What you'll do
We will eat and tour within the Shaw community---home of Howard University and U Street. Once you purchase your ticket you will receive instructions on where to start the tour. The food you eat is NOT included in the ticket price however we will eat with enough food to satisfy, and also within your budget. The Shaw community is the healthiest eating community in town and also known to give you more food for your dollar ---large portions.
YOU: An enthusiast of African American history and culture, looking for a new positive experience, wanting to walk in a local community, eat the food and see the sights. ME: Your tour guide! I am an anthropologist and I produce experiences that share ethnic history and culture of people from all over the world. I am a graduate of Howard University; I also studied in Egypt and Israel. I have known Washington, DC for 20 plus years. My work has supported coffee farmers in several countries. I am trained in perma-culture design having worked in an off-grid organic demonstration farm. I have been invited to speak in Morgan University, Georgetown University and international organizations. I launched the first Airbnb Experience/food tour in April 2018, this is my second food tour. There is also VEGAN food on this tour!

Where you'll be
This tour takes place in northwest Washington, DC nearby and long U Street in the Shaw community. We will visit nearly a dozen heritage sites. Among them is the African American Civil War Memorial, a world heritage site, donated to the people of the United States. All locations are near one another and the total walking distance is half of a mile.
