What you'll do

The street photography experience in Bogotá is a total immersion in the heart of the Colombian megalopolis.
It is not a tourist visit but a humanist encounter with the inhabitants of Bogotá: Los Bogotanos.

Based on two axes of development (theoretical and practical), I share with you my advice and tips during a three-hour walk in the center of Bogotá.
From the International Center to the "Plaza de Bolivar" we will walk mainly on the Carrera 7, which has become 100% pedestrian.

In the program of our exchanges:
What is "street photography";
Why "street photography";
What to photograph in the street;
How to overcome your fear and become invisible in the street;
Lessons from the masters of street photography (Martin Parr, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Daniel Arnold)
Equipment, techniques and settings.

Of course, with many practical exercises in contact with the diversity that offers us the photogenic city of Bogotá.

In addition to the oral advice of your humble servant, you will receive a free print book (with photos) containing all the topics covered in this workshop.

I am a documentary photographer.
As an independent professional, I work mainly for the humanitarian sector, documenting the activities of NGOs or aid and development organizations.
Deeply inspired by the human and its environment, I share my expertise of street photography in the streets of Bogotá.
This practice reveals for me the interaction between man and society. So it is a way to document humanity (except that instead of writing, I use my camera). In the end, I am a sociologist with a camera.
Trained in one of the best photography schools in Bogotá, I propose to introduce you to street photography by walking through the city center and discover the real Bogotá. Tips, tricks and practical exercises are shared during this workshop

Where you'll be

The way is simple, we leave the International Center (appointment in front of the national museum) to go down to the Bolivar Square by the Carrera 7 and its few adjoining streets.

In contact with the "Bogotanos", we will discover the daily reality of downtown Bogotá (covered galleries, shops, restaurants, street vendors, passers-by).

More tips

Bogotá is a city with a changing climate. It is not uncommon that is rain an hour or more, even on a sunny day.
For this, I advise travelers to bring solar creen (strictly necessary at 2600m of altitude) but also an umbrella or a light rain jacket.

What to bring

Camera (Reflex, compact, smartphone)
