TWO REVIEWS THAT DESCRIBE THE VIBE:
A quote from a guest: "There’s a decided ‘funkiness’ to the Bridge Street Inn and cottage, so if you’re the traveler who requires all things shiny & modern, need to have a space virtually hermetically sealed off from everything & everyone, or matching...this isn’t the place for you. Loved loved LOVED our stay."
A quote from a guest, “Brandon is a very responsive and diligent host. Check-in was very easy and smooth with clear instructions by the door. The toilets were also very clean with instructions to notify occupants how to clean up after ourselves with the tools and materials available in the most eco-friendly way. We loved that Brandon encouraged this within the house so as to keep the space clean as well as educate people about eco-friendliness! Upon reaching the space we also found an issue with our room, which Brandon resolved for us very quickly and generously. All in all this place was our favorite during 5 day road trip down the coast because of the hospitality and comfy stay.”

If you need more privacy next to the Bridge Street Inn (same property) is the Garden Tiny House. 2 bedrooms, kitchenette, living room, and bathroom. Available on Airbnb.
The Bridge Street Inn is a cozy European-style guest house located in the historic East Village of Cambria. Our 125 year old building offers charm and comfort. Small and unique private rooms with shared baths (and we have one private room with attached private toilet). Our spaces have the added benefit of a shared kitchen and social atmosphere. We value reuse, recycle, repurpose. Keeping the three R’s in mind we have created a decor that is functional, funky, and fun. We are always looking for cool objects, furniture, and art to make the Bridge Street Inn a one of a kind experience.
Be sure and look at the photos and the schematic of the Bridge Street Inn with room dimensions.
The Bridge Street Inn offers guests a self serve healthy light museli breakfast accompanied by a coffee/tea station. Our kitchen/lounge is open for guests to use in the morning and evening.
Guests have access to the Bridge Street Inn all day. The lounge, kitchen, and bathrooms are cleaned between 10AM to 4PM. "to describe my experience at Brandon's Inn seemed to me too inefficient without including some of the other senses, that's the reason for doing it like the following:
the Inn is sweet, white wooden fences, white exterior lovely hand painted signs,
Geraniums and Calendula fights for the best spot to show off, the lavender as well peppermint struggles for the best place with Blackberries and all over the property is capuchin cresses
the interior is surprisingly spacious.
We will be witness how Frank Zappa meets Martha Stewart: Art on walls, flowers on bedsheets and linen
..every room a new impression ..
from Grannies Home to flowerpunk your eyes will soak in all hungrily.
besides that wood has always a warm touch
( the house the fences ,the chairs in every room and in most of the showers, big dining table made out of one big slice of tree )
the sheets, are soft and cozy, Books to touch. old vinyl to discover and to handle with care,
in the backyards:
mystic pathways, berries to pick, and fennel to rip.
music! radio or old vinyl records, birds, turkeys, raccoons and their tiny feet scurrying over the roof, a deer running majestically along the mystic path, wind whispering through tree tops and if the wind is in the right direction you can listen to the mammals singing underlined with the orchestra of sea waves
Sea air, pines, Californian sagebrush, capuchin cresses, fennel, berries, old wood, coffee, cinnamon, air dried laundry, lavender, geraniums, lemongrass, lemons and cherry prune."

Day 1: 8 miles North of the Inn is the Hearst Castle The Castle offers multiple daily tours. Across from the castle is the William Randolph Hearst Memorial Beach. Sea for Yourself Kayak Outfitters offers tours and kayak/paddleboard rentals. A short walk from the beach is Sebastian's General Store. Inside you can enjoy a causual-chic grass fed Hearst burger and the Hearst Ranch Winery wine bar.
Day 2: 23 miles North of the Inn is Salmon Creek Falls. This is your opportunity to explore the southern part of Big Sur. Between Cambria and Salmon Creek Falls are many unpopulated beaches with no cell phone reception. One of my favorites is Carpoforo Beach. Salmon Creek Falls trail system offers amazing picnic spots like at Estrella Camp, swimming holes, and hiking. Just south of Salmon Creeks Falls is Ragged Point. A perfect stop to enjoy a cup of coffee with amazing views. Also between Cambria and the falls are the most interesting critters called Elephant Seals. Well worth a stop.
Day 3: Cambria day to have a no drive day. Explore the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. Catch the trail a few blocks from the Inn. Hike all the way to the ocean. Take a book, postcards, and journal to Moonstone Beach. Enjoy Cambria's many restaurants, coffee shops, galleries and yoga studios.
When planning your Cambria trip don't forget your surfboard to surf weirdo's break, sturdy boots to hike Fiscalini Ranch Reserve, bicycle to pedal to the elephant seals, yoga mat to use at Tula Yoga, a thirst for coffee/wine/beer tasting, an empty belly to enjoy delicious restaurants, Friday aesthetic dance, and reusable grocery bag to fill with locally grown Cambria produce from Soto's True Earth Market for epic picnics or meet the farmers at the Friday farmer's market.
