What you'll do

THIS IS A SHORTER VERSION OF THE 5* RATED 'DISCOVER WATERFALLS, CAVES & CAVERN' WALK I HOST ON AIRBNB. REDUCED LENGTH, DURATION & PRICE - THIS IS A HALF DAY WALK INSTEAD OF A FULL DAY.

Follow me on an unforgettable journey, through the Lake Districts infamously beautiful landscapes of mountains, forests and valleys, where together, where will we uncover spectacular caves and a HUGE cavern. Feel the chill as you enter the 400ft tunnel... immerse yourself in darkness... lose yourself in mystery.. Nothing can prepare you for the feeling of wonder you experience inside the caves & cavern - just don't forget your camera or your friends will never believe you.

Step back in time as I teach you about how this incredible landscape was formed through violent volcanic & glacial events millions of years ago. Unearth the long forgotten past & understand how ancient beliefs in gods and spirits brought bloodshed to these lands. Learn of the hardships faced by men, women & children working in the mills and the mines during the Victorian era and understand how Wordsworth's poetry helped to transform society.

This is a stunning circular hike that will leave you breathless at the beauty of nature & marvelling at the Lake District's history.

This is a DOG-FRIENDLY walk so please feel free to bring your furry companions along!

We all know that the best travel experiences are when you meet the locals and get off the beaten tourist path. So join me, your new local friend, on a journey through the best scenery that England has to offer. I'm a 5* rated, passionate Lake District guide with a knack for finding hidden gems. Together we'll discover sights that even the locals don't know about.

As an amateur historian with a love for anthropology (the study of human societies and cultures and their development), I'll share fascinating tales of history stretching back 500 million years. Learn how this incredible landscape was formed through cataclysmic geological events, uncover what our ancient ancestors found when they settled this mystical land and hear how the people of the Lake District impacted the lives of every man, woman & child in Britain.

Where you'll be

We'll be away from the main tourist hotspots of Windermere & Ambleside, instead, taking lesser-known paths around Tilberthwaite & the Langdale Valley.

Suitable for those with a low level of fitness - no big hills but there are some inclines. The walk will last approximately 3 hours with breaks and sightseeing.

This is a dog friendly walk - they'll love it!

Access to caves is via a tunnel of approx 130m x 2m wide. Head height approx 1.5m

Cassie was a great host. The tour was very engaging and interesting. The information provided was both fascinating and you could tell she was very passionate about it. We truly enjoyed it and strongly recommend the experience.

It was a walk through a beautiful area with a good friend, Cassie, who just happens to be brilliant on the history of the area. Literally one of the best experiences we have had since moving to the UK 3 years ago. Your guide is kind, humble, and very bright about the area. Could not reccomend an experience more!

We had a wonderful day with Cassie and Cosmo. She explained where we were and the history of the walk, making the experience come alive. She took time to talk to each of us and engaged with our family individually. She even won over the teenagers! We all thought she was lovely.

Grade A experience, such an incredible day. Directions to the meeting spot are really straightforward. We are active people but don’t hike much and Cassie did a great job of providing recommendations at certain spots on how to best navigate the terrain, we felt safe the entire time; you’re able to talk the entire way so it’s never too strenuous. The views are incredible. Cassie knows the history of the area and went beyond our expectations in sharing information on the landscape and history as well as answer random questions. She (and Cosmo) made the entire experience really special. Highly recommend doing this at the beginning of your trip as it will inspire the rest of your adventures!

We had an amazing time doing this hike with Cassie. It was the first big activity that we did in the Lake District and ended up being one of our favourites! From start to finish, Cassie shared so many interesting stories about the Lake District that really brought the area to life. Cassie was very engaging and friendly, and the trail that she took us through was stunning - make sure you bring your camera! There were definitely some beautiful spots during the walk that we would not have come across on our own. The hiking route route was safe and not very physically demanding. It was my first time hiking but Cassie was very considerate of my (in)experience and I never felt overly physically strained. The 3 hours ultimately went by very quickly as there were so many beautiful things to see! We would really recommend this walk, especially if it’s your first time in the Lake District.
