What you'll do

We will begin our experience outside a top-ranked matcha cafe in the heart of the Mission district. I will give my recommendation of its various beverages and baked goods. While indulging in our respective treats, we will talk about living in the city, its various activities, and important points of interest. I'm particularly focused on making sure you make the most of your trip (or potential move!) here.

After our chat, I will provide you with a digital list of my favorite restaurants in the city, as well as key points of interest based on your travel tastes. Lastly, we will walk over to the famous Clarion Alley, where beautifully curated street art awaits you! We will share a farewell, and you can move forward with a sense of purpose and direction in this magnificent City by the Bay.

Hello!

I'm a doctor by trade but cultural enthusiast by night. I am a local SF musician, dancer, and - most recently - culture guide. I've lived in NYC, Tokyo, Chapel Hill, and San Diego, but LOVE my home of San Francisco.

I am an East Bay Audiologist, North Indian percussionist, and former Tokyo-based study abroad coordinator. My volunteer experiences in the Mission include The Women's Building, Red Poppy Art House, 826 Valencia, & designing in-ear monitors / hearing protection for local musicians. I've discovered numerous cultural jewels in the Mission & Castro districts, but will recommend top sights within the entire city (with options of Oakland & Alameda) for you!

It was a great experience. The matcha was great and also was talking to Anish. He gave me some valuable tips of local places to visit that I wouldn't have been able to find on my own. Highly recommend!

It was a really nice experience and I really enjoyed the food and beverage. Talking to Anish was fun too! He knows a lot about the good JP restaurants in the city and he has a variety of them on the list. Definitely will check them out! He's also a gentleman, very thoughtful.

Such a wonderful experience tasting my way through the area with Anish. I loved all the stories that he shared, and really enjoyed the humor and wit that went into each of his anecdotes. The value was absolutely met, and now I know exactly where I’d come back to if I was back in the area. Great experience.

Anish is extremely knowledgeable, informative in providing helpful information around the Mission and San Francisco in general. I really enjoyed my tour, and at the end of the tour, I also walked away with a wealth of information on things to do and places to eat in SF. I highly recommend this tour for anyone traveling to SF.
