Be enchanted by tales of Cumbrian folklore from the Great Monster of the Lake to the fairy hills that hide a secret gateway into the other-world. Leave with a list of locations to seek out these great legends and the spirits of faeries, elves and witches, if you dare.

An expertly curated tour that has been the highlight of our holiday! I'm so glad we did this! If you want to do something different and experience the Lake District through a locals eyes then don't hesitate to take this tour! I learned so much about the unusual (and sometimes grotesque!) spiritual practices of ancient people who lived in this area long ago, the folkloric stories and beliefs that have enchanted the minds of the local inhabitants and now I even know where to go to seek out fairies in the hills thanks to the location list that was provided at the end. The walk itself takes you away from the main tourist crowds (a welcome relief!) and after a very easy ascent to the top of the hill you are greeted by the dramatic vista of a glistening lake set against the backdrop of rolling hills and high peaks. A truly stunning view. Thank you Cassie! We'll be coming back to the lake district with our family over Christmas and will definitely be bringing them on this walk!

Wow! Fascinating history spanning through many ages... The tales of folklore that Cassie shared were stories I've never encountered before and they are clearly little known as you don't come across them in any of the main tourist attractions. Also, I had no idea that the Lake District was formed this way. Though I have been a fairly regular visitor to The Lakes over the years, I learned more today than I have in all my previous visits and I will never look at the stunning landscapes in the same way again. Definitely a unique experience!

We had a great time with Cassie. She's definitely someone you'll want to meet and connect with; she's an absolute gem and so passionate... I'm really glad we did this. I love learning about ancient history and folklore and Cassie provided this in abundance with so many interesting tales. I cant wait to go and find the fairy gates to another world! The walk itself was very scenic, through gorgeous woodland up to a view point for a wonderful panoramic view of the lake and the mountain peaks. We walked at a nice relaxing pace & Cassie was very considerate of our needs. Plus we got really lucky with the weather and she gave us loads of tips for places to visit. I highly recommend this tour. Thanks Cassie!

Last week I was lucky enough to go on this walking tour. Although I've been to Windermere few times I didn't realise the amount of fascinating history there is in this area. I love walking so this tour was a great way to combine both activity and learning. Cassie was amazing. Such great knowledge of the area and delivered in a really relaxed, informative manner. She really brought the experience to live for me :-) Would highly recommend!

Fantastic! This was the highlight of our trip! I've been to Windermere a few times before but never really got out of the main tourist hotspot of Bowness - I had no idea what I'd been missing. The views from the top of the look out point Cassie took us to were incredible! Cassie's knowledge of the Lake District's history was detailed and she was able to deftly weave between fact and folklore in a thoroughly engaging style. She made us all feel really welcome and we learned a great deal about the history of the Lake District and it's charming folklore. Leaving with a list of locations to seek out these legends was a nice touch - we're going to try and find the Great Monster of the Lake tomorrow!
