don't stop looking at the other activities I offer.

Local engineer reinvented in nature guide. Curious and very active, I worked as an engineer for many years, dedicating all my free time to the mountains and getting to know other places and other cultures, coming to live and travel in more than 120 countries but always-always returning to the wonderful city that saw me born and that he has me in love. The path we will walk has been one of the constants in my life, a refuge for my parents and now mine, which I enjoy very much sharing it.

Those who accompany me in my experiences highlight the good source of information that I am, the good time they spend and how easy everything is with me. And best of all, everyone leaves wanting to return.

Where you'll be

The tour begins in the surf of the Donostia beach in the Gros neighborhood. After a good climb, it runs along the north face of Mount Ulía and leads us to the natural port of Pasaia, a port in whose shipyards those whalers who left for Newfoundland a whopping five centuries ago were built. Did you know that one of those galleons is back? And that Blas de Lezo was born here?
