This fine studio has granite counters, dishwasher, gas stove, 4 closets, updated bath, queen bed, village square view, own Wi-Fi. With bamboo & tile floors, it's a standout in the iconic River Place South building. Close to DC's trendy Georgetown & minutes by foot from Rosslyn metro station, 1 stop to downtown. Leafy, campus-like grounds, resort-style pool, dreamy in-house gym, free fitness classes, sauna, steam room, on-site market, dry cleaner, hair salon. Cycle to Amazon's new campus or DC.
This is a superb studio with a full kitchen in the highly popular, often-updated, River Place South building, minutes from DC by metro, bus or foot. It's a straight shot by metro -- or bicycle -- to Amazon's newly announced headquarters expansion site. By bike, you'd ride about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) on the paved Mount Vernon Trail, alongside the historic Potomac River shoreline, to the Arlington area that's been tapped for the big new Amazon presence after a nationwide selection process. River Place itself is a leafy, resort-style complex, 1-1/2 blocks from the Rosslyn metro station. This 7th-floor studio features bamboo hardwood and tile floors, 32-inch wall-mounted flat panel TV, Cararra marble bathroom vanity, private Wi-Fi network, and direct access to the sprawling, 10,000-square-foot, in-house fitness center with late-model equipment. Sunny with huge wall-to-wall picture windows; four closets including a walk-in closet; and built-in, oak-clad bookcases, the studio is fully furnished in contemporary style and fully equipped with kitchenware and linens. The unit is 406 square feet. It includes a tiled kitchen with granite counters, under-cabinet lighting and Whirlpool "White Ice" dishwasher. Queen-sized bed, 60" wide (152 cm) by 80" (200 cm) long. From the apartment, you may stroll across the picturesque Key Bridge in minutes to D.C.'s trendy Georgetown neighborhood of ethnic restaurants, lively clubs and busy nightlife, as well as Georgetown University. Also within walking distance are George Washington University and George Mason University's Arlington campus. Everything is at your fingertips from this apartment -- it's ultra convenient for working or studying in Washington D.C. and surrounding areas. Another nearby treasure is Theodore Roosevelt Island, an 88.5-acre national memorial and nature preserve in the Potomac. The island is crisscrossed by nature trails and boardwalk that transports you from the urban environment. It's also home to a free, weekly, volunteer-led, 5K run Saturdays at 9 a.m. All levels of runners are welcome. Zipcar and Capital BikeShare stations each are virtually at the doorstep of the River Place campus. The River Place South building is the most updated part of the well-known, gated community. Recent building upgrades included new windows, laundry room, hallways, roof, lobby, mail room, gym. A concierge is on duty in the upscale lobby, completely renovated in 2017. The community's amenities include a resort-style outdoor pool with lap lanes and Jacuzzi-like hot whirlpool. A gatehouse that controls vehicular entry is staffed 24/7. Also featured: the in-house health club with late-model cardio and strength equipment; an on-site grocery store (open until at least 11 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends), hair salon/spa and dry cleaner/tailor shop. On-site garage and surface parking is typically available @$100 to $125 per month, depending on location. Early check-in on move-in day also may be available. If so, we're happy to accommodate. Washer/dryers are on the building's first floor, operated with quarters or debit or credit card. The updated laundry room features washers and dryers that were designed to text you when a load is finished. The River Place South building overlooks on one side the Potomac River and DC's glowing white marble, granite and sandstone monumental core, including the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Kennedy Center and Capitol Dome. Another view showcases the Iwo Jima Monument National Park, home to the sculpture of U.S. Marines planting the flag during World War II's Battle of Iwo Jima. This apartment features a rolling, village-square view of the River Place complex and Rosslyn beyond. The property lies close to jogging and biking trails along the Potomac River, upscale shopping in nearby Clarendon and acclaimed dining. You may want to try, for instance, the Quarter Deck -- a popular crab shack with sunny terrace noted for freshly steamed Maryland Blue Crabs, scallops, oysters, crab cakes and frozen Key Lime pie. And just one block from the River Place gatehouse, Michelin-starred chef Fabio Trabocchi is crossing the Potomac River for the first time in his Washington career to open a second location of his Northwest D.C. pasta house this spring if not before. A Michelin-starred chef's newest restaurant, that is, is coming soon to the block nearest you. For touring, the location is also unsurpassed: 5 minutes' walk to the Rosslyn Metro station, an intersection of the Orange, Blue and (newest) Silver metro lines. One stop away on the Orange line is DC's Foggy Bottom Metro stop, George Washington University and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Separately, a $1 shuttle bus whisks you over the Key Bridge to Georgetown and then to Dupont Circle, the beating heart of DC's intellectual life (home to some of the nation's most prestigious think tanks and research institutions, including the Brookings Institution, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the German Marshall Fund, The Eurasia Center, the Peterson Institute and the School of Advanced International Studies of The Johns Hopkins University). Restaurants, shops, post office, banks, co-working spots, Safeway supermarket, Target Express and CVS drug store are all around the corner from River Place, either along or next to Wilson Boulevard, Arlington's main thoroughfare. It's hard to imagine a more convenient location in the D.C. area. Notes: The Iwo Jima Marine Corps War Memorial adjacent to River Place is a major D.C. landmark. It's home to the Sunset Parade, a stirring free performance Tuesday evenings during the summer months by the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, with the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. Crowds gather at the Memorial on the 4th of July to watch the national fireworks display. The D.C. Circulator bus runs between Dupont Circle, Georgetown and Rosslyn. For just $1, you may hop on the Circulator at the corner of 19th St. N. and N. Moore St. -- about five minutes' from River Place -- and zip across the Key Bridge into D.C. For the return trip, pick up the bus in Dupont or Georgetown. Buses run every 10 minutes from 7:00 a.m. - midnight Sunday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m. on weekends. In addition, there are two private bus companies that run between Rosslyn and New York City. Vamoose Bus provides service several times daily from N Lynn Street in Rosslyn -- about five minutes' walk from River Place -- to Penn Station/Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan. The cost may be as low as $20.00 depending on how far ahead a ticket is booked. Tripper Bus provides daily service from nearby 1901 N. Moore Street to the Macy's flagship store on 34th Street in Manhattan. Super-convenient connections to DC and northern Virginia by car, bus, metro, bicycle and foot. Also a snap to get to the area's Dulles (IAD) and Reagan National (DCA) airports. DC's trendy Georgetown is just across the historic Key Bridge. And Rosslyn itself is taking off. A Michelin-starred chef is opening his first Virginia property one block away. Breathtaking River/DC Monument views from the leafy, gated campus. In November 2018, Amazon ended a widely publicized nationwide search for its headquarters expansion. This fine studio lies opposite DC's trendy Georgetown shopping area. It's minutes from Rosslyn metro station, where 3 subway lines meet. Iwo Jima park view; dreamy in-house gym; free fitness classes; resort-style pool; hot tub in rock garden setting; sauna; steam room; concierge. Also dry cleaner; hair salon; grocery - all on-site. Gleaming bamboo hardwood floors, 4 closets, Wi-Fi, wall-mounted 32" TV, granite kitchen counter top, dishwasher, gas stove, 1 metro stop to D.C. Parking available.
Available starting on or about Aug. 31 for a minimum lease of six months. This is a higher-end studio in a leafy, resort-style, gated complex, one-and-a-half blocks from Rosslyn metro. The ultra-conveniently located community is called River Place. It's just across the Potomac River from D.C.'s trendy Georgetown area -- an historic university hub of cafes, clubs, restaurants, and upscale shopping. The apartment features gleaming bamboo hardwood floors, full tiled kitchen, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher and 4-burner gas stove), 32-inch wall-mounted flat panel TV, and Cararra marble bathroom vanity, among other fine furnishings. Newest addition: a white leather Loft loveseat by Zuo, with polished stainless steel frame. It also includes its own, dedicated, high-speed Wi-Fi network -- separate from the slower, building-wide network. The highly popular River Place South building houses a 10,000+-square-foot fitness center with late-model cardio and strength equipment, large stretching area, sauna and steam room. The fitness center offers free classes in such things as Piyo, which merges pilates and yoga, and Tai Chi, the Chinese martial art practiced for whole body fitness. The apartment itself is sunny with a double-pane wall-to-wall picture window; four closets, including a walk-in closet; and built-in oak-clad bookcases. It's fully furnished in contemporary style and fully equipped with all kitchenware and linens. This 6th-floor unit is 406 square feet and overlooks the Iwo Jima Memorial National Park, hallowed ground of the U.S. Marine Corps. The full-sized double bed, with solid wood frame and matching headboard, measures 54 inches wide by 74 inches tall (137 cm x 187 cm). From the apartment, you may stroll across the picturesque Key Bridge in 15 minutes or less to D.C.'s Georgetown, home to Georgetown University and close to George Washington University. Everything is at your fingertips here -- it's ultra-convenient for touring Washington D.C. and surrounding areas. Also in easy walking distance of the apartment is Theodore Roosevelt Island, an 88.5-acre nature preserve in the Potomac crisscrossed by nature trails and boardwalk that transports you from the urban environment. A weekly community jog/race takes place there on Saturday mornings. You can run, jog, walk, push children in a stroller, and/or range in age from 5 to 105, as the run's website says. The red-brick, medium-rise building, known as River Place South, is the most updated part of the gated community. A concierge is on duty in a newly renovated, upscale lobby. Community amenities include a resort-style outdoor pool with lap lanes and Jacuzzi-like hot whirlpool. Also featured: the in-house health club with late-model cardio and strength equipment; an on-site grocery store open until at least 11 pm seven days a week; a hair salon/spa and dry cleaner/tailor shop. On-site parking is available by special arrangement. Garage spots typically rent for $125 per month, surface spots for $100. Early check-in on your arrival date also may be available. If so, we're very happy to accommodate. Washer/dryers are located on the building's first floor, operated with a credit or debit card (or quarters). The machines are new enough to have been designed to send a text message when a load is finished. The cost is limited to $1.50 per load for washing plus $1.50 for drying. Opposite the apartment is the iconic Raising the Flag sculpture of six marines atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. The property also lies close to jogging and biking trails along the Potomac, trendy shopping in nearby Clarendon and acclaimed restaurants. Check out the terrace of the nearby Quarterdeck, a storied crab shack noted for Maryland Blue Crabs, crab cakes, oyster sandwiches, clam chowder and a tart, frozen Key Lime pie. What's more: just one block from the River Place gatehouse, Michelin-starred chef Fabio Trabocchi is crossing the Potomac River for the first time in his Washington career to open a second location of his Northwest D.C. pasta house. A Michelin-starred chef's newest restaurant, that is, is coming soon to the block nearest you. For touring, the location is unsurpassed: 5 minutes' walk to the Rosslyn Metro station, an intersection of the Orange, Blue and (new) Silver line to Tyson's Corner and hub of at least 16 bus lines. Only one stop away on the Orange line is DC's Foggy Bottom Metro stop, which serves George Washington University, the World Bank, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the U.S. State Department. Separately, a $1 shuttle bus whisks you over the Key Bridge to Georgetown and then to Dupont Circle, the heart of DC's intellectual life -- (home to some of the nation's most prestigious think tanks and research institutions, including the Brookings Institution, the Center for Strategic & International Studies, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the German Marshall Fund, The Eurasia Center, the Peterson Institute and the School of Advanced International Studies of The Johns Hopkins University). Restaurants, shops, post office, bank, Target Express, a CVS drug store and a Safeway supermarket are all within a few blocks of River Place, either on or next to Wilson Boulevard, Arlington's main road. Notes: The Iwo Jima Marine Corps War Memorial adjacent to River Place is a major D.C. landmark, visited by more than 1 million annually. It's the traditional home to the Sunset Parade, a riveting, free performance Tuesday evenings during the summer months by the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps with the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. You can hear the rehearsals and the show from the apartment -- an extra bonus. Crowds also gather at the Memorial on the 4th of July to watch the national fireworks display. The D.C. Circulator bus runs between Dupont Circle, Georgetown and Rosslyn. For just $1, you can hop on the Circulator -- about five minutes' from River Place -- and zip across the Key Bridge into D.C. For the return trip, pick up the bus in Dupont or Georgetown. Buses run every 10 minutes from 7:00 a.m. - midnight Sunday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m. on weekends. Those over age 62 ride at half price. There are two private bus companies that run between Rosslyn and New York City. Vamoose Bus provides service several times daily from 1801 N Lynn Street in Rosslyn -- about five minutes' walk from River Place -- to Penn Station/Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan. The cost ranges from $20.00 to $50.00, depending on time of day and whether you opt for deluxe "Gold" service. Tripper Bus provides daily service from nearby 1901 N. Moore Street to the Macy's flagship store on 34th Street in Manhattan, for similar charges.
