The bunk room has been created as a nod to the hotel's creation as a safe place for sailors. You'll find the same thing in this space with 18' ceilings- cozy, strong, and comfortable triple bunk beds. All reserved guests must have a valid i.d and living address being 50+ miles from the downtown location.
  • It was fun

    Julia2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everyone at The Society Hotel is incredibly kind and accommodating. I had a fantastic experience staying with them, and would absolutely do so again.

  • Really a cool place in Downtown and very cheap

    Sergio2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The bed was comfortable and the bunk enclosure was cute, efficient and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms were also nice, clean and well appointed and no line anytime I wanted to use them. The common area was a bit dark feeling being in the center and no direct windows but this was more than compensated for by the friendly cafe the lovely fireplace and really cozy couch and the really neat roof deck. I was truly sorry to miss the Wednesday night Jazz. Most important of all was how genuine, helpful and friendly all the staff was at all times. I look forward to staying there again when I return to Portland. Also the location is great.

  • This place is perfect if you are travelling by yourself to Portland. I was in town for a concert and I enjoyed my stay at The Society Hotel. Checking in and out was super easy and all their amenities were useful.

    Derek2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • So clean! The bunks are seriously cozy! Beware when taking a nap! You might not get up! Everyone staying was polite and careful of noise around them. Lobby has great mocha lattes ;)

    Erica2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and very comfortable! The coffee shop was amazing to have in the building, fireplace was exactly what I needed!

    Tatev2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent spot to crash for a night or two in a great location in Portland. Nice touches of privacy — with the light, outlets, and curtain all in your (even comfier than expected) bed. Spotless bathrooms. If you’re nervous about staying in a “hostel,” as I was, don’t be — it’s a great budget spot you won’t regret booking. Also, the cafe is great.

Originally a hotel for sailors, we provide rooms with everything you need and nothing you don't. Beautiful light, close to everything!
  • Trendy spot with cool lobby.

    Jennifer2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Super stylish and clean yet affordable place right near the Saturday market and walking distance to voodoo donut. There's a coffee shop in the lobby that stays open until 11pm which is very convenient and have I mentioned the view from the roof top? they were kind enough to have a space heater and provide blankets too.

    Hwayun2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is exactly as described, and I enjoyed my stay here! The shared bathroom was sparking clean and much beyond my expectation; the towels are also pretty clean; one little trouble I had with the bedroom was about the beddings, seems less clean than the towels and my skin felt itchy after sleeping on it.

    Ziwei2019-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cool place that was unique and staff very accommodating. Good spot for the young and adventurous although the large homeless population on the streets and sidewalks around the hotel detracted from an otherwise pleasant experience.

    William2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very cool, very unique hotel. The look and feel are fantastic. Just a heads up, I did not catch it’s a shared bathrooms hotel. Now it’s ok, because the bathrooms are immaculate and never busy. Very cool experience, and not too far of a walk to downtown restaurants and bars

    Tristan2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cool little hotel spot in Chinatown Portland. Only stayed here to crash for a night since my other reservation fell through last minute, but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the cute little amenities that came with it. Note to those looking to book: the room I had was on the smaller side due to the bathroom being shared with the hallway, but I didn’t have any trouble whatsoever with that quirky little aspect and the bathroom itself is a single. Good for those looking for a true Portland experience!

    Michael2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Right in the middle of old town. Perfect place to be near all the action. The only con is all the homeless people .

    Ricardo2019-07-08T00:00:00Z

You can also walk almost anywhere from here, with pedestrian access to most of the major bridges here, all within a few minutes walk. We are just 2 blocks west of the Downtown Side of the Burnside Bridge! The entertainment district is located around the corner on the next block! This neighborhood has it alls Cannabis dispensary 2 blocks away!
  • Loved that everything you want is within walking distance.

    Charlotte2017-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Location. Location. Location. This spot is right in Chinatown near Voodoo Doughnuts, great food, a few awesome bars and the Lan Su Chinese Garden. It was also great to know that Charlie and Ali were right downstairs if we needed anything.

    Whitney2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Charlie's place was great! Small studio apartment like with their deli right below (Which is delicious btw, the grilled cheese and the italian job are MUST gets). The area was close to the popular night life in Portland so it was a bit noisy at night, but mainly everything was in walking distance and have very little complaints about the place overall. Will definitely be staying here my next couple of stays in Portland!

    Luis2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Super central to everything! Deli downstairs that they give you credit to is delicious and the Chinese garden down the street is super pretty. Voodoo and Stumptown are around the corner, which is great too!

    Mihiri2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Charlie's place is a hidden gem: not only do you get to stay in an entire apartment in the heart of downtown, we had the pleasure of getting to know Charlie, Alicia, and the employees at Charlie's Deli. Truly a collection of some of the kindest and most generous people we've met in a long time! Charlie also gives a $10 credit per person, per day to eat at his deli, and We found that his deli truly did have the most amazing sandwiches! Highly recommend eating there! The place was clean, organized, and comfortable. Future guests should know there are lots of homeless folks near Charlie's and that they keep to themselves--we weren't bothered by them or uncomfortable. Future guests should also know that there is a nearby club that gets loud at night. The club didn't bother us at all, but if you're a light sleeper you should know. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

    Garrett2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place in a great location for a good price! I would definitely stay here again.

    Jordan2019-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay so much at Charlie’s Place that I’m hesitant to write a great review for fear it will become so popular there won’t be availability next time we visit Portland. We were only two but this studio apartment with queen-size futon-style bed plus a pull-out couch would be comfortable for four. The kitchen includes the basics – apartment-sized refrigerator, electric stove/oven, cooking and dishware for four. No microwave or television – we considered that a plus – but the generous, thoughtful hosts provided the usual amenities: shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, iron – and left snacks in the fridge. During the work week (M-F), they give a credit at the deli downstairs which features “Portland’s best” sandwiches and a variety of microbrewed beers. Portland has great eats; DO take advantage of this one. A stone’s throw from the Chinatown gate, it’s super close to Voodoo Donuts (if you like that) and the Burnside market. Easy walking distance to MAX lines in all directions. We never felt unsafe, but were initially worried about noise. An unfounded concern – the room faces the back of the building and was nice and quiet except for the hum of the window air conditioner.

    Nyla2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing time here! Perfect location for exploring Portland! Everything seen in the pictures is accurate. Charlie and Ali were very friendly and hospitable! They let us leave our bags at the deli before our check in time and after we checked out. The deli credit was also very generous too and tasty! The only thing that was not so great was the bed was very firm, but that was minor compared to the rest of the experience. Would stay again! (:

  • Insane location and even better pad. The place was sparkling clean.

    Katie2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place! The decor of the apartment is amazing and very modern, and the lovation was great. Which I could have stayed longer.

    Line2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great, I was in town for a conference, so I left early in the morning and returned later in the evening. With the windows closed the bedroom was very quiet and they have fans for airflow and a lot of white noise which I love. The bed was cozy, couldn't ask for anything more. There are a lot of homeless in the area, but there are private patrol people that walk day and evening. I ask if it was safe to walk around at night and they said yes, that there are just a lot of homeless.

    Nicole2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay! I would definitely recommend staying at place!!

    Waael2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Austin and Raze were fantastic to work with and very hospitable. I had a very VERY late flight and they were willing to work with me to make sure I made it in safely. I can’t wait to come back to Portland because I will DEFINITELY be staying here!

    Lauren2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place had a great location with a city and river view and was just around the corner from a light rail stop. The room was setup nicely and, although I spent most of my time out exploring Portland, it was nice place to sit around and relax. If I travel there again, I will definitely see if it is available. Austin was very helpful with suggestions for a place to eat. I arrived in the city in the morning well before check-in time and Austin took care of my suitcase so that I could head right out in town and not have to worry about it.

    Stephen2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • This space is so sleek, clean, and beautiful that it's easy to forget that you're staying in someone's apartment. I'd happily stay here again.

    Kathy2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great private room in the old chinatown neighborhood of portland. It is conveniently walkable to many local restaurants and bars, and bussable to the rest of the city. Austin was welcoming and helpful in suggesting places to eat and visit, but he also gave us the privacy to feel like we had the place to ourselves. Would definitely stay again!

  • This is a lovely boutique hotel. My room was spacious and extremely clean. The little cafe in the lobby is great and you get access to the vary nice roof top terrace when you purchase an item. It is a transitional neighborhood, so there are homeless on the street. It is centrally located, lots of great restaurants and bars right out its doorstep. I felt very safe and would return again as a solo female traveler.

    Chris2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Society Hotel is absolutely charming. It was clean and comfy, and the front desk staff was incredibly kind and attentive. Having such a cute cafe right downstairs is a treat, and the roof deck was perfect for a nighttime drink!

This one-of-a-kind property sits in the heart of downtown Portland. Built in 1888, this small piece of Portland history has miraculously survived waves of urban development without losing its 19th century charm. Enjoy a private upstairs apartment.
Architecturally, the home boasts original features that make this style of 19th century Victorians such beautiful and intriguing properties. The steep roofs, high ceilings, intricate exterior paint details, and hard wood floors offer a first-hand glimpse at the handmade quality and timeless craftsmanship of the late 1800’s.
Situated directly across from the Portland Library, two blocks away from Pioneer Square and only minutes away from Portland State University, it is truly situated in the heart of the city. It is surounded by fine dining opportunities at Jakes, Jakes Grill, Southpark, Ringside Fishhouse, and the Heathman.
  • Patti and Jerry were gracious host and hostess, and very down-to-earth, too. My wife and I felt immediately comfortable with them. The building is situated in an excellent downtown location, adjacent to public transit routes (MAX and Portland Streetcars), and three blocks to Pioneer Courtyard. Square. The downstairs houses an attorney's office, while two bedrooms and another office are upstairs. (Note: There are 17 steps to the second floor.) We enjoyed complete privacy during our three-night stay. We had access to one bedroom, the bathroom, and the kitchenette. The facilities were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, but there is only a shower (no bathtub). As other reviewers have commented, noise from the public transit system and neighboring bar Momo can be an issue for light sleepers. However, we got accustomed to the noise after the first night. There are many excellent restaurants in the neighborhood. Nordstrom, Macy's, Powell's Books, Whole Foods, are all within 10-15 minutes' walk. The blocks are short! Patti and Jerry invited us to drop by their log cabin in Stevenson, WA, when we visited the Columbia River Gorge area. That was the most beautiful and unique log cabin we had ever seen. In summary, we enjoyed our stay at Rose City Restoration very much and look forward to returning. Thanks, Patti and Jerry, and it was a pleasure meeting you!

    Bert2014-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house was amazing and our host was incredible. The location is unbeatable, walking distance from everything.

    Nestor2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Patti's place for 3 nights. The location is central to everything in Portland, the room looks as it appears in the photos (just lovely!), while the room is in a working business, I felt safe, secure and that my room was private at all times. Previous reviewers have mentioned the noise, but I didn't find it an issue & didn't need to use the ear plugs available. Lastly, I only met Patti & her husband once, they were very kind, offered suggestions on things to see in Portland & made me feel very welcome. Patti was also really great with her e-mail communication. Thanks so much for a great stay. I hope to be back one day!

    Tanya2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great experience at Rose City Restoration during my recent trip to Portland. The guests were very accommodating and communication was excellent. The room was very clean and comfortable. It had everything I needed, and then some. As others have mentioned, the location is fantastic -- a few blocks from the Portland Art Museum, Farmers Market, Director's Park and the Adler St / 10th food trucks. I will absolutely look to stay here during my next visit to Portland. Thanks, Patti!

    Jason2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is in a great location downtown near Pioneer Square and is in walking distance to a lot of points of interest. Patti was very communicative throughout my stay, including accepting a late night call from me when I had trouble finding the entry keypad (my fault). The upper floor is well-appointed with all the expected amenities, and is quiet despite being next to a bar with an outside patio. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Portland.

    Micah2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This listing exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect and accomodations very nicely renovated and furnished, a great bed and bedding, and all amenities accounted for. The large bathroom (with towel warmer) and office/kitchenette down a private, carpeted halway made it into an airy apartment. Because of the unique arrangement up the stairs from a functioning law office (which was closed, I guess for vacation, and so cmopletely quiet) in a lovely rowhouse, it felt like walking into your own home. A really good value and experince. Thank you..

    Marsha2014-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Patti's listing is very conveniently located in Downtown Portland - 5 minutes walk to Blue Star Donuts, Nordstrom, Whole Foods and many other stores. It is also a comfortable accommodation with plush mattress and pillows. The bathroom is spacious and comes with a towel warmer and necessary toiletries. The keyless entry also makes things very convenient.

    Ariana2014-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Patti’s place was fantastic! The bed was super comfy and the location was great! Just a walk or train ride from pretty much everything. There’s a nice bar just around the corner and a Target just a block away if you forget anything, but Patti also has a wide array of toiletries in case you forgot something. The only bad thing I could say is that it got very warm 2 days and not even the floor unit could really keep the place cool, but Patties checked in on me to made sure I was good. All in all a great stay!

  • Great view! Central location. Comfortable furnishings. The shower could have used a handhold bar and a place to put shampoo, etc., while showering; there was no Kleenex available. There were no table lamps (except for a small table lamp in the entry way), only overhead lighting, so reading in bed at night or in the living room area was only lit by the overheads. Not terribly inviting or intimate. If you don't want to park in the area provided in the building, it is easy to park in the parking garage across the street.

  • Great stay in the studio apartment. It had a lovely deck which was a surprise from the photos. Check in was really easy and the location was amazing. I walked everywhere during my stay.

  • Exactly as described, but with little great touches I didn't expect, like the Calphalon Cookware.

Spacious 1-bedroom, 1-bath apartment with huge windows in downtown Portland
A hop, skip, and jump away from Pioneer Courthouse Square, Director Park and Powell’s City of Books, this centrally located 1-bedroom, 1-bath is smack dab in the middle of Portland’s classy downtown. Feast your eyes on great views from floor-to-ceiling windows that let in so much lovely light. Large rooms let you spread out and relax in style. Bring your chef’s hat, your cozy abode sports a fully equipped kitchen, though some of Portland’s finest restaurants are just a stone’s throw away!
Your downtown Portland location puts you steps from Pioneer Square plus great dining and nightlife. Your just a short jaunt from Waterfront Park with great food carts, arts and crafts vendors, and outdoor performances. And, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, with a great planetarium and hands-on exhibits, is just across the Willamette River, with the City of Roses’ numerous weird and wonderful haunts also close by!
  • The only time you called or checked on your guest or answered anything was when there was a miscommunication she called me about the check in arrangements to see if she could get money then told me to rebook then said she couldn’t help me after she got 650$ extra dollars from me I’m just disgusted with the corporate thievery bulllshit

    Greg2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with outstanding view and centrally located.

  • Stylish place right at the heart of the city. Lots of food and coffee nearby and the check in is very simple and fuss free. Great place! Love it!

    Ruben2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were so happy with our stay in this condo! The view, style and central location drew us in but we underestimated the convenience of this location being 1st time Portland visitors. I knew we were close to Pioneer Square but I didn’t realize this meant we were 1-2 blocks from all MAX lines including a 1/2 block from the red line leading to/from the convention center and airport! I also loved being 2 blocks from 40 international food trucks and a couple blocks from great donut shops, nightlife and great shopping! I do wish we had access to the gym & parking for our 5 night stay-this would have been a welcome improvement but was clearly not an option at our time of renting. My only frustration however was the lack of dresser drawers for the four of us which led to the necessity for us to mostly live out of our suitcases (for all things not hung). This would be such an easy fix to improve an otherwise excellent condo!

    Miriam2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Location wonderful, very nice building. I am a “minimalist” but you need to have certain pieces of furniture/rugs to make it comfortable. If staying just a few days and living out of a suitcase, it would be excellent, but staying a week, we would have appreciated a place to put clothes that are not hung - ended up putting them on window sills. This would take a $25 hanging shelf from Target. This is a corporate apartment without any personal touches or extra amenities whatsoever, but a very comfortable bed, couch and chair. For very little more, it would be a terrific place. I would have liked to give it 4-1/2 stars but that was not available.

    Jane2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The only reason I’m giving this Airbnb 3 stars is because the bed is horrendously uncomfortable. My shoulder has hurt since the first night I slept there. The blinds are pretty insufficient as well. Don’t plan on sleeping in if you’re staying here. Otherwise it was an excellent location with an extremely easy check in/out system.

    Steven2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Continued my stay here and loved it!

    Ruben2019-04-24T00:00:00Z

Welcome to the home base for your car-free Portland weekend. 30 minutes from the airport. 10 minutes from the Amtrak station and the inter-city Bolt Bus to/from Seattle. Walk to most of Portland's attractions. Stop back by during your day for pit stops, showers, naps, or to drop off your sales-tax-free purchases. Enjoy easy access to all of Portland via user-friendly public transportation - choose from any MAX light rail line, streetcar line, and 20 bus lines. No frills, all the basics covered.
Inside a small modern 450sf / 42m2 1-bedroom apartment, your room is 10 x 12 feet / 3 x 3.3 meters with a high ceiling and a double/full bed. There is space on the bedroom floor for your suitcases, shelves for personal items, and a bathroom sink top for your toilet articles. Upon request, get a bar and hangers for your clothes. If you're looking for luxury and total privacy, this is not the place. It's about having a clean, safe, comfortable, affordable and conveniently-located place to sleep and shower.
Portland's Old Town Chinatown neighborhood is a vibrant business district with lots of entertainment venues, restaurants, strip clubs and nightlife. Weekends can be noisy outside your bedroom window with revelers, sirens and train horn - ear plugs provided. The neighborhood is a central location for social services, so many homeless people hang out and sleep on the streets. They won't harm you if you don't harm them. If this makes you feel uncomfortable, you may want to book another place.
  • As many others have pointed out, the description was very accurate. You are using Katherine's bedroom so she will occasionally need to come to grab some things like clothes and shoes. She did notify us when she entered and never came in when we were in the room. The bed was able to accommodate both of us (my husband is 6-foot) and was pretty comfortable. The room also had its own heater and control. The bathroom was made for easy accessibility and had a really low shower head but we had no difficulty with it. The pressure and temperature were great. The location was definitely the best highlight. We were in Portland for a convention and we were only 1-2 blocks away from the TriMet which in turn was only one stop away from the convention centre. I also was able to walk everywhere easily. The area was Old Town Chinatown so there were homeless people around but I never felt unsafe. At night, you can hear a lot of noise but we were used to it back home. Katherine provided brand new earplugs in case we had difficulty sleeping. Katherine was an awesome host. She always wanted to make sure our stay was the best and was receptive to any suggestions. When we were there, the wifi was a bit spotty but we told her this and I wouldn't be surprised if this was resolved quickly. This place is definitely a great recommendation if you just need a quick place to stay that's nearby everything.

    Susannah2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Katherine's place was awesome. She is a very accommodating host, and an extremely pleasant person. It's a nice convenient place located close to many great things in the downtown area.

    Brandon2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine is a thoughtful and responsive host. She made our stay very pleasant and seamless. Katherine’s home is clean and welcoming. The location is walking distance to most major attractions. Noisy street could be an issue but Katherine provided us with ear plugs, so that our sleep was not interrupted. We both think her home is very good for the value.

    Alberta2018-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a TOP NOTCH stay for a solo traveler ! The location is incredible - lots of walkability, including to Powell's Books and Voodoo Doughnut - and Katherine is great, very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend it!

    Lauren2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine’s apartment was great all around for the traveler looking a explore the city!

    Celeste2018-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine is nice and thoughtful. It's a pleasure to stay at her apartment.

    Hui2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice flat in a good location. Katherine is a welcoming person, help you for the needy things, and a nice guide of the city. Very recommended for a quick glance of Portland

    Keitapu2018-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I looked up reviews ahead of time and most of them are accurate. Katherine is a great host and very respectful and resourceful. She helped us with local food suggestions and had a plethora of guides for us to look through. At first, we didn’t know what it was going to be like, as she has a one bedroom apartment and we were sleeping in her room, but her cheery personality and pleasant atmosphere made up for it. As I stated, we slept in her room and she slept on the couch in the living room. Most of the time we came in she was either working at her desk or asleep on the couch. She is a heavy sleeper so we never disturbed her with any unnecessary noise. We didn’t spend much time there during the day as we were there for a business conference, but the time that we did spend and the conversations we had with Katherine were very pleasant. There was a neighbor who would play his music and the bass would rattle the wall a little bit, but it wasn’t too loud and she supplied earplugs and even told us that the room could get a bit noisy. We saw board games and various books on her shelves so if you are into those things, I am sure they are available. We just didn’t have time. She is located in China Town and with the proper navigation it is fairly safe. Keep in mind, there are a lot of homeless people sleeping in the streets, and doing other things, so if that is something that makes you uncomfortable or feel unsafe, you may want to look closer to Loyd Center for accommodation. We had to cross the street a couple times to avoid running into large groups blocking the sidewalk, but for the most part, it was ok. The bus line drops you off right on the corner, though, so you can always do that, and it is only a couple blocks away from the Max line. Her place is close to major public locations, such as Powell’s Book Store and Voodoo Donuts, so we didn’t have a problem navigating the city. We recommend Sizzle Pie for some good junk pizza (open till 3am), Bowery’s Bagels for a great breakfast sandwich (get the salt bagel), Tilt for some killer bacon cheddar stuffed tots and chicken biscuits (to die for), and if you are willing to go a little further out of downtown, Pine State Biscuits have some of the best chicken and gravy biscuit sandwiches this side of the Mississippi. Yeehaww! In all seriousness, Katherine was a wonderful host.

  • The apartment is beautiful, functional & very well located. The view and the light of the unit were 2 of the things that I liked most. The check in and check out processes were easy and without any inconveniences. The Stay Alfred app worked great. General staff & concierge were very helpful! It was a pleasant experience my stay @Stay Alfred. Highly recommended!

  • Roomy, modern, quiet, and very clean with a comfortable bed. It was nice having a washer and dryer right in the unit. The air conditioning was great. We had everything we needed. Checkin and checkout was very easy. The location was awesome, and on a clear day I think I could barely see Mount Hood in the distance. I highly recommend this place!

  • The Stay Alfred property went above and beyond and this is truly a steal. The location is right in the heart of downtown Portland and you can walk to just about everything. The property was kept cleaner than many hotels and they left a nice list of recommendations for local things to do on the table. They give extra towels and linens and the space is quite nice with floor to ceiling windows. We enjoyed the cable TV as an added plus and definitely would recommend. Look forward to staying again next time we're in town.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. Check-in was seamless. The place was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Easy with our toddler. Great view. Great light. Great bed. The location was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Towels are thick and absorbent, place was sparkling clean, everything you could possibly need is provided and the bottle of wine left to greet me on arrival was so yummy I am looking to get my own case of it. Check in and out, daily access is simple and I always felt safe. Location is amazing and I loved walking everywhere I needed to go. Hosts are responsive and very kind. I could live here permanently. :) Thank you for sharing this treasure, indeed a precious pearl, with me.

  • Absolutely amazing! Very comfortable and accommodating and located in the center of mostly everything! The Pearl District where this apartment is located has so many things to do and they are all in walking distance! The apartment itself was clean, spacious, and perfect in every way. The owner, Jane, was a pleasure to communicate with and the directions and instructions were impeccable. It was incredibly easy to find the apartment. I would recommend renting from Jane!

    Wesley2014-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Pearl on the Park was fantastic! It looked just like the pictures, and the local is central - could not be more convenient for us. Jane as wonderful to work with.

    Susan2014-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's place is amazing. Amazing apartment, appliances, decorations, amenities, location, everything is stocked so that you can have a great time here. We (two adults and a young child) stayed at Jane's apartment for 1 month, and Jane's apartment was perfect because it had all the amenities to live comfortably out of our suitcase. The Pearl district location is really convenient, close to streetcars and within walking distance to Downtown and other cool locations. Would definitely stay again if I needed to! Thanks Jane!

    Roger2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • I love this apartment and enjoyed every moment of my stay! It is the perfect size, outfitted with everything you could possibly need and in a perfect location to walk everywhere in the Pearl. Sparkling clean and the decor is lovely. I was so comfortable here. The host is amazing and although we did not meet I know she would have responded immediately if anything went wrong. But, nothing went wrong. :) It was a perfect stay and I can't wait to come back. Thank you Jane for even having sharp scissors in the kitchen which came in handy several times. And the Red Diamond wine you left for me was deliciously perfect! Thank you for everything! You are the best.

  • My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at Pearl on the Park. The apartment is very comfortable and accessible to many places by foot / public transportation. Jane is also a very responsive host, she gets back to emails very quickly. Would like to stay again on our next visit to Portland.

    Ho-Ling2014-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment is well stocked with kitchen utensils and all other items one needs. It has lots of personal touches making it feel like 'home'. Jane is a good hostess as we had difficulty getting in and she quickly resolved the issue. Only drawback for us is the park across street, which unfortunately has many homeless individuals. We would walk to restaurants (plenty nice & trendy ones in Pearl District!) and I always walked with my husband as I did not feel safe by myself as we approached park.

    Rebecca2014-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • My wife stayed here three nights on our trip to Portland, and I couldn't recommend this place more. The location was great, the apartment itself was very comfortable and posh feeling, and Jane was so responsive and helpful.

  • This is a well styled apartment in a great location within Portland. Only a stones throw away from great bars and restaurants with the apartment being very comfortable and clean in a new building. I highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Portland.

  • This is a gorgeous space with a breathtaking view. The price is comparable to a lot of the hotels in the area but you get a full kitchen and many other amenities. The location is incredibly central: a minute walk away from the MAX and close enough to Pioneer Square to enjoy the food trucks. If you are doing anything in downtown, this place is pretty perfect.

  • Place was cute. View was great and the location. It could have been cleaner so that’s why 4 stars.

  • My mom and I stayed at Bob and Karen's phenomenal place in mom's first visit to Portland and we couldn't be happier! The communication, the check-in process, spotlessly clean homes and location are one of the best things we experienced! We would love to come back and sit by the deck when it isn't pouring outside :) thank you !

    Linh2018-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great view. Perfect for 4 people. Walkable/Uber and a free spot for the car.

    Janet2019-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time I spend more than a month and Bob's and Karen place. I have nothing but good things to say, Last time I told them the internet wasn't really great, and they did upgraded the service and a brand new TV!!!. they are great communicating and everything in the apt works great. Super clean and well equipped. Of course the balcony and the view are the best!! Thanks again for a great experience.

    Eduardo2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and pristine apartment. Was aborted visit but was perfect. Thanks so much for the hospitality Bob and Karen!

  • Great place.

    Nhan2018-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is everything the pictures say it is. Scenic, stylish, cute, close to everything. I had such a great time using this place as my "base of operations" and when my time was over, just a quick walk to Union Station and I was on to my next city! Bob and Karen were so great with communication...always quick and at all times (my flight was so delayed that I arrived after midnight!) and it really took the stress out of my travel to work with them. The place has such a fun view of the river and the Steel Bridge. And it was a quick walk/MAX/Uber/Lyft to everywhere else I wanted to go in the city!

    Christopher2019-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, bright comfortable condo, right on the Willamette River. It seems almost new, everything was there to make your stay a pleasure. We loved watching all the activity of the light rail, boats, birds, runners on the path. There is a well stocked little market quite close with any extras you may need. It is close to downtown, shopping, Portland Art Museum and OMSI. A good value.

  • Jeremy was a great host! He was always very quick at responding to my queries, no matter how silly they were. Living at the apartment was a great experience, thanks to the concierge present. They were of great help too. Not only did they help me with getting familiar with the building, but also helped me know about the locality too. Had a great time looking out of the window every evening. Jeremy's place is aptly located, you just have to get out of the building, and voila! The streetcar station and the bus stops are right there. The benefit of being loacted at Pearl district was that there was things to do, places to eat and places to drink everywhere.

  • I had an amazing stay at this place. It's very accessible by public transit. The concierges were very helpful. Jeremy is a great host. He responded my queries promptly when though he was in Singapore. About the place, Loaded with amenities, everything that you can expect from a great host. I just loved the amazing views on the 11th floor. Especially the sunrise across Mount Hood. All in all it was a great experience. Pro tip: If you're a visitor then make use of Trimet service. The place is close to buses, Max and streetcar and take you anywhere in Portland way.

  • If you’re reading this review and interested in this listing, I’d highly recommend that you book directly from Vacasa and save quite a bit in Airbnb cleaning fees. I booked this on Airbnb only to realize the listing on Vacasa was some $200 cheaper. Pros: Great location, easy check in, conveniently located, upscale building. Cons: No blackout curtains and the morning light can get pretty bright. A queen bed in one bedroom would have been better than a double

For downtown living, this condo is quiet. It is in a small (under 20 unit) complex on the first (not ground level) floor. (Ground level in a restaurant) The very large patio, and park immediately across Park Ave is nice with a pet. See everyone else walking from far and wide to bring their pet to where you already are! There are no public spaces (gym or otherwise). Our building takes up 1/8 of the block. Another 1/8 is an office building on our north side. The remaining 3/4 of the block is the Hampton Inn and Suites. Please note, my condo is on the hotel side of the complex. There is no view of the park from the condo. Parking is available at the Hampton for $300/month with full in/out privileges.
The Pearl District is full of shopping, restaurants and night life! The North Park Blocks divide the Pearl from Chinatown.
  • Thank you very much for the kindness. We hope to return to your accommodation soon. Everything was perfect.

  • At Heather's place you can expect to have everything you need to enjoy your stay in Portland no matter how long you plan to stay. Heather is very responsive and informative if you need anything while staying in her unit. All you will need to bring is your clothes and personal stuff. Don't need a car for you are half a block from the bus system on two blocks from the trolley or rail. Portland's transportation system is almost as good as New Yorks, and in some ways better. Many restaurants are within walking distance. We stayed there for two months and did not eat in the same place twice.

  • Nice and clean hotel with great, kind and assistive staff in a good location if you want to be able to walk to a lot of popular spots in less than 15 minutes or so. Lovely rooftop when the weather is nice, although not many other amenities other than a cafe if you’re looking for them. The general area has a lot of homeless folks if that’s off-putting to you, but it still feels walkable and fairly safe. Will probably come back here next time I am here for work.

  • This was my very first time staying in the Old Town area in Portland and, I must say, this was also the first time I've had such an amazing stay in this city. From the moment I checked-in and well until my easy-breezy check-out, The Society Hotel's lovely staff was nothing but courteous, kind, and so attentive. The hotel is ideally located in a central area and it carries a lot of charm from olden days. The building has been thoughtfully renovated to suit our modern times. My listing had everything I needed for an extremely comfortable stay. {The plush, soft mattress was a plus after long days and I sincerely appreciated the a/c during what turned out to be a very hot week}. The room was squeaky clean and tastefully decorated; it also had nice views of the city (then again, there's also the wonderful rooftop you can visit, should you wish to take in more sights}. The bar and lounge area is so sweet! This was quite a memorable experience. I know where I'm staying during my next trip to Portland! I'm ever grateful, Society. Thank you!

    Nathan2019-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • My experience was great. Booked about week before New Years and was surprised at the affordable price for last minute booking. Communication with the host was quick and straightforward. The home was clean and had everything we needed. Location was great. Getting the keys was a little tricky, but the host did write in detail each step to locate and retrieve the keys. Only thing that was a little disappointing was that parking was not offered, but the price for a one night stay in downtown Portland made up for it. I would recommend this home to others!

    Schick2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • You really get what you see in the picture. Modern and clean apartment. The bed in the room is very comfy. The sofa bed...not the best. That mattress is thin and seems old. The location seems smack dab in the middle of downtown Portland, walking distance to all the tourist spots (Voodoo Doughnuts, Blue Star Donuts, Powell’s, Sizzle Pie, etc.). Lots of eating places around the area along with cute shops and shopping mall(s) like Pioneer Square which has an H&M and Forever 21. Check in/out was a breeze. It’s a really nice apartment building.

  • Very modern, very clean and comfortable. The location is also excellent with many restaurants and stores close by. Washer and dryer were in the apartment which was quite handy. Really the only problem I had was inconsistent heating with the blower often blowing cold air. I would definitely stay here again.

  • This is an absolutely wonderful place. The kitchen has everything you need, the bathrooms are great, with quality fixtures, and the place is so comfy. I hope to return. The location is un-beatable too. Right on the MAX red line (meaning you can conveniently get to/from the airport for $2.50!) and near all kinds of stores, restaurants, great walking, and cafes galore.

  • This is a great spot! I would recommend it to anyone coming into Portland. Easy access to yoga, shops, & restaurants. Great feel to the space. Roof top deck is awesome with beautiful views. I would definitely come back and stay again. 10 out of 10.

  • The Couch9 condos are located in a fantastic location. The apartment was wonderful. The local representative responded quickly when I texted them.
