Hi! I’m Yamasaki, the chief editor of Sharing Kyoto media introducing information about Kyoto, as known as ramen king. I have been to over 300 ramen places in Kyoto and continuously studying about ramen by eating over 300 bowls every year.

Bored of standard ramen chains such as Ippudo or Ichiran? Looking for real ramen? Yes, you are looking at a perfect tour right now. I will introduce you to the best ramen place in Kyoto with my assistant/translator Sakurako, a Japanese brought up in the UK.

This was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve been on. Our host was incredibly knowledgeable about ramen and tailored the experience to our preferences. The translator was also incredibly kind and spoke great English. 10-10 would do again

Yamasaki-san and Suka were incredibly welcoming, friendly and clearly enthusiastic about sharing their love for ramen with visitors. They took us to a place we could never have found ourselves and helped us understand the menu and what the specialities were. All the time they shared information and stories about ramen history and styles.

The tour was wonderful. I enjoyed how the Ramen King personalized the restaurant chosen to introduce us to a new type of ramen (new to us). He and his translator made us feel welcome and were eager to share ramen knowledge with us. We also got non-ramen related Kyoto tips for other questions we had. I think this tour is great for those that love ramen, like trying new things, and want to meet people passionate about Kyoto tourism.

We got taken to a great new Ramen place catered to the experience we wanted to have (in our case we wanted to try a new style of Ramen). The Ramen king was very accommodating and made sure we were comfortable and have any of our questions answered. We learned a lot about different ramen types, eggs, and ramen in general. As someone who enjoys Ramen a lot, this has deepened my appreciation for Ramen and will help me continue to explore Ramen in the future.
