Walking into this newly renovated open plan artists studio with its restored wooden floors, airy high ceilings and natural fibre finishes immediately lifts the spirits and lowers the heartbeat. There is no doubt that this is a space to rest, reflect and be restored. Walking distance to the majestic Greyton mountains or our village high street means you and your family or friends can choose to be as busy or as still as you like. If nature is medicine, this space is your personal intensive care.
The availability of a king sized bed means this tranquil space can be reconfigured depending on your needs and is ideal for a couple looking for a personal space, a family or a group of friends. We created this space for friends and family who are looking to get out of the city, reconnect with themselves, each other and nature in a peaceful setting, with all the comforts of a homely space. Greyton is a cul-de-sac town, in that it's the end of the road, meaning that everyone who visits, came for a reason. Similarly, our guests are those who are looking for a space to breathe deeply, fill their hearts and minds with transformative nature and take a moment to reflect. It is a mindful space. As frequent retreat attendees ourselves, my wife and I both had the desire to answer the question "what if we could live on retreat?" This space is our answer to that question, and sharing it, our dream.
With an abundant local saturday market, as well as numerous mountain streams and gorges your days can be as filled or empty as you choose. For those looking for deep rest, a daybed under a tree may be your activity of choice.

Living like a Greytonian. Karin's Place is one of two cottages located on the property and it's the home of the owner. Think country, cottage and comfortable. Located within 5 minutes walk of the village centre, this two bedroomed self catering establishment has quality furnishings and all the mods and cons for a fun weekend. A cast iron stove for chilly winter nights and a large veranda for lazy Sunday luncheons await you. It is not suitable for babies and children.
Karin's Place is home from home. Unlike most houses in Greyton, this one is set away from the road giving guests that extra bit of privacy. It is a simple cottage tastefully furnished. Regret, but our space is not suitable for babies and young children as we do not have the amenities, kids safety (cast iron stove) or covered plugs.
Oak Street in Greyton is one of the sought after roads in the village. Lined with trees and leiwater channels, this old part of town reminds of an English country village.

Greystone Cottage was the name of our Grandparents home, were we spent many happy days celebrating family, good times and creating lasting memories. It is this same spirit that we have brought to Greystone Cottage in the aptly named Greyton. With charming furniture and decor we have created a comfortable space that takes us back to the nostalgic memories of our childhood. Greytstone Cottage is all about escaping, relaxation, and reconnecting.
Our cottage is positioned on a plot that runs in between 2 streets, with the Gobos River running through it on the one end. Tall trees provide beautiful shade during summer and the garden is filled with indigenous flora which flowers throughout the year. With no WIFI or TV you are encouraged to talk, read, listen to music, cook, swim, play, walk or simply do nothing and enjoy the mountain views and what nature has to offer. The cottage lends itself to relaxing, unwinding and forgetting about all the stresses of daily life. "Recharge your batteries."
Greyton is rightly regarded as one of the most beautiful Villages in the Cape. Country lanes, mountains, babling leiwater channels, dusty roads, and oak lined streets add to the charm. With many restaurants, coffee shops and art galleries all with in walking distance you will have more than enough to keep you occupied. For those interested in more adventurous activities there is hikes, mountain biking, horse riding, swimming in the river, wine tasting and lots more. The weekly Saturday morning market is also highly recommended. Greyton is often called the most beautiful village in South Africa and is renowned for its country lifestyle. Many artists and people wanting a slower pace of life have settled in the village, but it comes alive on weekends with a not-to-be-missed Farmer's Market featuring local and artisanal produce, arts and crafts, regular classical and jazz concerts, and good food at the many owner-run restaurants. The area is fantastic for outdoor pursuits, and is particularly popular for mountain biking, hiking, trail running and horse-riding.
