What you'll do

The Schober-Frauenkopf mountain is the perfect spot for some easy climbing and the chance to take full advantage of the panoramic vistas in the Austrian Alps.

Located just 1.5 hours away from Salzburg, this easy rock climbing trip is perfect for beginner climbers (level 3 UIAA) who like to take the time to enjoy the stunning views of the lake and valley below.

After meeting up in Fuschl (Ruine Wartenfels parking lot), we will start an easy half-hour approach through the evergreen forest. Once at the base of the rock, we will begin our 2-hour ascent following a well-defined ridge line.

From the summit, we will enjoy panoramic views out over our surroundings, taking in stunning scenery defined by snow-capped, green fields and Lake Fuschl. From here, an easy 1-hour hike will take us back to the parking lot.

Depending on the time of year, you may want to go for a refreshing dip in the lake after our adventure. Sounds like fun? Contact me and let's start organizing this leisurely climb to the top of the Schober-Frauenkopf!
