My house is on a quiet tree lined street only 1 block from the subway. 3 subway lines stop there. Your room comfortably sleeps 3. I'll supply you with fresh towels and sheets. Your bathroom is large and you can take a relaxing bath as well as a shower. You can relax in the backyard and have a nice bbq. Steps away from Sunset Park and trendy Industry City (IC). IC is features rooftop films, different types of cuisines for foodies, rock shows, kids entertainment, and much more.
Your bedroom is 12X12 or 144 sq. feet. It has 2 windows with shutters that look over my backyard. You have a full and twin bed. You get plenty of daylight and can see the sunset from your room. You have plenty of drawer space. You have a closet to hang things up and stow your bags in.I refinished the hardwood floors 2 years ago.
My neighborhood is pretty quiet.I'm 1 Ave away from Industry City. IC is a former shipping and warehouse complex on the Upper New York Bay waterfront. Relax in Sunset Park where you can enjoy breathtaking, unobstructed views of the Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan. There's a Bowling Alley at the top of my block where you can have fun bowling and drinking an adult beverage or two. 2 blocks from Green-Wood Cemetery (a National Historic Landmark), We have pizza, dinners, Chinese and Spanish, Turkish and Japanese restaurants all within a few blocks. If you get hungry late at night, there's always some place open to eat. And there's always the coffee and bagel shops for the morning. Shopping in Downtown Brooklyn is only 1 stop away at Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center.
  • We had a great time in NYC at Skips home. Skip helped us in any issues and gave us many information and maps of the city. The room and the bathroom were always clean. The cats were really cute. :-)

  • This AirBnB host in Brooklyn was a great host. We rented his room for two nights after we had problems with another AirBnB host. He provided us with everything we needed from information about the city to plans and tips about how to get somewhere in New York. The house was clean and we enjoyed staying with Skip very much. He has two adorable cats too that want to be pet all the time. If you want to stay in Brooklyn, stay with Skip. It's very close to lower Manhatten.

    Sebastian2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • it is a little bit small, but it is NY city

    Johan Halim2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Skip's place was very comfortable and so close to the subway station. His two cats were very friendly, and both Skip and Lisa (who helped coordinate logistics and welcome us) were communicative and kind. Would stay here again!

    Justine2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Skip is really nice and always there to help you with your doubts and to give you advices about the city. We could use the kitchen whenever we needed and we had our privacy.

    Iarima2017-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Skip was a truly gracious host, not only opening the doors to his home but also making an effort to ensure our stay in NYC and Brooklyn was enjoyable and interesting. It was a genuine pleasure staying with him - best regards to you, Skip, and to Caesar and Cleopatra!

    Hadas2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Skip was an incredible host and his home is a great place to stay in Brooklyn. He was very flexible and accommodating with storing my baggage, and the location is literally 50m from the express D train so access to the city was easy. Would definitely stay here again!

  • It is close to the subway. It just needs 30 minutes to Manhattan. The room is clean and the accessory is perfect. It is a good chance to experience the traditional house in New York.

Contemporary, spacious, bright and airy one-bedroom apartment located in the heart of Sunset Park, just 25 minutes from Manhattan. Unit offers newly renovate bathroom and kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Delicious ethnic food nearby. Walking distance from both a waterfront park and a hillside park with with spectacular views to the city skyline.
The apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a 2 Family house. The apartment includes a full/double size bed. The designated bedroom has been converted into a walking closet and the kitchen/bedroom area are set in a open plan setup, with a fully stocked kitchen.
Sunset Park is a multicultural neighborhood known for a diverse Latino Community and "Brooklyn Chinatown". We recommend trying "Tacos El Bronco", our favorite Taco spot. Other worthy Mexican restaurants include Tacos Matamoros and Maria's Bistro (try their brunch).
  • Pretty stylish and clean space. Exceeded our expectations and would definitely book again.

  • Loren’s place is great! It is exactly as it appears in the photos. Extremely clean and organized. Has extra amenities such as a treadmill, lots of games, Netflix, and full kitchen use. It was very welcoming, safe and such an enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place in the area and would definitely stay here again!

Apartment is decorated to be cozy and comfortable. Very quiet and very relaxed. Feel free to cook in the kitchen, relax and watch Netflix in the bedroom. I have plenty of yoga mats for a meditative stretch. Room has a big window. 100 sq ft. Full bed, a dresser, and a closet. 10 min walk from the D,N,R 36 Street stop in Sunset Park. A lot of amazing Mexican food in the area. Grocery stores, bodegas, taco trucks, laundromat one block away. 10 blocks away from a gay bar!!!! It's Brooklyn!!!
Cute little artists' apartment. This is a three bedroom apartment. Two roommates also in the other two rooms. Aaron is 31, works as a personal assistant and is in school to become a doctor, and is never home because he also travels all the time. Very easy going. Beer connoisseur. Trenton is 27 and works a full time job in Media. You will never even know he is here, thus the life of New York. Very down to Earth and relaxed even though his schedule is busier than most. We never bring the party home. Schedules in this apartment have never lined up so you never know who has to work early or who is sleeping. You don't have to tiptoe around, but no raves or music blasting in the night. Two of the best cats in the world live here. So don't be allergic! They are so nice, they do not bite or scratch. And they love to be played with.
This is more of a residential neighborhood. Of course it sounds like a city in the daytime but it is very quiet at night. It is also a very safe neighborhood. Lots of families. A beautiful park with spectacular views only 2 blocks away. Mostly Mexican so amazing Mexican food all over the place. Best taco truck in the city is only 3 blocks away toward the train.
  • I had a great stay at Aaron's place. Aaron has been very helpful with very fast answers so that I had nothing to worry about. The place is cosy with two lovely cats and friendly (Hidden by Airbnb) . Public transportation to Manhattan (subway and ferry) is very close. Definitely good value for money ! Merci

  • Lovely place and great location.

    Stephanie2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great space to stay just outside the city! Very nice roommates, and talkative and friendly cats. It was clean, less than a 10 minute walk to the subway Neighborhood was quiet and had some great places to eat. I’d recommend to anyone who wants a comfortable place to stay but doesn’t want to pay crazy new york city prices!

    Connor2018-08-15T00:00:00Z

    Apurva2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • It would be great to get the locks easier to open. Also I didn’t expect the cats, might be a problem if I was allergic to them. The stairs are Steep and some steps are uneven, might be dangerous for people with heavy baggages

    Wayne2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place is confortable, I recommand it.

    Richard2018-10-23T00:00:00Z

  • We stayed at Magdalena place for several day, and it was a perfect experience. The place is close to the subway. The area is safe and quite, and it's just about 3-5 min from the subway to the door. Magdalena's place is a classic house, the room is exactly the one that is on the picture. We had full access to the kitchen, which is well equipped and were able to cook our meals. Magdalena is a perfect host!

  • Jim & Barbara’s place in Brooklyn was the perfect experience. It’s cute, quaint and such a great location. My husband and i stayed here while in Brooklyn for a friend’s wedding. The subway was close by along with plenty of awesome eateries. J&B offered plenty of help should we need anything. Thank you so much Jim & Barbara for adding to our wonderful time in Brooklyn!

    Andrea2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and Barbara were great host! It was a such a beautiful home in a really good neighborhood. It was conveniently placed that we didn't have to drive at all to get what we needed! The furthest we had to walk was 15 minutes to get to a store that had something we needed. And we only had the pleasure of meeting Jim, but he went above and beyond helping me and my friend navigate our way around the city to get to our concert! If you're ever staying in new york I 100% recommend Jim and Barbara! It was my first time in the city and this airbnb made a lasting impression. I'm planning on coming back in September and i'm hoping this home will be available.

    Ikki2018-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best shared Airbnb's I've been in. Norma was very attentive and responsive to everything I needed and would always check in to make sure everything was okay, while never being intrusive. The place is kept very clean and there's a great amount of privacy, with EXCELLENT transportation right outside the door as well as a ton of GREAT local options within the neighborhood of Sunset Park and it's cousin Park Slope. My room was on the street side so it can be a little noisy if you're sensitive to that, but honestly this is New York; every room is noisy so you can't expect any better. Highly recommended!

  • Patricia and Cherisse's place was absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and at a convenient location - 5 to 10 mins from the subway. If you love Mexican food, you're in for a treat as there are great authentic places on the street. I have to say it's my best Airbnb experience so far - it never felt like I'm staying at an accomodation but actually at a close friend's place. Cherisse is an incredible host - she spoils you with great company and gives you access to a kitchen than is thoughtfully stocked up. I was so tired from my 16-hour flight, that I ended up spending the whole evening at home and Cherisse made me a nice meal. I also had a chance to meet and chat with other guests and all of us enjoyed hanging out and chatting around the kitchen table. The room I stayed in was even better than described - sunny, clean and pretty. Even though there are a few cats, the entire house and bathroom are very clean. I found it easy to commute into Manhattan either by the subway or even the ferry ride. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great experience. You do have to climb a few stairs - so make sure you're up for it. The neighborhood is safe and friendly. Cherisse made sure I had a wonderful experience. She is such a vibrant and lovely person, her infectious energy rubs off on you. Can't wait to be here again.

    Priya2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a good experience to stay at Patricia ‘s place .She and her wonderful roommate Cherisse created a cozy home atmosphere that I felt like I stay with my siblings .I appreciate a lot their caring approach and hospitality .They generously offered me some food they prepared for themselves ,gave me useful advice about exploring the neighborhood and simply were open to communicate. By the way when I made a check out and left their house ,I memorized that had forgotten my charger .Her roommate ,Cherisse kindly brought it to the place was . So ,many many thanks to your both ,beauties !)

    Valeriya2018-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • I don't expect I'll find many hosts who are more attentive and hospitable than Patricia and Cherisse; staying at their place was an absolute pleasure and I would gladly stay there again! The place is always kept clean and it is well located, close to many shops, restaurants and a subway station (D,M,N,R). Just note that there are cats in the apartment, so if you're allergic to them, be wary. Otherwise, they're nice cats and if you stay long enough, they'll let you pet them a lot! :) In short, I would definitely recommend staying there!

    Giorgio2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay but finding parking too some time.

    Brad2018-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • It’s very hard to add to the other reviews! My stay was 5 Stars! You can’t say much more than that!! Patricia & her Co-Host Cherise should be what all Airbnb’s Host(s) should model after. Hence, assuming, you also like cats! If you have stayed at other Airbnb’s, you only need to read a few reviews to see that this place is of gold standard. It doesn’t get much better than this. I drove and didn’t have a problem parking Friday-Sunday. I definitely recommend staying there and taking the time to observe the incredible artwork both Hosts’ created.

    Darryl2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • When I was planning my next trip, I knew that I wanted to stay at the house of Cherisse and Patricia, I did not even want to consider other options. Because my first visit impressed me a lot and left a lot of positive emotions! I was so happy that the room was available on my dates. Huge thanks for Cherisse for delicious dinner!

  • Cherisse and Patricia is friendly, all time take care about you. The place is the best i ever stay through airbnb. Super cosy, bed is confortable, the location is good , subway is 5 minutes by walk. Cherisse has beautiful and nice cats. But if i didn't know about them, i would never think she has a pet. Apartment is realy clean. Thanks for hosting me. I would stay there again :)

  • Good stay! I recommend.

    Jonathan2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time in NY and first time using Airbnb . I was traveling for business so after reading the reviews I figured this place would be ok bc I wouldn’t be there long. When the WiFi didn’t work I said “ ok no biggie I can do other things” but then the power went out the first night I was there. Being in a dark room in New York not fun AND I was unable to finish prepping for my event. The power did come back on after about 3 hrs but went out again that morning as I was ironing my suit! I tried to contact the host after arriving to my event and she accused me of using too much electricity?! How!? What?! I had a lamp and the AC unit going that was it!!! That morning was just the AC and the iron! On my third day when the power went out around 3am and I woke up coughing and having trouble breathing I decided to just sleep at the airport. I sent the host messages and didn’t get a response until days later. I’m thankful Airbnb stepped in to compensate me because the host was completely unwilling. I personally would NOT stay here again. But I mean if you don’t need power it is in a good location close to the subway and buses .

  • Magdalena was friendly and responsive. Before checking in, she checked up on me a few times to make sure I know the direction. She was flexible with when I'd arrive. She was there to make sure I had everything I need when I finally arrive. The kitchen was clean. All the cooking pots and utensils were available to use. She even left some fruits for guests in the morning. The subway station was only 5 min walk from the apartment, very convenient. The bathroom always had toilet, shampoo, and body wash. A clean towel was left on the bed to use. Room had AC. Internet was fast. Even though these are all the small things you expect an Airbnb to have, among 15 or so Airbnb I stayed in NYC, for this price range, you rarely find a place as thorough and consistent as this one. Recommend.

Our beautiful space is clean and new. It is Located in Sunset Park ( Industry City and Greenwood). It includes central heat and central air, a bathroom and an open kitchen. We are 5 minutes away from the train station, and two stops away from Manhattan on the N and D trains. Charming Room has lots of light, it is large, 10 X13 ft. The room is furnished and includes a closet, desk, chair, bed, linens, down comforter, nightstand, flowers, hardwood floors, and a rug. We also have cats.
The space is beautiful, tidy, and clean

  • Patricia's apartment is filled with light and colorful textiles, and is exceptionally clean. The room is spacious for NY standards, and the bed is comfy. She has a small army (5) of cats, but they are very quiet and chill and the litter box is kept very clean. She made breakfast for myself and the other Airbnb guest one morning, which was a delight as she works as a chef. The neighborhood is relatively far-flung from Manhattan and Williamsburg, but close enough (1 avenue over, 3 blocks down) to a good Subway stop so you can be in Lower Manhattan in 20 minutes if you catch the train on time. This is a good place to stay if you don't mind interacting and/or being in close quarters with the host. So if you like to count host interaction as a bonus of your stay, then this would be a great place at a great value.

  • A beautifully decorated home with great hospitality. Unfortunately didn’t get a see Patricia much but Cherrise was always available, welcoming and helpful. I really enjoyed our morning conversations and not to mention the lovely cats! Great location close to metro and many restaurants. Thank you to you both for allowing me to stay - it was a great pleasure and I’d definitely recommend your place!

  • Patricia and Cherisse were kind enough to book me for a couple of nights at the last moment when my previous host canceled on me. Their apartment is gorgeous and matches the photos. They were both such wonderful hosts! I would definitely stay there again.

  • Like be at home!! Very vibrant area with access to the subway system. You can taste local multicultural food, amazing coffee, handicraft beer and visit great parks around. I shared a lot of great moment with Patricia, I’ll love to come back ASAP. Hope many people can visit NY and stay at Patricia’s apartment. All the best, Alán

  • To say that Cherrise and Patricia made my stay pleasant is an understatement! I had such an amazing time staying at their home. Below is a review of my overall stay: Greeting: Upon entering Cherrise and Patricia's home, I was greeted by Cherrise with a pleasant and welcoming demeanor. We immediately hit it off and I felt as though I was speaking with a family member! I later met Patricia and she was just as friendly as Cherrise. The apartment also offers its own "greeting" with both Cherrise and Patricia's beautiful and stylish artworks. It was very clear that great thought and care went into the design of the entire home including each room that has its own separate artworks. Cleanliness: The entire home was always clean. The cats are the cleanest and most well-behaved cats that I've ever come across and there's 5 of them! There were also fresh flowers throughout the home. Cats: You can absolutely tell that the cats are not only well taken care of, but they are also unconditionally loved! The cats each have their own little personalities and it was great getting to know each individually as the days went by. You absolutely do not notice their presence as they do not make noise nor are they always running around. They are friendly so they will greet you, cuddle up to you, and even watch a movie with you but they will not bother, attack, nor harass you! Going above and beyond: Cherrise is a professional chef. This becomes abundantly clear the second you taste her breakfast! I will have to admit I was well fed during my entire stay! I enjoyed every morning eating, laughing and engaging in interesting conversations with both Cherrise and Patricia. Cherrise also offered me a tour of Industry City, took me shopping and enjoyed some Tacos, Crepes, and smoothies at local restaurants nearby. I also enjoyed my walkthrough Sunset Park with Patricia. Overall experience: My experience was lovely. The home was peaceful, beautiful, and filled with harmony. I enjoyed the conversations we had and the general atmosphere of the home. I sat in the living room often and was never made to feel as though I was intruding on their home. I often watched TV with both Cherrise and Patricia, took some walks through the neighborhood and enjoyed great cooking and food at local restaurants.

  • Cherisse & Patricia’s place is fabulous, all well-thought and sparkling clean, fresh flowers as well as all necessary amenities were present :) the host (Cherisse) is very nice person, great hospitality and plenty of local tips on food (restaurants) and places to go (sightseeing, shopping, art watching, parks, etc), and great conversation also, she is available 24/7 and ready to help. The room is very cosy, mattress & sheets (blanket) are beyond comfortable. Cats are also very welcoming still not bothering at all. The building is quiet. The neighborhood is Mexican, safe though. Best tacos. Close to train station (walking), 20-30 minutes to Times Square, 10 minutes to Manhattan, close enough to Brooklyn Bridge (by train). I had wonderful time there and enjoyed staying at Patricia & Cherisse place very much, would definitely recommend staying there to other travelers.

    Diana2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you! It was definitely the best experience I’ve ever had in an Airbnb house. I really felt like I was part of that house and that neighborhood. Charisse was a great friend, always ready to help me find the places I wanted to go. And those breakfasts were delicious! Thank you so much for everything.

    Nathanael2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Home away from home! Cherisse and Patricia were both very lovely. I stayed here for a week and could not have been more comfortable! The environment was peaceful and relaxing. They have 5 wonderful cats that are super chill and do their own thing. Cherisse was so kind to make me coffee in the mornings and I got to try out her amazing blueberry pancakes! This airbnb is by far the best experience I've ever had. I came here as a guest and left with 2 friends...and I couldn't have asked for more! Thanks a lot to both of you for making my stay a pleasant and cozy one.

Our gorgeous apartment is just two blocks away from Sunset Park, arguably the most beautiful park in New York. It's a big call, but I'm making it. We are three working professionals, me and two of the most lovely guys, and all are welcome in our home!
The bedroom has a full-sized firm mattress on a storage bed, with three shelves in the base. There is a side table with drawer, and a bamboo hanging rack with wooden coat hangers. The living room has a television, and the kitchen has stainless steel appliances, coffee maker, microwave, oven, blender, toaster and other amenities. There is a washer and drier in the apartment.
The neighborhood is Spanish and amazing. It's gentrifying rapidly, but it's still very much a Little Central America!
  • It is a good house. Kirstie was helpful and friendly. I recommend this place.

    Aysegul2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kirstie and her roommate were super sweet and great hosts. They have a beautiful place, with the most cozy bedroom ever, I mean the bed is to die for. Not too far from public transport or good food. My fiancé and I were only there for 1 night but would definitely recommend this spot. I forgot my pandora bracelet at Kirstie's and she was kind enough to offer to mail it back to me. Definitely give this host and place 100%

  • A lil hard finding parking at night but very convenient near the city. Had a lot of little stores down the block. Apartment was clean, had everything you needed and perfect for just two people. View from the window was great.

    Ashley2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • What worked well - the neighborhood we were in was safe, nice and quiet. Walking distance from the 36th St subway station. Dunkin Donuts was at the end of the block for your coffee/donut fix. The host was kind enough to leave us a brand new box of cereal, bag of oatmeal, and almond milk; we were impressed with that extra touch. What could be improved - It stated in the listing there was air conditioning, but there was none. We looked for a thermostat, an air conditioning window unit, there was none to be found. We cooled the unit with the 2 ceiling fans and opening the windows, but the first 2 nights we had difficulty sleeping due to the heat. Air conditioning is a rather big deal for us when booking in the summer time, we depend on the listings to be accurate. Also, the entry way and stairs looked pretty run down, but we know that isn't the hosts fault.

    Daniel2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Anna was very communicative, and I had no trouble checking in or out. The apartment was very conveniently located for me, and the neighborhood was nice as well, with lots of corner stores and inexpensive but tasty restaurants! The apartment was clean, tidy, and quiet -- I'm used to more noise from neighbors or outside keeping me awake when I visit New York City, but not here! I'd definitely stay here again.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Men Yee’s place. She was great at keeping in touch and responding to all of our questions quickly. Check-in was easy, the place was clean and well taken care of, and was a very short walk from the subway. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Men Yee’s place was amazing! It was extremely clean and had everything we needed! Great location in Brooklyn and had a subway station that was easy to walk to from her place! Men Yee is extremely responsive and helpful with any questions about the city, transportation, and her place! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting NY!

    Gracie2018-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my two friends had an awesome stay at this place. The apartment was so stylish, clean, and photogenic. It was right by the R/N subway stop which was super convenient to get into Manhattan. Our host was so nice, she left us recommendations for activities to do in the city and places to eat! She even let us check out a little late the last day due to our flight. Would definitely stay here again!

    Angel2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Men Yee's place was the perfect space for my friends and I during our first trip to New York. Although it is a little bit further from Manhattan and all the touristy areas we wanted to see, the subway is just a short walk away and New York transit is really easily accessible. Unfortunately for my friends, the weather wasn't the best during our trip (we got a lot of snow and rain, which was really difficult for us, as we are from California!), but Men Yee's home was like a safe haven after a long day of braving the New York cold. We didn't even need to turn on the heat! The space itself is very modern and clean, and we honestly don't have any complaints. Men Yee also put together a lot of guides, which can be found in the space, which comes in handy if it is your first time in New York. As a host, Men Yee is extremely accommodating and quick to respond, which we really appreciate! We are already looking forward to our next trip to New York and would definitely stay with Men Yee again.

    Tina2018-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We just spent a weekend in NY area and stayed at Men Yee's place. Outstanding stay. Exactly as stated, no surprises at all. Very clean, nicely decorated and with awesome little touches. Quick access to Metro, eating places as well. Only one downside was that 4th street has a very loud and busy overpass right in the front of the apartment, which is pretty loud even at night. Otherwise, absolutely no complaint's at all. Everything was A+++

    Rupin2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place is better than the pictures!!! Extremely clean and very comfortable. Definitely a great option to stay in Brooklyn and get around in NYC.

  • I love the cleanliness right when I walked in. Appreciate her quick responses and very accommodating to her guests. Amazing in every way! Truly 5 Stars rating. Thanks so much for everything! You guys are amazing hosts!

  • Staying at Men Yee's was absolutelly perfect. Comunication with her was easy and she responded really fast. Place was clean, just like on picture. The apartment is about 5 minutes to subway, location is very good, we were in Manhattan in 30 minutes, which is very good for such a big city as New York. I'm sure that once I'll come back to NYC, I will choose Men Yee's apartment again. I totally recomend this place. :-)

  • Karen's home is perfectly situated in Brooklyn in what seems to be a very family oriented area. My room here feels like a home away from home and the perfect retreat after a long day. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

  • Spacious room with specious closet, large window looking out to the backyard. The entire house is clean, spacious and charming. Close to the subway, Industry city, and the parks. When I'm in NYC, I don't want to stay anywhere else. Can't recommend enough.

  • I had the most wonderful stay at Karen's and Doug's house. They made me feel very welcome, were really helpful and we had great conversations. All in all, the kindest host one can imagine! Despite the sometimes annoying weather conditions (I stayed for 8 weeks during winter/spring), there was no reason to despair: The room is spacious, clean and bright, as well as warm, with a nice view to the quiet backyard, and the express train stop to Manhattan is just a stone's throw. One also should not skip exploring the nearby neighborhood by foot. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to get to know true New Yorkers!

  • Karen's place is simply beautiful. She is also lovely and hospitable. We loved that we were close to the subway and all of the food options around. Karen is also an artist and we loved seeing her art through out the house. I would highly recommend staying at Karen's place.

    Baha2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is lovely, and it was quite a clean and beautiful home. I recommend her place particularly for individuals in town for work. This is a great location for individuals looking to commute to downtown Brooklyn, Dumbo, and Lower Manhattan. She lives in a beautiful quiet neighborhood for running in the morning, and is around the corner from a few very nice and affordable Mexican-American pubs. Given there's only one nearby subway line, commuting into certain neighborhoods, such as Williamsburg, may be a bit tougher - but given its proximity to major throughways, taxis, Lyft, and Uber are all easily accessible, quick, and relatively affordable. Unfortunately I was unable to talk much with the hosts during my stay, but when we did they were incredibly helpful and genuine.

  • Karen is kind, helpful, and a great host! 100% recommend.

  • Great location, 2 min walk to the Metro. 2 private rooms with doors. Hang up closets in both rooms. Good kitchen with plenty of dishes, cutlery, knives, large fridge, freezer etc. Netflix included with convenient pull-out couch in front of the TV. 2 good working AC’s. Prompt, friendly and responsive hosts. Would definitely recommend. Was perfect for our family of 5. Note: just in case you’re not used to that type of bathtub tap; in order to make the water come out of the overhead shower, pull the metal ring around the opening of the tap downwards. Might save u from having to ask the host :)

Free parking in front and free and paid parking under highway overpass. Public transportation to all five boroughs on corner. I challenge you to find a place like this in Brooklyn. Often have photo/video shoots going on here. Mi casa, su casa. Just replace my booze if you drink them. Apart from the liquor, no souvenirs, please. • From the start, the host was great with communication. You can expect quick replies to your questions and messages. He had outstanding hospitality, checked in on us to offer us places to go and sights to see. He had everything neat and organized for us. If you want to know more about the local culture, food, and history he is more than happy to share that with you. There were some problems on my end and he was completely understanding. The place itself is very nice, and the host made sure that it was clean. He was very personable and easy to talk to. Expect nothing less than great from him. Very glad about my choice!

  • I had a great time staying with William over the last two nights. First of all, William is a gracious and helpful host who made sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable. He was also quick to respond to communications and flexible both in terms of check in and check out. Secondly, the apartment is cool, a chill hideaway in a characterful neighborhood in Brooklyn, and very, very close to the subway system. Third, William is a lifelong Brooklynite and New Yorker and has good knowledge of both what's going on now and what has happened over time. It was enjoyable talking to him. Thanks for a great time!

  • William was one of the best hosts I’ve had and even showed me around Brooklyn! Very dope person

    Karlee2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Will was an awesome host! It's not a flashy or extravagant apartment, but it's very comfortable. Make sure to read the description because it is only couches and air mattresses available. The location is great! It is a 1 minute walk to the train and it's one stop away from Barclay's Center. Good food places around as well. If you're looking for a simple, comfortable place to stay at a reasonable price, Will's apartment is perfect. Great location, comfortable couch, and great host! His dog is also amazing! We booked last minute on a busy weekend, so the price seemed a little steep. However, our options were limited, so it was definitely worth it!

He is the cook, chief bottle-washer and gardener who will be your primary host. Jon is a sports journalist who knows the best places to visit and where to eat. Maggie is senior citizen, clean, well-cared for and well-behaved medium-sized dog. As kitchen access is limited to the fridge and microwave, we provide breakfast upon request from 7-10 am (for an extra charge of $10/person) that you can enjoy in the dining room or outdoors in the garden. We can do a few loads of washing & drying if you are staying more than three nights, and we have an iron & ironing board. If you need some time in the office, just ask. Also bring your own laptop to use our wi-fi.
    • Half a block uphill to beautiful Sunset Park, at one of the highest elevations in Brooklyn. Jog, meditate or enjoy the stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty. • Half a block to Fifth Ave. with some of the best Mexican/Latino restaurants in Brooklyn or a little farther on the other side of the Park you can feast in Brooklyn's Chinatown. Enjoy tacos, margaritas and tres leches; and dim-sum, dumplings and noodles. • Around the corner on 5th Avenue great supermarket and dry cleaner. • 15 minute subway ride on R Line to great restaurants, shopping and experience the awesome Brooklyn feel in Park Slope & Prospect Park, and other cool neighborhoods (Gowanus, Red Hook, Carroll Gardens and Fort Greene). Enjoy events at Barclays Center, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).
  • The whole experience with Jon and Joaquin was absolutely amazing, from the moment that our booking was accepted communication was excellent. Joaquin offered tips and advice in advance of our stay which we found extremely helpful. Our room was simply breathtaking, it sits on the third floor of an approx one hundred year old Brownstone with its own private bathroom which was also beautiful, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were supplied for us to use if we wished. Jon and Joaquin have renovated their home to an extremely high standard with passion and sensitivity to reflect its period charm, it is the perfect balance of old and new. You will be amazed at how beautiful it is, you are also free to enjoy their garden which is equally as beautiful. Their home is filled with light, love and laughter and we feel privileged to have been able to share their home albeit for a short time. I think we made quite good friends with Maggie and Bodhi, two very laid back dogs that it was also a pleasure to get to know. We were given so many helpful tips from where to eat, art galleries to visit the best use of the subway, you can only get this sort of advice from the people who live there. The subway was only two blocks away and felt very safe, you can purchase a 7 day unlimited pass for 30 dollars which is excellent value. There were endless restaurants, deli's and supermarkets nearby, some of the best sandwiches we have ever had. At the top of their street sits Sunset Park with a view that will render you speechless day or night, the park is used by many of the locals from walking their dogs to families using the children's area or vast groups enjoying their early morning exercising. We felt very sad to leave such a wonderful place but most importantly to leave two people who made us feel so welcome and have left us with the most incredible memories we can't thank you enough.

  • You can’t find anything more charming than this place in New York The location is so convenient and safe and very close to Sunset Park for a stunning view of Manhattan. I felt at home from the first moment, slept like a baby in the beautiful bedroom with lovely windows from which I could see the sunrise. It was in one word PERFECT Thank you John and Joaquin for your hospitality.

  • Joaquin and Jon have a beautiful home, and two very sweet dogs. As others have commented, I came into the city early one morning and Joaquin had coffee and breakfast waiting for me when I arrived, which was a welcome treat. Joaquin clearly works very hard to keep his home and garden an inviting space, to great effect. There is a subway stop just 2 blocks away, which makes it simple to get just about anywhere in the city. I stayed with them while in the city on business, and it took me about 40-45 minutes to get from their home to the Flatiron District for work each day. Their neighborhood is a bit south of the more recently gentrified Brooklyn neighborhoods such as Park Slope, Williamsburg, etc., but the subway gives reasonably quick access to just about anywhere. This is important since dining options and sights/attractions are not as good in the immediately surrounding neighborhood as they are further north in Brooklyn or on Manhattan. But for the traveler that doesn't mind frequent journeys on the subway, Joaquin's is a lovely place to stay.

  • Joaquin’s house is completely beautiful. It’s a real retreat from the busy city. The bedroom is big and comfortable with everything you need, and the bathroom is clean and perfect. Joaquin was so helpful and kind, always making sure I had what I need. If you are looking for somewhere close to the city for a short visit, I would choose somewhere more central, but this place is very quiet and was great for my 5 days trip. The subway is very close with good transport links, it takes 30-40 mins to get into the centre of Manhattan. I highly recommend this gorgeous house.

  • Joaquin and John have a one-of-kind space and are incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. My wife and I spent four nights and wish we could’ve stayed longer. Sunset Park is easier to get to and from that you might think and is worth exploring while you are there. This is the best Air B&B in Brooklyn!

  • A very stylish and impeccably clean space in a prime Brooklyn location. Most importantly, Joaquin and Jon were welcoming, warm and very hospitable. I had everything I needed and really didn't want to leave. Check in and check out was seamless. I will return. Thank you again.

  • Joaquin was a great host and the house was seriously one of the best designed houses I’ve ever stayed in through Airbnb. Their dogs are also really chill. I didn’t even mind that it was a private room compared to an entire apartment because it was such a great experience. I highly recommend staying here.

  • I stayed here for two months while doing a summer internship. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and in a very convenient location. Joaquin, John, and Maggie made me feel like part of the family. I had a great time!
