What you'll do

This tour is ideal for those spending holidays on the Adriatic coast and looking for something different and interesting to do on a late afternoon.
The meeting will take place directly at the estate, in Castel di Lama, at about 10 minutes drive from San Benedetto del Tronto and Ascoli Piceno.
We will visit the ancient cellar where wines have been produced since 1896, standing as the only historic winery of Marche region. The property is an ancient centre sharecropping local agricultural company, recently renovated and equipped with modern machinery suitable for the production of high quality wines. Twenty hectares vineyards descend from the hills around Castel di Lama towards the valley of the River Tronto, which forms the natural border between Le Marche and the Abruzzi region. What makes the wines there produced special is not only their location at a geographical and cultural crossroad, but particularly a climate characterised by a refreshing mixture of salty breezes from the nearby Adriatic Sea and the light winds wafting down from the Sibillini Mountains.
Once we have completed the visit of the cellar, with the vintner's explanation of the wine-making procedures and of the history of the estate, you will taste the wine produced together with a selection of local delicacies especially arranged to welcome you.

Born and raised in Ascoli Piceno, I'm passionate about local culture and history. Wine and food are a huge part of the Italian folklore, and having been in touch with the wine producing reality throughout the years allowed me a greater insight into this exciting reality.
Good wine is not only about tasting something delicious, it is for me mostly about experiencing a story made of rediscovery, perseverance, continuity and respect for the land. Look through the glass, it will tell you about a relentless love.

It was a truly authentic and original experience far from touristic mass production experiences. The hosts and owners of the vineyard were very friendly, speak excellent English and presented amazing food, wine and stories. We would recommend this experience to everybody visiting this area.

I would even give more than 5 stars for the experience if possible. The two hosts were very welcoming and gave us a deep insight into their passion for the winemaking culture. Furthermore, the food offered next to the wine was extremely delicious, regional and prepared with great skill and love.
