We live in an 1895 Victorian top flat with 12 foot ceilings on the best block in San Francisco. Our calendar is always up to date. Location Location Location~ Our home is close to the Mission, Lower Haight, and 2.5 blocks from the Castro theater. The underground is 3 blocks away, with a street car even closer. The room is small and cosy, but a great price for one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US! Please fill out your profile if you are interested~and make sure to arrange a time to meet prior to your arrival, I lead a busy lifestyle, work full time, and wouldn't want to miss anyone! Check in is at 5 and we are 37 steps up from street level. Restaurants are plentiful and beautiful Dolores Park is quite close. Your room has a twin day bed 75 inches long with a desk and a solid door. The room is 9.25 feet by 8 feet. Amenities include wireless and a gorgeous full kitchen. We have one cat that enjoys company almost as much as we do and a sweet rescue pooch. Our flat gets more light than any other home I've been to in my 13 years of living in this great town. For all you foodies out there BiRite Creamery, Tartine, Delfina's Pizza and Proper are within 4.5 blocks of our front door. Michelin rated Range is just a few farther. As much as we love bikes, and we do, we don't have space for storage. If you rent one please return it at the end of the day or lock up on the street at your own risk. Please ask if you would like to have a friend for a short visit.
  • Nice place, excellent host!

  • Brenda is very welcoming and kind host. The apartment is located in the heart of the Castro, close to stores, bars, cafes. The room is perfect for a single traveler. Staying at Brenda's was a pleasure and I recommend it highly!

  • Brenda, Thank you for my wonderful stay in my old neighborhood. I failed to mention bc we started talking about all sorts of things, but I used to live right on dorland st and it brought me back to such happiness. Give boo and moomoo kisses, and lmk when you're in ny! <3 C

  • My host, Brenda, made the trip a total first class experience. She was like a sister or best friend. The whole flat is spacious, homey, and very clean. If you want to be in the Castro area, this accommodation is ideal. I cannot rave enough about this trip and Airbnb experience.

    Gary2012-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Brenda was a fantastic first Airbnb experience. Her place was lovely and comfortable, and she was great to talk with and very laid back. Boo and Moomoo were excellent hosts as well! The location was as convenient as I had hoped. I'd definitely stay here when back in SF!

  • I had a great stay with Brenda, her flatmate and her pets :) She's a genial and sweet host and we always had nice conversations. Her house is really perfectly located between Castro and the Mission, you can reach any place in the city easily! The house and the room are finely decorated. I felt at home and would have loved to stay longer there! Thanks Brenda!!

  • This was my first time using Air BnB and Brenda gave me a great first experience. She was very welcoming, friendly and helpful, providing me with lots of useful info on the local area. As the name suggests, the apartment is perfectly located, surrounded by excellent cafes, restaurants and bars and just a short walk to the Muni Metro for easy access to downtown. The room was perfect for my needs and I slept well every night. I would definitely use Air BnB again and highly recommend Brenda and her apartment.

It has been tastefully remodeled to make a very comfortable living space. It consists of one very large room with a sleeping area sectioned off by curtains. It also has an attractive bathroom and a closet. There are areas for sleeping, dining, cooking, working and relaxing. The kitchenette has a fridge, two burners, a microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and filtered water on tap, as well as all the kitchenware and tableware you may need. The bed has a very comfortable queen size mattress. It's all quite romantic, but you can also sleep an additional two people on the comfortable fold down sofa. You'll have the use of wireless high speed cable internet and widescreen dish TV and dvd player. The apartment is completely separate from our living space so you'll have it all to yourself. It has a grand and gracious yet completely cozy feel. We like to host visitors and we'll be happy to give you information and tips on request. You'll love our neighborhood where you'll find some of the city's sunniest weather, best affordable restaurants, great views and easy parking. Transportation to Downtown (about 3.5 miles to Civic Center) or any of the San Francisco attractions is easy with frequent buses. Two minutes from the front door you can catch a MUNI bus to the nearby BART (underground) station. Or take a walk over Bernal Hill to BART and the Mission District and see some amazing views of the city and the Bay. Freeway access is nearby and easy.
Bernal Heights is a very popular neighborhood. It's interesting, safe, convenient, beautiful, quiet. The best place to live in SF!
  • Really nice place at nice location. The sunrise over SF from the top of Bernal Heights we shall never forget. Studio has everything what 4-member family needs.

    Zeljko2013-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot in the city. With the public transport it will be easy to know all the city from here.

    Darío2018-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and quaint studio, exactly like in the picture. Safe and quiet neighborhood. If you are looking for space and privacy, this is the place to rent. I was very pleased with my stay.

    Cristina2014-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was my first experience of using Airbnb and it was excellent! Mike And Nic are very welcoming, responsible and unobtrusive. Their studio is a real masterpiece, located in a unique old house, very clean, spacious, cozy, comfortable and atmospherical, equipped with everything we needed (including cooking stuff, bed sheets and towels as well as great collection of SF maps and guides). The neighborhood is very nice, quiet and safe, there are excellent cafes, shops and several bus stops within a walking distance. We enjoyed our staying and hope for coming back!

    Kristina2015-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay. The accommodation worked well for our family of four and we really liked the Bernal Heights location. It's off the tourist trail but close enough to the city centre and attractions. Mike and Nic were relaxed and considerate hosts.

    Geoff2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Mike and Nic's place. It is super cozy! Good location--we were able to take an Uber pretty much anywhere we wanted to go for about $6-$10. Mike and Nic were quick to respond if we needed anything. We would stay here again!

    Melissa2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, lots of parking (a big plus in SF) very quiet at night, can get to anywhere in the city in reasonable time. If you are planning to cook a lot, it's a bit of a challenge but for snacks and breakfast is fine. All in all a good experience.

    Douglas2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Studio was a great place to stay during our trip. It had everything you can need. There are plenty of great places within walking distance and it is close to a bus stop, just down the hill. Also, the studio is next to Bernal Heights park which has great views of San Francisco. Mike and Nic were great host. They are very friendly and accommodating and I definitely recommend them.

One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train, and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar. There is a pull-out twin bed in the living room as well.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels.
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby. As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
  • We loved staying in Sara's garden retreat. It was exactly as described and the pictures are true to life. It is a lovely, lovely apartment. The location was perfect for us too. Loads of amazing houses to admire (just like in the movies), breakfast at the cool coffee houses on Cole, then an easy bus ride to any of the key tourist attractions in San Francisco. Sara made us feel very welcome at the same time as giving us space to come and go as we pleased. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

    Catherine2015-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming host! We loved the fresh cookies and all of the amenities. Unit and neighborhood exactly as described in the listing! A great place for spending the holidays in SF!

    Whitney2014-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sara is a great host - super friendly and communicative. Her apartment has a great location, 1 block from Haight-Ashbury with great shopping/food/drink/nightlife options on your doorstep but on a quiet residential street. We went to see the famous 'painted ladies' but to be honest Sara's neighbourhood has a far more beautiful housing stock and architecture. There are also a couple of beautiful parks nearby with amazing views. Every other neighbourhood of SF is within a 10-15min drive so this is the perfect base to explore from. Thanks Sara!

    Jonathan2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was so easy to work with and friendly. The space was clean and comfortable, really eclectic and fun neighborhood! This was our first Airbnb experience and if we had known how nice this was going to be, we definitely would have stayed longer. Boo was also very sweet and fun to hang with in the backyard!!

    Celina2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a delightful experience staying at Sara's airbnb in the Haight. The accommodation was very comfortable, especially the beds (even the pull-out); and Sara had provided coffee, tea, orange juice and a couple of beers, so we felt very welcome. The room is very quiet and convenient for the bus into town, and Sara allowed us to use her quality washing machine, so we couldn't have asked for anything more - thanks Sara!

    Kathryn2015-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying at Sara's apartment. It was a beautifully decorated, comfortable, relaxing retreat which was a delight to return to after long days exploring San Francisco. The neighbourhood was safe and exiting to explore and public transport was seconds away. Sara was great to communicate with and highly accommodating with our check in & out times. I would highly recommend her apartment to anyone visiting SF.

    Marie2015-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at Sara's. It was easy (including the free parking on street) and really close to Haight Street/Golden Gate Park. It was comfy - so much so we wanted to stay in more rather than see the sights (we did see the sights, though!) We were made to feel very welcome and there was lots of good local info to hand too. We would definitely recommend this to others.

    Alice2016-09-07T00:00:00Z

Relax around the fire pit on the private patio at this garden Craftsman studio. Smooth concrete, edison bulb lighting, and chunky furniture create an industrial look, while the open-plan layout keeps things relaxed and comfortable.
This studio promises to absolutely take your breath away upon first sight. Cool and romantic, carefully decorated and recently renovated by master architects; the space gives you plenty of room to breath while still retaining a sense of invigorating calm. Abundantly spacious with the addition of our beautiful back garden and shack - this home guarantees the stay of a life time.
The Outer Richmond holds all of the excitement of San Francisco while retaining a low-key feel. Nowhere else has unique and delicious eateries, a surfers' beach, museums, parks, hiking, and historical sites all within close walking distance.
  • Josh's place is just as beautiful as in the pictures if not more so! It's a studio layout and it flows so well! Definitely felt at home. It's cozy and inviting. I wish we had more time to just chill and enjoy the backyard, but my sister and I were on a mission to see all of San Fran in two days! We slept like babies! Josh communicated very well and checked in to make sure we were alright and didn't need anything during our stay. I'd definitely stay there again in the future!

  • Very lovely, convenient efficiency. Beautiful garden

    Cara2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay in San Francisco. Loved being near the beach, Golden Gate Park, and incredible cliff views of the Pacific. The space was a perfect place for my mom and I to stay for our first trip to San Francisco. Thanks Josh!

    Kamila2016-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • I recomend this apt. It is very well equiped. It has a backyard with lobely flowers that I would have liked to spend more time if it would have not been winter time. Think twice if you want to rent a car as Uber works very well and parking in SF could be a nightmare and very expensive.

  • I loved staying here! Jeff and Mike were welcoming and helpful hosts, the room itself is separate from their own home so it feels very private, and it's just steps away from great restaurants and shops on Fillmore. I will be recommending this place to friends and family traveling to San Francisco. Thank you again!

    Aja2015-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • I found the room and set up as I expect and Jeffrey was kind and helpful. The location is in one of my favorite SF neighborhoods. Parking was a breeze. Thank you!

  • Great place to stay. Clean and as listed. Check in was easy.

    Kyle2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was cool and helpful throughout the stay. The room was clean and the amenities exceeded my expectations. The private restroom is roomy and very clean with towels and toiletries available. The closet space is also very big if you need to put things in there. The neighborhood is very nice and all walking distance. We had a car and parking overnight is free on the side streets, just check the signs for street cleaning. It turned out for our trip this location was amazingly centered as downtown, land ends, SF bridge, Fishermen's wharf all felt equal distant which is all convenient.

    Phi2015-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely perfect. Jeffrey was a great host and it was just as described. There are tons of excellent restaurants nearby and in a great location. Would definitely stay here agin!

This beautiful two bedroom/one bath apartment is located in the Castro/Duboce Triangle and in walking distance to Upper and Lower Haight, NOPA, and the Mission. Lot's of transportation, corner stores, grocery stores, and fantastic restaurants are in walking distance. If you come with car, street parking is quite easy here but it is restricted. However, there is paid parking around the corner at the hospital garage and there is also a street nearby where you can park your car for a week.
What I love most about the apartment is how truly bright it is. Big windows allow for lot's of natural lighting. The space is quite big (for San Francisco standards) with a nice large kitchen for cooking and socializing. The guest room is facing the back which is quiet and shielded from street noise.
The neighborhood is quiet and safe with cute little streets, beautiful houses and lot's of parks. And if you are in the mood for entertainment you only need to walk a few block to find great places to eat and drink and people watch.

  • Budi was very welcoming and helpful. The room was nice, and everything I needed was laid out. Check in was easy with the key box. The neighborhood was pleasant and safe with a number of restaurants and small businesses.

  • Very convenience place to stay with reasonable price in SF. And many thanks to Mr Budi to have a parking space for us :)

  • Well located, large room, beautiful Victorian house and friendly host.

  • Budi and Pat were extremely welcoming, including bringing me a bouquet of fresh flowers. I slept soundly and love the neighborhood, a short walk to a marvelous Sunday Farmer's Market.

  • Great host, great neighborhood! Budi is very flexible, friendly, and helpful. Budi made us feel very welcome and at home, and was always available if we had any questions or needed anything. The neighborhood is great - lots of good food in the area. The neighborhood is quiet and full of very friendly people. Very close to the presidio park and golden gate park, which is awesome. Really enjoyed staying here!

  • To be recommended, good place and close to anything.

  • Budi’s place is in a great location. It’s away from all the city hustle bustle but still in the city. Convenient location for transportation. He’s responds back to questions that you may have. Thanks again Budi!

  • Pros: Budi and Pat were very nice. Neat and comfy bedroom and access to the kitchen. Coffee and tea were readily available. Water and travel guides were provided. Nice location near Asian restaurants/shops and the Golden Gate Park. The parking spot alone made this place worth it, but it seemed like we were only able to park there because we checked in first. The couple who arrived shortly afterwards seemed upset... not sure what they ended up doing, since the whole neighborhood is metered 2-hour parking. Try to ask about the spot beforehand and make sure it won't be filled by another guest, since the description makes it sound guaranteed! Cons: although the kitchen and bathroom were superficially clean, upon closer inspection they were grimy. Dust, stains, hairs... they needed a deep clean. When I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, there were 5-6 huge daddy-long-legs hanging around the room, including one ON the roll of toilet paper. I'm not too squeamish but that bothered me! I was kinda scared to shower, but I did... water pressure was inconsistent. Bathroom was shared with 2-4 other guests so we had to wait to use it several times, which I guess we were warned about. It's an old house and you can hear everything. Overall we slept ok and it was fine for one night and the parking space was a lifesaver, but I feel like I didn't know what I was getting into! The bathroom would have been a deal breaker if I had seen it beforehand.

  • Stephens place is in a great location and close to the trolley & muni bus routes. Uber is so cheap especially if you share a ride. The space is quite busy, its a library for Stephen & Brians large book collection. They have lots of pamphlets of local attractions, restaurants etc. Duboce Ave cafe is fab & such varied food choices. Visiting from England food is quite different but main difference is the portions. BIG!

  • Stephens place was in a great location in the Castro neighborhood within walking distance of many local hot spots. The bed was very comfortable, and plenty of linens were provided. They hosted a new years eve party while we were there, and invited us to enjoy it with them. :)

  • We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much, Stephen and Brian helped us to get along in the city especially with the parking permits which worked out very fine and we got some great advices where to go and what to eat. Close by is the metro but I can recommend the advice of Stephen to take the Ford bikes they are just perfect and pricy, really great place to explore the whole city!

Private entry, sidewalk-level suite of living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath with artful touches in restored 1911 Edwardian. Close to beaches, GGate Park, GGate Bridge, groceries, cafes, restaurants on city-wide trolly line for memorable vacation/business/retreat. Easy drive to Marin.
The private sidewalk level suite, is clean and comfortable with original windows and doors providing natural light and fresh air. It's San Francisco living so you can be sure to hear the sounds of a trolley passing by and footsteps from family (and two friendly dogs) in the flat above. It’s real life in the City. SF STR permit number (4 zeroes) 949
We live in a friendly neighborhood with cafes and restaurants, national park, beaches and world-class museums, situated perfectly to explore San Francisco’s extraordinary cultural and natural beauty. Just step out the yellow door and take a short walk on the “neighborhood path” to Baker Beach. A little bit further in any direction will lead you right to the Golden Gate Bridge, Land's End and Ocean Beach. On your journeys walk through the neighborhood overlooking the Pacific Ocean to the Legion of Honor Museum in Lincoln Park, through Golden Gate Park to the DeYoung Museum and the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Afterward head over to the Arboretum for a picnic lunch next to its its lakes and gardens. If you prefer sidewalk fun, walk down Clement Street from 25th Avenue to Arguello (1st Avenue) stopping in at Green Apple Books with its extraordinary offering of new and used, explore the stores, and stop in at one of the many pubs and restaurants. Live like a local and take the California 1 electric trolley - aka the unofficial tour bus - the full 7 miles across the city to the Ferry Building (about a 2 hour walk.) On and off privileges on the trolley means you can step off when a neighborhood catches your curiosity - Fillmore District, Polk Gulch, North Beach - each has its own flavor and makes San Francisco such a great place to visit and live. If you are looking for a movie and dinner, there’s Pizetta 211 and the Four Star Theater just around the corner, two neighborhood not so secret gems. There's something for everyone.
  • This is certainly one of the best places we've stayed in ever since we started using airb&b. The apartment is charming and cosy, and also very quiet. The location is also great: the neighborhood is very pleasant, and there are numerous restaurants, grocery stores and play grounds (we were travelling with our baby daughter) in the vicinity; and the bus from California street takes you strait to more central neighborhoods. Finally we want to mention how well equipped and carefully arranged is the apartment, which has everything a guest might need. We really loved the place and will certainly try to come back.

    Maria Isabel2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • STAY HERE!! Dennis and Nancy were the most amazing hosts and the pictures do not do the apartment justice. The listing is accurate. The apartment was very welcoming and clean with clean blankets, towels, toiletries etc. The only thing I would point out to future guests is that it IS a basement apartment, so once you get past the yellow door you do have to walk through a small hallway (that is lit and decorated) until you arrive at the bright blue door that says "Welcome!" on it in chalk (we LOVED this touch!) Of course, the basement hallway did not bother us at all but just wanted to point out for those more high maintenance travelers out there. I would describe this apartment as quaint, lovely and decorated in a european style. Having traveled around Europe a lot we actually prefer smaller spaces that feel like home over those giant cookie cutter hotel rooms with way too much space, so this apartment was absolutely perfect. We went in Feb so it got a little chilly in the basement at night but there's a heated bed that you can control, as well as a great space heater the hosts provide. You can hear some noise from upstairs since, as I stated, it is the basement, but we did not mind it all! The neighborhood was more than we could've asked for and Dennis and Nancy left us maps of the neighborhood that had interesting spots and restaurants that they actually hand marked on it! There's a café two homes down and a grocery story right across the street. While not downtown the bus does stop right in front of the apartment (just make sure you have cash for the bus), it's an easy find for Lyft and Uber and you can walk everywhere. As a young woman I felt 100% safe in this neighborhood and in the apartment. They also left us a cellphone number with instructions to text if we got lost which was so kind. The kitchen is FANTASTIC. There's a hot plate that my boyfriend and I used to cook every day. In case you're questioning the legitimacy of the hot plate we were able to cook delicious chicken on it - it works great! Very cute outdoor private patio area - great for morning coffee. Staying at this listing made our trip 100x better than we imagined and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice time in this city. If we go back we will only stay here. Thank you Dennis and Nancy!!!

  • We communication with Dennis via email and we had no problem Dennis was prompt. We were quite self sufficient so didn't need any assistance. Interesting apartment and its situation in the building. A bit like being in a cellar. Very clean and homey. Unsuitable for tall people as very low ceilings and short small double bed. Also no television and poor WiFi reception. Very nice 'local' feel to area. good restaurants, cafes nearby. grocery store just across the road.

    Elizabeth2016-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great AirBnb. We used the CA1 bus to get into the city and enjoyed the rides. You are close enough to enjoy SF but a little distance away to have some quiet time.

    Debra2018-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely, cosy, special little place! When we arrived, all of the additional touches really made it feel like a home from home for us. The bed was very comfy and the addition of the electric blanket was very welcome after a day of travelling! We found the location really handy for local food and the bus into town was really easily caught from outside. All in all a lovely place to stay, we would recommend in a heartbeat!

    Tracy2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy and Dennis really go all out for their guests! The space is cozy and you feel at home right away. We especially enjoyed the lavender wall at the front entrance. I have never stayed in an Airbnb with so many amenities either. Amazing hosts, and in a great location! Highly recommend.

  • Dennis' Appartment was perfect for us. It has a Queen size bed and a big sofa. Everything was just as described and super clean. We walked to Baler Beach, which was very beautiful. We also visited Limantour Beach, which they suggested, and It was perfect. Thanks for everything, Jens and family

  • The apartment is very comfortable. everything is thought out to the smallest detail, in the kitchen there is absolutely everything necessary for cooking. very cool that the washing machine and dryer in the apartment. The apartment is clean and cozy. next to an incredible park, from which a beautiful view of the city. Thank you Jan and Bernard for everything:)

  • The stay at Jan apartment was really awesome. Jan is a really nice and friendly guy who will help you out if you have any troubles in SF. We appreciated the cleanliness a lot. In fact, we were the third people to stay in Jans apartment after he has done a renovation, so everything was really new. Much appreciated! Hope to come back one day. BR Tobias

  • A lovely home base to explore a great city. Highly recommended!

    Colleen2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This studio feels like the reveal in an HGTV design and renovation show - it's that well finished and decorated. It's extremely well laid out for the size with a queen, plenty of closet space, a comfy futon, upgraded everything, washer/dryer, dishwasher, two kinds of coffee maker, etc. The hosts were super responsive. The towels were fluffy, spare toiletries available and they even provided bathrobes! Not only was there every condiment you could need, they also provided English muffins, juice, milk, and UNBELEVABLY yummy Snickerdoodles!! They also provided several puzzles and games. Location: Delightful neighborhood with loads of parks nearby (some with amazing views), great restaurants (our faves were Blue Plate and Taqueria), tons of coffee shops, & bars that ranged from holes in the wall to hipster. Catching the 49 bus around the corner was an easy straight shot to Ghirardelli Square, or the BART a couple blocks further to Fisherman's Wharf. As Jan warned us, on-street parking nearby was difficult but not impossible to find, and my friend who took the SFO Airporter shuttle had an easy door-to-door ride. No car was used or needed once we arrived - mine stayed in one spot on the street for 3 nights. Only drawback, and it was a VERY minor one, was that sometimes you could hear the hosts moving about in the apt. above the studio. Didn't bother us at all (esp. since they were gone most of the time), but it was noticeable. There are 21 stairs to the front door, if that's a consideration for you - we considered it GOOD for us! As my friend told me when we left, and I wholeheartedly concur, we could absolutely see ourselves staying here again on a trip to SF!

    Julie2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jan's place is great... adorable in fact. I found it very comfortable for two adults. We brought our dogs and I liked that the apartment was on the second floor so my dogs didn't bark at every dog passing by. The kitchen had everything we needed. Jan stocked the fridge with the essentials - milk, creamer (thank you!), coffee, orange juice, English muffins. Enough to get us started - especially for a coffee addict like me. The bed was super comfortable. I couldn't tell if it was a queen or full sized bed, but it was enough room for two adults to fit comfortably. The bathroom was roomy enough as well. Everything is brand new - so it all works. The water pressure is fine. We'd definitely stay here again (and we will). The neighborhood has a lot to offer for food. We tried the curry pizza place a few blocks away which was pretty good. If you're looking for a place near the mission or a safe place to stay in SF that you can walk around and get places... this is a great choice. :)

    Babs2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed for a month and really loved my stay. The flat was compact, yet very efficient and looked and felt spacious. I was concerned about having the bed so close to the fridge, but it was a very quiet fridge. Everything was so comfortable about the space. The walk through the neighborhood was always enjoyable. I commuted everyday via a walk to the 24th and Mission Street BART stop and then it was only 3 quick stops to Market and Powell Streets. Nearby on Mission, I enjoyed a few nightly stops at great neighborhood bars - Virgil's and The Royal Cuckoo. And Safeway was a short walk- with great views on the way back home. Thanks Jan and Bernard for a wonderful stay. I wish I had San Francisco on my schedule again soon...but you'll certainly hear from me again someday.

    Erik2019-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the mission district. The apartment includes everything you would need. The couch is not big enough for two adults to sleep comfortably. Nice place.

  • I had a wonderful time at this wonderful cozy hostel. Super friendly and helpful staff, great location and very affable fellow guests. Should I ever come back to San Francisco I’ll definitely come back here!

  • Great and cheap way to stay in San Francisco. Within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and bars, and there is also a BART-station very close by, making it easy to get around all parts of town. If you want privacy, I would not recommend this hostel, as you will be sharing a room with up ot seven other people. For my part this was not a problem. It also helps to be a social person. Unfortunately I did not have much time to spend at the hostel, and therefore I was not able to partake in any of the social activities, but with just a little effort you can make new friends easily here. All in all it was a great stay.

  • This was a beautiful place in great location and the hosts were incredible

  • This was my first time using Airbnb and I had a great experience. The apartment was just like the pictures: very clean and modern and had everything we needed. Carlos was also very helpful in showing us around the apartment. He was very generous in accommodating my requests to make my stay comfortable. He was prompt in his responses. Bed was super comfortable and having Netflix on the TV screen was a blessing. The studio itself and surroundings had everything we needed. So convenient, definitely recommend this place!

  • If I had to choose between great hosts and great apartment, I would choose the first. But imagine if you would not have to make compromise and you could have both hosts and a wonderful place to live. Actually, there is no need to imagine this scenario: simply contact Graciela and Carlos. I can only reinforce what is already written in previous reviews: Graciela and Carlos are a wonderful couple who will do everything in their power to make your stay as comfortable as possible in their studio(s). As a matter of fact, my impression is that they will gladly run the extra mile in order to help. The apartment is one of the best ones I have ever lived in (and I have lived in many apartments and houses throughout 10 countries of Europe and Asia). I know where I will want to stay next time I come to San Francisco. To wrap it up, I can wholeheartedly recommend any of their apartments (even though I lived in only one). By having great and caring hosts like Graciela and Carlos, the only thing you need to "worry about" is to enjoy your stay in this wonderful city.

    Ivan2018-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts, great apartment. Best thing about it is that Carlos and Graciela were very available if I needed anything and very helpful at check-in. The best Air bnb experience I've had so far!

    Heather2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Carlos is a great host! He gives a proper and thorough orientation to the building and the condo! He shows you how to access the “other” building, and I’m so glad he did! One day the elevator was closed to the garage for “moving” and I had to enter the other building to get into the garage to get my car. I wouldn’t have known what to do if Carlos hadn’t shown me that other buildings access to the garage (there is no on sight office here as it’s not an apartment complex). The place was white glove clean! I love the decor! Carlos was quick to respond to any communication efforts. I would love to stay here again!

  • It was great staying at your studio for ~3 weeks. It's a great location, close to everything, but still quiet and comfortable indoors.

  • When you have great hosts, everything else falls in place. Carlos and Graciela were easily accessible when there was a need and made sure my stay was smooth. The studio apartment was clean and well equipped with all the amenities and was perfect for my stay.

  • Carlos was an excellent host, communicating quickly and allowing me to extend my stay multiple times. The unit is exactly as described and well appointed. It has everything you need for a stay in the city for work or pleasure. Would definitely recommend!

This spacious and newly renovated studio features spacious living area which opens directly onto a private deeded deck. Chef kitchen with electric range, custom cabinetry, breakfast bar, and CeasarStone countertops and common laundry in the building. Easy parking on the street.
The Studio has a private deck for customers for relaxation and a private library full of French books to explore(educational, culture, politic, etc). I am a French teacher in San Francisco.
The 24th street is half a block away and has tone of shops, shops and couple of bars included sport bars. There is a Walgreen store on 24th and Castro, four blocs down. Bank of America and WellsFargo are located on 24th street, between Castro and Noe. There is a WholeFood store between Noe and Sanchez.
  • Arcene's place was great! Perfect size for two people and a very central location that made taking short lyft rides very easy. Great communication and everything was clean and helpful. Thanks again!

  • A wonderful time in Noe Valley, SF! We couldn't have asked for a better place to call home for 5 days. It's a beautifully renovated studio apartment- 20 mins (walk) from Twins Peak, 10 mins from the delicious Noe Valley Bakery, and a blink away from a scenic view of the city. Transportation to downtown or to other parts of the city was easy (roughly 30-60 mins depending where you're headed). The apartment was clean and ready by the time we arrived. Key swap was easy. We were left little sticky notes to help us navigate the apartment. And Arcene was always a text away!

    Jenny2016-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Arcene’s place was exactly as described and pictured. The perfect studio for a stay in San Francisco. Check in and out was a breeze and the location was central to everything we wanted to do while there. I would definitely stay here again!

    Liza2018-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Arcene’s place is perfect for a stay in SF! While it is definitely a studio in size and set up, it was very updated, had all the amenities promised, and perfect for my husband and me. The neighborhood was also great, very residential and relaxed.

    Hilary2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Arcene's place is great! Beautiful and calm neighborhood, but close to bars and restaurants in Mission and Castro. Communication with Arcene was perfect. We loved our stay!

    Andreas2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Arcene was a gracious host who was very accessible and easy to communicate with. He left notes around the apartment to make us feel even more welcome.

    Robyn2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Arcene's place was great. Clean and very nicely updated. The kitchen was awesome if you are looking to cook some of your own food. The place is located on a very steep hill. We adjusted to driving up it after a day.

    Christina2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience at this studio. It was a great, quiet location in the city. An easy walk to great coffee and great breakfast. But far enough away to keep things peaceful and to have easy (although incredibly steep) parking communication was easy and thorough. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Enjoy your own private cottage in a back yard garden in Glen Park. Cozy studio cottage with an integrated bathroom. Complete with mini fridge, microwave, k-cup coffee maker, and premium cable. Relax inside the cottage or sit outside at the patio table and admire the garden. Private entrance to the cottage. 5 blocks from the Glen Park BART Station. Street parking is easy in the neighborhood, you can park all day long. Street cleaning is every other week and on different sides of the street,
The cottage is a single room with a private enclosed water closet for privacy. Internet access for your computer needs, and a TV with Xfinity cable with many of the premium channels if you want a relaxing evening. The shower is integrated into the room.
Glen Park/Sunnyside is a quiet residential neighborhood in San Francisco. Glen Park has a cute village feel and has some great restaurants and shops. Since it is just a few BART stops (or a 5-10 minute drive) from downtown and the more crowded parts of San Francisco, it provides a tranquil refuge for your stay.
  • An absolute gem. Such a cute space, in a safe quiet neighbourhood. Super clean and comfortable, with so many nice little touches that really show how much the hosts care about their guests' experience. Very comfortable bed, excellent shower, coffee machine (with pods), kettle, microwave, fridge (with lots of bottles of water) and a big bowl full of sweet and savoury snacks and some instant ramen pots. Use of the patio with table and chairs would be great to enjoy some summer sunshine. Cable TV made it tempting to lay in bed watching tv, but with the BART only a 10 minute walk away it was an excellent base to explore San Francisco. A shining example of how Airbnb can be done, hats off to Eddie and Chip, they should be proud of the space they have created.

    Ryan2018-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best airbnb experience I have had to date. Eddie is on top of communication pre-arrival with great details, and fast communication. I really appreciated the flexibility they showed us in checking in, as we had a wedding to get to and needed to in and ready before the official check-in time. Chip was there to welcome us to the cottage and make sure we had everything we needed. The space was super safe, clean, comfortable, and quiet. We really appreciated the snacks and availability of coffee that were left for us. My only regret is that we only stayed one night. Thank you for the accommodations!

    Maureen2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Eddie’s place is a great retreat for a couple’s stay for a weekend or a week. They were very clean and it was in a great location, a ten minute walk from the train. I loved their garden and how much thought they put into making this cottage feel like “home.” I would highly recommend this place.

    Sage2018-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a quaint little cottage, it's adorable! We just needed a place to get cleaned up and pass out for the night and it was perfect. Eddie is awesome :)

    Amy2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place and location! Adorable garden! Eddie and Chip are great hosts :-)

    Olivia2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Eddie's place was outstanding! my mother and father-in-law stayed and had nothing but positive feedback. the cottage was clean with very thoughtful touches (big bottles of shampoo, snacks, EVERYTHING!) Great communication the whole way through and would highly recommend this spot. I would visit again. Thank you Eddie!!!

    Toby2018-12-23T00:00:00Z

  • It depense what you are looking for. We needed a quiet, nice place, next to a green place (GG park is amazing!), without any interruption. We had it for sure. Easy access to the apt. If you want a downtown location, skip this place, the bus ride take 35 mins to the city. But you can change a cigarette for pot in the bus stop with a junkie. :-)

    Georgina2013-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's Garden Suite was a great find for the price. The place was cozy and private. The best part was that it was within walking distance to Golden Gate Park and a good selection of restaurants. Linda was very communicative and helpful throughout the process. Before checking out, she asked us to help out with changing out the sheets and taking out the trash but it wasn't a hassle at all.

    Rachel2013-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Garden Suite is so comfortable and welcoming! I would stay here again! The suite is minimalist and very clean. The room still smells like it was recently renovated and it is actually pretty spacious. It would definitely accommodate 3-4 people comfortably. Golden Gate park is very close and some of the main Muni (Bus) lines are within a block. I would definitely return sometime in the future!

    Desiree2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I was very happy with the space and how clean everything was. Su met me at the apartment and made sure I had everything I needed, which I did. The bathroom had all high quality appliances, and the bed was super super comfortable. The park near the apartment is beautiful, and I highly recommend checking that out. Parking can be a bit difficult, but public transit in the area will get you anywhere you need to be. Good stay.

    Paul2015-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very accurate and amazing value. Will be booking with Su again.

    Andrew2018-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying in Garden Suite. It's located in quiet neighborhood, the place was clean, bed-big. We arrived lately - therefore it wasn't easy to find parking space. But anyway - If I will be in SF again I would like to stay in this place once more.

    Mārcis2013-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice unit in a quite neighborhood. Nice private unit with a living room. Sue was very responsive and check in was easy and seamless.

    Alex2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I really enjoy living in Garden Suite for those two days. The suite is private and locates separately with where house owner lives so that you will have absolutely private and personal living and working place. That is what I most enjoy living in Su's Garden Suite. The room is pretty clean and has modern style.

Big room in a very centric location, public transportation (BART + Muni) is 5 min walk from the house, buses to everywhere are a couple of blocks away. Place is peaceful and quiet, its a perfect combination of living in a city and a serene getaway. Please be aware that the house has some stairs (as most of SF`s houses do) to get to the front door.THIS AD IS FOR ONE PRIVATE BEDROOM AND SHARED BATHROOM, NOT THE ENTIRE APARTMENT. THANKS FOR READING! :-)
The room has a full size bed, hairdryer, hangers, iron, heater, plenty of blankets and pillows for your comfort. For the 3rd person, there is a foldable bed (cot) with which all amenities are provided. The 3rd person bed will be in the same room than the 2 other people. If there is an inconvenience with this, please let us know so we can arrange the sofa-bed in the living-room House has Wifi, Central Heating, Fireplace, Washer. Fully equipped kitchen. There is plenty of free street parking available, be aware that in most of the city street parking is only for 2 hrs from 10am-6pm also be aware of street cleaning . We (Ili & Javier) live in the house. Your bedroom is private, but we will be sharing the common areas (kitchen, livingroom and bathroom).
The home is located in a very quiet neighborhood. There is plenty of FREE street parking available ( just be aware of street c landing and other street signs) . If the driveway is available you are welcome to use it but you MUST leave your car keys in the kitchen so we can move in and out. Anywhere you park, please make sure you don't block a neighbor´s driveway.
  • Ili and Javier were amazing! This was my first AirBnB experience, and they definitely spoiled me for future rentals. They were so friendly and accommodating. I was visiting for work and I wasn't home very much, but any time I came home they asked how my day was and were very helpful with tips as to where to get dinner, the best way to get back to the airport, etc. It was a shared bathroom, but we never had any issues getting ready in the morning. If you can book them, you will win.

    Caitlin2015-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived super late due to late flight connections because we were coming from Europe and our hosts were so nice and prepared everything so we felt like we could just come in and feel like at home. We've had a home made bread and butter made by the hosts which impressed us big time! They were helpful with directions and attractions near by. We would definitely recommend staying with those lovely hosts !

Stay at our Artsy home in SF's Portola District. One bedroom available in our home with kids and two cats. WE LIVE IN THE HOME. We do get up early and there is some AM noise. 2 min walk to bus & 15 min ride to subway. 15 drive downtown or 45 min on bus/train. Easy freeway access! 15 minute drive to SFO airport! Head out on a hike in Maclaren Park.... Come enjoy a quiet get away from the hubbub of the City... We are NOT close to tourist area but it's a sweet spot. Lots of street parking!
Guests seem to love the bed! The bedroom is decorated and has simple furniture. See photos.
Visit Maclaren Park to hike! Breakfast at Tiffany's is super yummy! Four Barrel Coffee is also great! There is a grocery store called Grocery Outlet about 10 blocks away. And we have a new brew pub in the hood, Ferment Drink Repeat! 10 min drive to Bernal Heights where there are some more restaurants, bars, and cute shops.
  • Michelle was a friendly, helpful host! She gave us a Lyft discount card and handy tips for seeing the sights. The bed is quite comfortable--always a plus when traveling. Also, we liked the cozy, artsy decor.

    Heather2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Super friendly home and warm environment. The cats were extremely welcoming, only problem is when they meowed at the door at 7:00 am when we were trying to sleep.

    Brittany2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's place was perfect for our stay! She was very accommodating. The house is on a fairly steep hill, so be prepared if you're driving and parking on the street.

  • Our stay at Michelle's place was really comfortable. Her family was great and very helpful, so was Michelle. You feel instantly at home. Everything was as described and the neighbourhood was really quiet and nice. After you figured out the public transportation system the distances were no problem but you have to schedule some time for getting somewhere. But the drives don't seem that long because you can always see some new stuff. Also it was no problem to leave our luggage a little longer at her place because our flight was in the evening. We would recommend Michelle's place to everyone. Thanks to Michelle for building such a nice home for travellers.

  • Great safe clean friendly place, every where is a seven dollar Uber ride away...even if you have a car take uber because city parking is expensive. Try the el Salvadoran restaurant on the high street, ten min walk. And yes, Michelle is lovely x

His house was very easy to get to and and had great freeway access. Our accommodations were very clean and the bath had a wonderful shower!

  • Michael's house was exactly as described. It's a stylish house with all amenities you could need. The walk to the shops/ cafes in Bernal Heights is hard work but where isn't in San Francisco. We ended up having the place to ourselves as Michael had a business trip. We managed to get around using the muni, Michael sent me the details for transport prior to arriving. All in all, a comfy Airbnb and a friendly informative host.

    Laura2018-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay with everything you need. Michael and Vernon were the perfect hosts. Very friendly and helpful. Very nice house. Comfy bed, nice shower and great breakfast. Definitely top recommendation.

  • This is a delightful B and B with wonderful hosts. Everything was simple and just as described. The neighborhood is cute and has the real advantage that you can park for free and just get into SF by cab or public transport. Coffee and breakfast options were perfect and very welcome. Everything was super clean and very comfy. The private bathroom has very nice towels and a wonderful shower. Delightful!

    Jane2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Michael provided excellent hospitality throughout my stay. The room and bed were clean and well kept when I arrived, and the bed was very comfortable and firm. I had some trouble with security features on my phone the first morning that could have prevented me from meeting up with a friend, but Michael and his housemate, Vernon, were very helpful, letting me use their personal computers to resolve my issues. They also were very helpful in suggesting places to explore nearby first.

Our downstairs studio is like a hotel room with its own entrance, a kitchenette, bathroom and a comfy bed. Our home is close to public transportation and lots of shops, restaurants and parks. It is near the lively Mission district and quaint Cortland Ave. There is easy access to 80, 101 and 280 if you're driving south or east. Its best for 1 or 2 people, but might be able to accommodate a couple with 1 child. A small dog would be okay, but there is no outdoor area.
The studio is about the size of a small hotel room, with a queen size bed, smart TV you can watch your own streaming service on, breakfast table and chair, a side chair. There is a closet for your use. The kitchenette includes an under-counter refrigerator, sink, and microwave, as well as an electric kettle and a French press coffee maker. We provide coffee and tea for you to make yourself. There are glasses, mugs, plates and bowls. There is silverware, a can opener, a bottle opener. We provide granola, oatmeal and some light snacks or breakfast items. The shower and toilet are each behind a wall for privacy, and there is a heavy curtain separating the bathroom from the studio. There is a door for the toilet. However, the bathroom is not a completely separate room, so the studio is best for people who are comfortable with one another. Our studio is cozy and quiet, and with the curtain pulled to cover the glass entry door, it is quite private. There is no outdoor space. There is a smart TV and you can sign into your own streaming TV service.
Our home is in Bernal Heights. We are on the North-West corner, and our home has a view of both Twin Peaks and Downtown, although there is not a view from the studio. Bernal Heights is hilly, with great views, some steep streets, stairways and tiny parks tucked into side streets. From the park at the top of our hill, there is a 360-degree view of the City, including the bay, the Bay Bridge, the Golden Gate bridge, Twin Peaks, Downtown, Mt Diablo and south to the airport. During baseball season and at the 4th of July, fireworks are often visible from our hill. There is a very sweet commercial street with restaurants, shops and a library. Several parks are nearby for strolling, playing, picnicking and dogs. Our neighborhood is south of the Mission neighborhood, but still within walking distance of the lively nightlife there. It is quieter and cleaner than some of the Mission streets, but not so far from the center that anything is difficult to get to. Bernal Heights was voted America's Hottest Neighborhood in 2014 on the real estate site Redfin: (URL HIDDEN)

    Timothy2019-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I enjoyed our 7 night stay here. Angela brought us fresh towels after a few days with freshly baked scones (I'm talking... right out of the oven fresh!) She was always quick to respond to questions.

    Danielle2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's place was perfect! The studio is more spacious than the photos do it justice. Everything was prepared and the space was extremely clean. We will be staying again!

    Jonny2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Angela's place is just as advertised. It's a small studio, but has a modern feel to it. The bathroom/shower area are not too separate from the rest of the room so if you're traveling with someone you're not comfortable with this could be an issue. However, it was really cozy and perfect for me and my boyfriend. The one minor issue I felt was that you can hear every footstep and movement from upstairs and I am a lighter sleeper so this was slightly bothersome early in the morning. However, my boyfriend barely noticed it so definitely depends on how well you sleep. The studio was easily accessible, and we were able to get a great parking spot near the place pretty easily!

This home has a nice sized private bedroom with a queen sized futon mattress for 1 guest and shared use of the breakfast nook located in the kitchen area which can be used for office or eating or relaxing. The back of the home where the bedroom is located is very private and quiet. The kitchen is shared and lightly used. The bathroom is shared and has a full bath and shower for your use. Laundry facility is 4 blocks away. This home is centrally located in the Sunset District in between the hustling and bustling restaurants and bars of inner sunsets 9th Ave. to the east and the Ocean with its beautiful beaches and sightseeing to the west. It is a 4 block walk to Golden Gate Park and a 3 block walk to the N Judah metro which will take you to downtown S.F. in 30m, or to the ocean in 10m. There are restaurants, bars and markets within blocks of walking distance and the 9th Ave corridor is only a 10m metro ride or a nice brisk walk along the Irving Street commercial corridor. Amenities include WiFi, clean towels, soap, tea, coffee. And most of all a friendly host that will be happy to assist in directions and tips on getting around.
Close to the Ocean and blocks from Golden Gate Park. Quiet neighborhood. Easy transportation.
  • Allen was the bomb! Super gracious host, always helpful and attentive. He wasn't really around very much, so I pretty much had the place to myself. When he was home, we definitely clicked and had lots of great conversations. He even took me to lunch one day up the street by the beach... (what a guy!)He also helped me learn about the area and where to eat and play etc. Golden Gate Park is literally right up the street! If you stay here don't miss opportunities for morning strolls/ runs / meditating/ reading/ whatever you like to do at the park. It's a predominately Chinese neighborhood which made for some amazing restaurants at super good prices and a really cool and different cultural experience I wasn't quite expecting. Absolutely loved my stay! Highly recommend staying.

  • I had a great time on Allen's house. The room is incredibly comfortable and well located. Everything was pretty clean and organized. I didn't have any issue during my stay so I really recommend it.

    Enrique2015-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The host was great. He welcome us into his house and made us feel like it was our own. We couldnt talk a lot because he had to travel, but he gave us answers for all of our questions. Then he left us the place just for us. While he was traveling we contacted him and he responded right away. Also his roommate was really silent and we never cross ways with him. A package was delivered to him for us, and he left it in the kitchen. We had a great time at Allen place, also because although it seems far away, with a map and a muni pass you get anywhere really fast. Thank you allen for everything. Hope we meet again in Argentina, and if we ever go back to SF we will stay at your place again!

  • I had a great time staying with Allen! The house is in a nice quiet area of SF and only a few blocks from Golden Gate Park! The room is spacious and private. Allen is really cool and we had some good chats and he gave me lots of tips for things to do in the city. Thanks Allen for a great stay - look forward to catching up again!

  • Allen is a very nice guy. He provided a very lovely house for my friend and me. San Francisco impressed me very much. I love this wonderful place.

    Rachel2015-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, great location, great experience. Shame we didn't get to see more of him but overall he was very accommodating. Would highly reccommend Allen's space.

    Gary2015-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Allen was a fantastic host - the house was very clean and he was extremely flexible in terms of check-in timing. For most of our stay, we felt like we had our own private section of the house, which was wonderful when we wanted to spend some quiet time together. He was also there to guide us on what to do around San Francisco. Would definitely recommend this place!!

    Laksh2014-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Allen is very friendly, respectful. He gave me my space when I was there. I would recommend to stay in this place. The place is really nice, the neighborhood is nice. No issues.

  • The room was clean and the location very central. We walked to most parts of the city.

    Frederic2015-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Good location but not quiet enough. Comfortable bed.

    Zheng2015-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rooms are a little Spartan, but clean and comfortable. Great Wi-Fi and great location!

    Jon2015-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Really comfortable, near by union square.

    Angel2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tony answered questions quickly, and the apartment was clean and had everything I needed. I would gladly stay here again.

    Samantha2016-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting San Fransisco. It was our first visit to the Bay Area and finding a place to stay was what we found most difficult. Extremely happy with the decision we made to stay in Tony's place. Compared to hotels similarly priced, this was a much better option. The bedding and bathroom were clean, wifi was efficient, and the room was spacious (for San Francisco standards). We had no issues but if we did Tony left his direct contact information for us. The only minor drawback was the area it was in. The tenderloin district is one of the rougher areas but we never felt threatened in any way. Keep to yourself and no one will bother you. The only advice I would give to anyone staying here would be to take an uber with your luggage from the BART station as there is an area heavily populated with homeless people in between Tony's place and the union square BART station. Again we never felt threatened walking but some may feel uncomfortable. Other than that the place is well situated in a central area; we walked mostly everywhere. 40 minute walk to fishermans wharf, 5-10 minutes from union square! If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in San Francisco stay here!

    Ben2016-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, close to Union Square (shops, restaurants...). Tony was very helpful and let us check in at 12:30 pm instead of 14. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed by the accomodation : not very cosy, more similar to a young hostel (with private rooms and private toilets). Probably a good compromise for the area, but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend!

  • This place was a great find. Cheryl clearly works hard to keep it clean and inviting. She's a fantastic host and is very knowledgable about the area. Highly recommend.

  • Cheryl was Great! She is a wonderfull host and is very kind! The Room is very clean, large and nice! You can take the muni to go Downtown !

    Tessa2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl was a great host! She was eager to provide recommendations and quick to respond to any questions we had. Also, having parking was a great addition since parking appeared a little hard to come by in the area!

    Stephanie2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay. Whilst being out of town a bit, its really easy to access down town (and so cheap). Cheryl give clear directions on how to get in, use of the bus/train systems and conveniences nearby. We were so thankful we stayed out of town a bit as its way too busy and expensive in town. Wonderful host who thinks of everything.

    RebeccaandRichard2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl's place is great! It's in a good location and is very private. It was really nice to have a place to park our car!! Cheryl made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again next time we're in SF!

    Adam2018-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very private room. It is very helpful to have the parking spot with a rental car and a place that’s great if you’re traveling with an infant

    Ethan2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl's home was a great place to stay in SF. We felt beyond comfortable and taken care of considering Cheryl had water, snacks and other basic necessities! The parking is slim to none on the streets but luckily Cheryl offers her driveway for guests to park in. Overall an ideal place to stay when spending a night or two in the area. Thanks again Cheryl!

    Tiffany2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here because it was close to everything and yet just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown SF. We appreciated having a parking spot for our car -- that's HUGE in a city where parking is insanely difficult to obtain! We loved the small touches like the Keurig with multiple types of coffee pods and who doesn't want to dig into the candy jar? The bottled water and snacks were a great touch and we really appreciated them. Overall... a great place to stay and Cheryl ensured our stay was great by checking in to make sure we were having fun while in SF during the day.

The tourists you might see walking around will be a lot of Bay Area natives who love enjoying Golden Gate Park, and spilling into the neighborhood afterward for its delicious foodie treats.
  • This place was great! Perfect location and lots to see and do in the area. They were very accommodating and let us drop our bags off early so that we could go explore the area.

  • Nice and quiant place in a bustling city. Crepes are awesome in the area for breakfast and there were plenty of options nearby. I had fun staying at Madge's place while I was attending a conference. The writing table was very useful and I loved the privacy, quiant and peacefulness of the apartment even though the train runs right infront of the house. It was a lovey and unique experience.

    Nishant2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed with Madge March 2018. She and her husband were very friendly and quick to respond if we had any questions. The room was large and clean, perfect for two people. The bed was very comfortable! It was a very nice stay, when I come back to San Francisco I will stay with Madge again.

    Jerod2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a great find for many reasons! I only interacted with Mary a few times, but she was very friendly and accommodating. The place itself is very unique! It is true what everyone says, you go up a narrow set of spiral stairs, which makes brining luggage up interesting. With that said, my boyfriend and I loved this feature. Made it like a little adventure. The room is very tidy and a good amount of space. Has a nice set of windows with a view of the street. The pull out couch was probably the most comfortable one I have ever slept. I slept like a baby regardless of busy street noises, which is totally tolerable. The neighborhood is great. Filled with lots of eateries and bars. My boyfriend and I enjoyed hanging out in this area when we weren't in the madness of downtown. You are extremely close to the Golden Gate Park, total bonus and everything closer to downtown is only about a 20 minute drive if not less. Also parking isn't bad either. There was parking lots less than a block away and free Peking a few blocks down. Thanks Mary for letting us stay! We'll be back.

    Ariana2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Good location near the park and bus lines, residential area, get the feel for what it would be like to live here, less tourist-y.

    Emily2017-02-17T00:00:00Z

  • Great space with loads of info on San Fran available. The facilities were all very accessible and the hosts were great. Madeleine was fantastic from the get go. She was very inviting and had lots of info as to what things we may like to do whilst there. Very laid back and lovely all round! Really enjoyed it. Thanks for having us!

Relax in a beautiful, bright room in chic and calm condo in the vibrant Mission District, and explore local restaurant scene. Room has its own TV with Netflix and Hulu, and has an adjacent private bathroom just for guests. While the neighborhood is busy, the guest bedroom is not street facing and is quiet. Walk to Dolores Park, Castro, and Hayes Valley. Easy Uber or Bart ride from the airport! Please read useful info in the House Rules section below (scroll all the way down), including check-in information and parking details. A very sweet and quiet boston terrier (@petitepokey) lives here.
The apartment is a very cute and modern fully furnished apartment. The apartment is quite large, and will not feel cramped, unlike many San Francisco apartments. The entire apartment was fully gutted and remodeled recently. Private bathroom (not an en-suite but located right next to your bedroom) is very clean, and is all yours :) I have a separate bathroom and do not share the bathroom. A few additional things: - Make yourself at home - I'm happy to host you :) - Homelessness is rampant in SF. This is not unique to only my neighborhood. I live in a vibrant, popular and busy neighborhood, so there are more homeless people (they like to be where the crowds are), and hence more street trash. If you are uncomfortable with homelessness, this neighborhood won't be right for you. It is a very expensive and trendy neighborhood, but I don't control the homeless people, and would prefer not to have guests that ding me in the reviews because of the homeless situation all over SF. - Please don't wipe makeup on towels (I have clean towels and the make-up stains are really hard to remove) - Check in is 4:30pm. Earlier check-in requests cannot be accommodated since I am usually booked every night and the cleaning lady needs the keys to clean before your arrival, however, early bag drop is totally ok if you put the keys back in the lockbox for the cleaning lady asap. - There is a lockbox where I will leave keys and send instructions on accessing. Instructions are also included in Airbnb - please refer to the self check in details. - If you book this place, you acknowledge that you are savvy enough to follow detailed instructions to open lockbox for keys and retrieve keys. If you don't know what a lockbox is, this might be tough. - Please let me know the day before your check-in a 30-60 minute window of your expected arrival time (just so I'm not walking out of the shower in a towel when you're walking in the door) My place is within walking distance to great restaurants, bars, and diverse nightlife . I have tried to provide a varied list of the best our neighborhood has to offer in the welcome booklet when you arrive. - If you bring a pet from prior approval from me - they must never be left alone unless they are crated inside and with prior approval from me. - There are no exceptions to this unless your pet is crated, and crate trained - you go out, your pet goes with you. I look forward to making your trip to San Francisco a memorable one!
Condo is steps away from some of the most popular restaurants, shops, a supermarket, & public transportation (including BART). That said, SF is a small city best explored on foot! *Please* *read* parking/check-in info in the House Rules. Dog at home.
  • SPARKLING CLEAN AND CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!

  • This private bedroom and bath in Koncha’s condo is located in the heart of the Mission District with easy access to public transit. Koncha is warm, welcoming, easy, responsive and organized. Guest room has folder with good info on what to do while in her home and when out and about. It was my first time to do a shared space with the owner. I would do it again with Koncha!

    Mary2018-01-24T00:00:00Z

  • Koncha's place is stellar. The bed was super comfy, the space was really well decorated, and she made me feel right at home. There's a ton to do around the neighborhood, and it's easy to walk/Lyft anywhere you need to go. I'd recommend this place 100%.

I’m more of a cat person usually but konchas dog pokey is an absolute delight so that was a nice touch to come back to after a busy day site seeing! The location is fantastic and there are so many great restaurants and bars nearby which koncha has also really helpfully highlighted in her guest handbook. Any questions we had before our stay koncha responded to really quickly and also gave us some good tips when we arrived. Thanks koncha and pokey for a lovely stay :)

The Mission is a diverse, vibrant neighborhood with some of the best restaurants in the city! Murals, nightlife, and unique shops and galleries abound. It's very central with easy access to/from the airports and other parts of the city.
  • Great room and impressive interior design. They hosts were very hospitable, prompt, and responsive.

  • The space is comfortable, clean, and in a great location. They were very thorough and instructions were detailed and helpful. Got to meet Mike when we checked in. Super nice guy!

  • Our stay with Michael and Yestica was fantastic! They were so welcoming and accommodating. We felt very welcome in their home and they provided lots of helpful resources and advice for things to see and do. Fantastic !

  • This was a very last-minute booking and we only got to stay one night, but we loved Michael & Yesica's apartment. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet them, but they responded immediately to our request and had a key available for our morning arrival. Super convenient to the BART, spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed and reliable wi-fi. We appreciated the restaurant recommendations (and chocolate - thanks guys) and definitely hope we can come back some day soon.

  • Yesica was there to great us and help us with parking. The location was awesome and well within walking distance to Mission and Valencia Streets. The location and house far exceeded our expectations. There a number of unique stores and restaurants in the area and Yesica provided several recommendations. In fact, there is a great Peruvian restaurant Limon nearby which very well be one of the best meals we've had. The area is very unique to San Francisco, which we loved.

    Andrew2014-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a nice stay! Having a parking spot in the garage was super convenient. Location is great too - Mission has it all. We met Michael the morning we were leaving but had great conversation and would definitely recommend this place! Thanks.

    Helena2016-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • I spent one night at Michael and Yesica's. They were great about accommodating a last minute booking. The check-in was effortless and the place was clean and comfortable. Michael and Yesica were also very friendly hosts. Altogether - thumbs up!

  • Such a cute place! The room was definitely small, but enough space if you are alone. It's located in a nice area and easy to find. I felt safe here and I liked that I could lock my door. Travelling alone as a girl is easier this way :)

  • Room no 5 - Very small and tiny room with just a bed (no chair, desk or place to hang clothes). The rooms are in an old building with wooden floors. You can hear other guests when then speak in the neighboring room. I found the place relatively clean, including the common toilet cum bathroom. The location too is perfect with cafes, restaurants, nightlife and easy transportation. It was easy to communicate with Josh.

  • Loved it. Perfect location

  • This is my second time staying at Josh's and I again had a very nice stay. Josh is a great host; he provides simple check in and out and he helped me with my luggage, which I always appreciate. I was in the smallest, basic room this time, which was comfortable and economical - but I've stayed in a couple of his other rooms in the past and they are absolutely beautiful!! Very comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. I definitely recommend!! :)

  • Very close to major attraction either with Uber or public transport.

  • Chris was an amazing host! Even before we arrived, she gave us several resources on making our San Fran stay a memorable one. The studio was perfect for two people - cozy, spacious and Chris provided everything you needed to make you feel at ease. The studio was right next to Golden Gate Park which is perfect for a beautiful stroll in the morning. Overall, I would recommend this studio to anyone visiting San Fran and would definitely come back!

Near the studio you can find a supermarket and there are also several muni-busstation. We would come back with pleasure.

  • Chris's place was absolutely perfect for our 3 night stay in SF. Super clean when we arrived & Chris showed us around the place & some insight into the local area. The small kitchen with microwave & coffee maker was great, those morning coffee's were badly needed!! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thanks so much!

    David2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Chris is a gracious hostess who cares about the comfort of her guests. The place is charming, clean, and equipped with many thoughtful amenities, like guidebooks, breakfast foods, soaps, etc. The garden outback is lovely.

  • Chris and her husband were lovely hosts to me and my boyfriend. She was there to greet us when we arrived and always replied nearly instantly for when we had a question or request. The studio was very clean and well-equiped, very much like the description here on Airbnb. I would highly recommend her place for any potential guests :)

Our cozy bedroom sits in an old shared Victorian built in 1900. It has the original San Franciscan flavor. With a queen-sized bed and a sofa, it comfortably accommodates one person or a couple and is centrally located in the Richmond District of San Francisco. It's within walking distance to the Golden Gate Park, Lake Park, Presidio, and bus stops that will connect you to major attractions the city has to offer.
It's strategically and conveniently located in the Richmond District of San Francisco. Only 6 blocks from the Golden Gate Park, two blocks from Presidio Park and Mountain Lake, and 5- minute bus ride (Muni #28) to the Golden Gate Bridge. The room is on the second floor and there are about 15 steps to climb. The house has a total of 5 bedrooms: two on the second floor for Airbnb and three on the third floor. Two of us live on the third floor.
It is pretty quiet although it's only a few hundred feet from the busy Clement Street that is lined with stores, restaurants, banks, and businesses to meet your daily needs. The famed Green Apple bookstore is only 4 blocks away on Clement.
  • Me and my boyfriend stayed for three nights at Budis place and it was simply perfect: The room is spacious and very well equipped, Budi even provided lots of snacks and water as well as towels. The house is perfectly located to explore lots of different parts of San Francisco. Budi is super friendly and even provided us with lots of tips for day-tours in and around San Fran. We would stay at his place again for sure!

    Carlotta2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Budi's room was perfect for the 2 of us nice and cosy although at night it was very bright when the outside light is on. But other than that perfect, it's close to public transport, shops and other things to do.

    Tasha2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the stay there. Although we never crossed paths, Budi was very communicative, flexible and kind. Very close to the bus stop that heads towards Union. Would highly recommend.

  • Simple space. Quiet street. Beautiful piano. Great host. I'd be happy to stay there again.

    David2018-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy check-in, big room, older home with character. Friendly people.

    Richard2017-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great. I've never tried so many restaurants in two weeks. Budi is a great guy, he is always going out of his way to make sure you have a good stay.

    Brok2015-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Budi is a great and kind host. We didn't see him too much because we were trying to see as much of the city as we could, but he checked in with us and made sure we were well and I appreciated that. The bed was amazingly comfortable and we were very close to the Bridge and Golden Gate Park. The rest of the city was further away but the public transport was nearby and easy to figure out. My only issue was the low water pressure in the shower. Otherwise it was an amazing stay with a great host!

    Rose2017-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Budi and his flatmate Pat were really nice and acommodating! The room was pretty spacious and it was really nice with the couch. The bed is super comfortable as well. Neighborhood is really safe and there is a great shopping street right around the corner. When we were visiting, the water pressure in the bathroom was super low though which made showering kind of a hassle.

The rhythm of the Beat poets flow in the streets outside their regular hangouts, like Vesuvio, and City Lights Bookstore, just a couple of blocks away. And we are only a 20 minute walk from the famous Fisherman’s Wharf.
  • This was my first time staying in a hostel and def. not my last. Every staff member was extremely attentive and helpful. I asked to move beds and instantly the next morning They let me switch beds with no hesitation and no problem. This hostel is extremely clean. I enjoyed the lounge area with chairs and also the computer area w free internet access. The eating and recreation area is huge and very enjoyable. The kitchen is very user friendly and clean. Bathrooms were always spotless with 3 rolls of toilet paper always in stock. I can't wait to stay here again due to my wonderful experience. Also, the staff writes daily on a board in the hallway listing social events that the hostel offers. The hostel has a huge area w free brochures of info and local activities. I give this 5 out of 5 stars, hands down

    Jeana2015-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had to change my plans last minute, so I didn't make it out to the green tortoise. But they were very prompt to respond.

    Queenie2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, this listing didn't leave a good impression as they accepted our booking but had no idea we were coming and thus didn't have a room ready. This resulted in 2 grown men sharing one bed or as the host put it "getting cosy". The host gave a lovely introduction and at another time with a different experience i'm sure I would enjoy it there. However, the host could've been a bit more apologetic given their mistake though they had no drama taking the money for the reservation.

    Dale2016-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly hostel in downtown San Francisco. Flexible check in time, clean sheets, clean bathrooms. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in SF for the weekend!
