What you'll do

On our “Uptown Chauffeured Food Tour” you'll relax while we take you on a food journey across Upper Manhattan. We’ll visit and discover great communities, sample traditional dishes at local restaurants and provide historical and cultural insights about neighborhoods of Upper Manhattan.
We’ll meet at the northern tip of Central Park and steadily make our way to the top of Manhattan. The journey begins as we head over to Spanish Harlem. After savoring the most delicious tacos we'll hit the road and make our way through Mount Morris Historic District in Harlem, one of NYC’s premier neighborhoods, to get a glimpse of some of the city’s cherished architecture. Next, get ready to taste the best pan fried chicken from a local, long-time Harlem restauranteur. It’s time for some walking as we set out to explore this Harlem neighborhood and meet real New Yorkers doing great things that you would not expect in a dense urban environment. Back on the limo-van, we’ll cont. uptown and visit Hamilton Heights and Sugar Hill before we sample some flavorful appetizers in the heart of Washington Heights’ “Little Dominican Republic”. Next, we’ll drive up the final stretch Broadway, and discover Inwood. It’s the neighborhood with the only remaining natural forest in the city. For the finale, you’ll taste some fine desserts and savor them at the city’s best-kept secret destination on the Hudson.

I’ve always been passionate about creating warm, welcoming environments to put people at ease in new situations. I started Maptop Tours to make visitors to NYC feel comfortable and enjoy the cosmopolitan energy w/out fearing the hustle-and-bustle. I've always loved hosting visitors to NYC and I have a degree in Tourism & Hospitality Mgmt and studied and worked in the tourism industry in France (3 years) and Japan (5 years) where I learned to speak fluent French and Japanese. Additionally, I worked as studio tour guide for NBCUniversal in their Page Program. Further, I've hosted Japanese private group tours to NYC where I worked as a tour guide, reserved lodging and restaurants and provided transport logistics. I'm a licensed NYC sightseeing guide that offers customized NYC tours with a focus on Upper Manhattan.

I highly recommend Kent's tours. If you're in NYC when Harlem Greens is open, you'll be in for a treat. Take their ideas and bring them back to your hometown. Children come to the community garden to learn, and Harlem Greens distributes free food from their harvest on Saturdays. Residents bring green waste by for composting, and educational programs are offered. This was my first time to Harlem. I had not been back to NYC for 25 years, and back then, I was warned to steer clear of Harlem. Now, it's a vibrant community with music and a variety of culinary offerings. Kent has a special surprise at the end, but I won't spoil that!

Kent is amazing, fun and very considerate. He offered great insight on the things to do in Harlem outside of his tour. He was a generous host! We had fun!
