You’ll be staying in a bright and airy newly renovated 3 bedroom apartment which opens onto a huge back terrace, flooded with sunlight. Your host is me, Steve, a freelance writer and photographer who also works in the wine industry. I have an additional bedroom which is available to Airbnb guests, *please check my other listing if you require two bedrooms. I will be here to greet you, set you up and point out favorite spots and things to do - but then you'll be free to explore on your own!
Your room has exposed brick, morning sun and a queen bed and desk, while the apartment is furnished with washer/dryer and all new appliances.
Red Hook is Brooklyn's fishing village Shangri-la. Local brewery (Other Half), coffee roasters (Nobletree and Stumptown) and chocolate (Rakka and Cacao Prieto) are all within a few blocks of your stay here. Plenty of days you'll wake up to see the Queen Mary 2 docked at the end of the block from your sun drenched back deck, but when you're ready to roam you can hop a bicycle from the Citibike station right on our corner. Pioneerworks - one of the country's most forward reaching creative hubs, blends technology, arts, science and good times just across the street, while you can also bite into nightlife right downstairs at Red Hook's Brooklyn Icehouse or the newly opened San Pedro Inn; live music and booze at the legendary Sunny's or folk sessions at Jalopy Tavern a couple of blocks away. Awaken your taste buds at Grindhaus, Black Flamingo, Kevin's, Rita, Dolce Brooklyn, Baked or Lobster Pound - or wander two blocks to Fort Defiance, Red Hook Tavern or Good Fork for superb cocktails and food, or stop in at or Hometown BBQ for rib busting chow.
  • Great place, amazing location. very resourceful host.

  • I feel guilty that I can only give 5's, if I had known some Airbnb's can be run so well I wouldn't have given any of the other half dozen places I've stayed in Brooklyn over the last 2 months any fives. Not only did Steve's place change my opinion of Airbnb it changed my opinion of New York. As a Midwesterner certain aspects of NYC were getting to me, but Steve's apartment and his neighborhood perfectly represented the idealized TV perception I had of New York. Not only do I highly recommend this place I would suggest to NOT preplan your trip. Red Hook is an amazing neighborhood with it's own things to do there and if you want a true behind the scenes tour of Red Hook or any advice to where you really should go in NYC, then there is no better concierge/tour guide than Steve and his roommate. Between them I believe their circle of friends encompasses ALL of New York. Every sentence seemed to begin with "a friend of mine" and the insight or suggestions to where to go were always spot on.

  • Very accommodating even as we arrived late . Place was nice and clean and we very much enjoyed the rainfall shower head. Very informative as soon as we arrived. Steve let us know about the neighborhoods eats, drinks and sites. Most important he shared his last beer with my husband on arrival! Private balcony to relax or a bar just downstairs if you feel like going out for a cocktail! Great site seeing ideas! Parking was convenient, and ferry just down the road with a great view of the Statue of Liberty. For first time visit to NY, we were a lil anxious and fearful, but Steve took all the worry away by giving us so much info on dos and don’ts of the City! We highly recommend this place!

  • Steve was the perfect host and very accommodating to our unexpected late check in time. He made us feel right at home and took the time to thoroughly orient us to his space and the local neighborhood. His apartment is charming and impeccably clean. Not to mention the best rooftop terrace to relax on before bed or in the morning. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Absolutely perfect experience!

  • Marjorie’s house is a great place to live in Brooklyn. It connects you to everywhere by walking 1 minute to B61 bus stop and then you can transfer to a metro station. The neighbourhood makes me feel safe and comfortable, you can explore in Van Brunt street for really good food (The Good Fork and Fort Defiance) and very lovely stores, and the Fairway Market nearby is also a wonderful experience. You must walk behind the Fairway Market to see the sunset at Red Hook Pier, it was s (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) breathtaking! The house itself is very artistically designed and decorated, waking up in such a cute room in the morning simply makes you feel happy about life. Marjorie is very helpful and friendly, and her place gives a wonderful “local” experience.

  • Super Host for sure. Highly recommend. Clean, beautiful space. The best!

    Sam2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • My stay with Marjorie was great! I wished I booked more nights. Everything was nice and clean. The room was very cozy! Everything you need is near by: supermarket, restaurants, bars. The bus is just 1 min walk away and its super easy to go to Manhattan. I can totaly recommend it!

    Marie2016-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Marjorie was incredibly welcoming and made me feel comfortable. The room was lovely and I had my own bathroom. I loved the neighbourhood (though I didn't explore it too much). I walked most places so I'm not too sure about the local public transport but it seemed to be served by buses and there was a handy subway stop about a mile away. I would definitely recommend this AirBnB to you

    Chloe2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic! Safe, clean, comfortable and in the heart of Red Hook!!

    Sam2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Marjorie has a beautiful apartment and the private bathroom is very good and easy to use. The guest room is used by host; her things are in the closet leaving very limited space for yours, but a 1-2 night stay should work. The bed is a couch and there isn't a mattress, but a pad on it. The covers were unusual and a different size than the bed.

    Marian2017-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Marjorie’s place. Clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. And parking was very easy, during both the day and evening hours. I hope to come back next time I’m in New York.

  • We spent one night at The Lyric hotel. Our room was spectacular. So spacious and clean. We had a vintage record player in the room. We had a king sized bed, living room, kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Brand new vintage style furniture!! The area has plenty of great restaurants with just a little walk to the Seaport area. Many coffee shops, lunch spots and pubs too within a block or two. We had an amazing stay at the Lyric at an exceptionally good price! We would highly recco it.

  • Hard to put into words how much we loved Tone’s place! It was a gem of a find. Located off the beaten path, full of history and amazing people. The apartment is in a building that houses "Sunny's Bar". In fact, you have a private entrance to the bars back patio from within the hallway leading down from the apartment. An amazing little place with so much history and a wonderful crowd of people. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as well as the time we spent at Sunny's. If you're looking for a place that's away from the madness of tourists, Tone's apartment is where you want to be. Be sure to read some of the online articles about the history of Red Hook and of Sunny's Bar...you won't be disappointed. Thanks for a wonderful stay Tone. My wife and I will definitely be back!

    Brian2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Tone's place. The location was terrific with fabulous restaurants near by and a park right across the street we could see the Statue of Liberty from. Fairway's Market right around the corner was the most incredible grocer I've ever seen. Rivals Whole Foods! The apartment was clean and really well thought out. Loved the decor. Great communication and they have Bluegrass jam on Saturday in Sunny's Bar downstairs. Excellent value! Thanks Tone, we'll be back!

    Linda And James2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, incredible view, don’t miss out on Sunny’s bar next door!

    Aubree2019-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place! If you want to hang out in Red Hood, the location is great! There are great views, great restaurants and bars, and lots to see and do right there. The apartment was clean, spacious, light and airy. We particularly loved the two armchairs facing the harbor. Tone was a wonderful host — she responded so quickly to every question that I sent her way. I would definitely stay here again. Oh, and it was a terrific bargain!!!

    Phyllis2018-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment is great. We had everything we needed. Tone was responsive and available when we had questions. We would definitely stay there again. Neighborhood is awesome, great view of the Statue of Liberty. Sunny’s bar downstairs is a blast with amazing locals. Definitely recommend.

    Tiffany2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • It's so nice to be able to see the Statue of Liberty from this place!

    Mark2018-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Real Brooklyn vibe. Everything was clean. Easy to get around with the bus. Tone was a great host, very responsive and sweet. The only thing I had trouble with was I couldn't find a mirror anywhere. So pack a small mirror with you. The bathroom was also part of the kitchen which was weird to me but I guess it's the Brooklyn style. I liked the place a lot, it had a certain old school charm/style to it.

    Diana2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Charming and quirky apartment in the Red Hook area of Brooklyn. Tone (our host) was friendly and helpful. However, the apartment is directly above a bar and, because the apartment is open plan and not extremely sound-proof, it will feel a bit like people are partying in your living room until quite late. Also note that there is not a bathroom as such - the shower and toilet are built into the kitchen. The area is not connected to the subway system so it's not super convenient to get into the city. Ultimately if you want a charming and clean space for a few days, this can be great. But if you're just looking for comfort and convenience, this might not be quite right.

NYC artist welcomes you to the best kept secret in the city. Stay in historic Red Hook, next to the folk music epicenter The Jalopy, and steps from the new Brooklyn Bridge Park. Charming bedroom available in a railroad-style home. Kitchen and bathroom are shared. Cat friendly.
Second floor walk-up in historic Red Hook and next to the Fabulous Jalopy Theatre. Safe, friendly and community oriented. The first floor is also available under my other listing. It is a two-story building with rooms available on both floors, however the spaces are not shared. Each space is identical in layout and amenities. This is a large bedroom on the top floor and the common areas will be shared.
Everybody loves trendy red hook on the Brooklyn waterfront. Great restaurants, bars, shops, parks and views of the Statue of Liberty. And easy bus access or a short walk to the train. A real creative community full of artists and musicians. And there is a complimentary drink for you downstairs at the Jalopy Tavern, my treat!

  • This was my first Airbnb experience and I could not have been more pleased with my stay. The apartment is as advertised. Cozy, eclectic, Brooklyn - at very reasonable price. The room I stayed in had its own window a/c unit which was pretty much the only thing I was worried about in this heat. Access to the roof where I relaxed. I did not meet Jeffrey, but he was very communicative with me from the time I booked the room to the time I left. I met his roommate Sarah, who was a real pleasure to spend time with. I was out all night and came home in the morning. She made us coffee and we hung out until I had to leave for my flight. I couldn't have asked for a better first Airbnb experience. I definitely recommend Jeffrey's (and Sarah!) place, and will look to stay there again when I return to Brooklyn.

  • Definitely going back to that nice spot, Jeffrey is a very nice host, the house look like a little museum, great location, very respectful and very polite people. Super chill cat. • Very clean, way better than expected. With way more amenities than expected. I would recommend this location to any of my friends. As a solo female traveler I never felt unsafe. I will be staying here in the future.

  • Need a spot to hang your hat in style as you explore the big city? This is a great alternative to a cramped hotel. High ceilings and plenty of windows, which open a crack, a bonus! Location: Super close to The East River and trains to everywhere. Grab a Jump bike, or take a ferry to Brooklyn! Amenities: The kitchenette makes a morning coffee or chilled juice easy as you lounge in the sunny room. (Bring your own!) There is a Starbucks and less corporate coffee shop next door. All in all, it may not be sumptuous, think glossy Ikea, but it’s fun and functional, cheerfully and bright.

  • Out of this world! This is the perfect base to explore NYC! The apartment was beautiful and the extra touches like free coffee, free fitness classes, free laundry and impeccable wifi and Bluetooth sound system in the room was beyond what we could have hoped for! • Zelda's place is a perfect spot to stay while exploring Manhattan. The location is easy to find and located at a part where commuting to other parts of the city is a breeze. The space is super clean, comfortable and cozy. Zelda and Lea are great hosts. I look forward to booking with them again in my next stay in NYC.

  • A great place to sleep while visiting NYC!

    James2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Zelda's place was fantastic! The apartment was perfect for our first trip to New York City. Very clean and stylish place with everything we needed. Every little detail is perfectly thought out and space couldn’t be more perfect. The apartment is beautiful, and very much lives up to the photos. Zelda and Lea were very helpful since the beginning, available at all times whenever we had any questions. They gave us some superb recommendations on where to eat and sights to see. It’s definitely been one of our favorite holidays so far, and would definitely recommend it to others! Also, Zelda’s place is at a perfect location, very easy to get around with public transportation and walking distance to many tourist attractions, and it was close to metros to get us to the ones further away. In short, we loved our stay! We felt very comfortable, safe, and the place was very clean. We had a top-notch AirBnB experience, polite and accurate communication combined with elegant and well-located apartment. I’d stay again!

    Trupti2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • First and foremost this is an amazing location with some amazing hosts! I’ve never been to NY but I felt that I was close to everything that my friend and I were searching to do. The space is a 2 bed 1 bath off of Water St and Wall St. The space was very clean and neat. They even had a little welcome card in our room. The bedroom was a little smaller than I was expecting and close to the hosts room. If you’re going with a friend of the same sex I would not recommend booking this together. If you’re going with a significant other you will absolutely enjoy your stay with these two amazing hosts. Zelda and Lea were super friendly, very clean place and always communicated upon leaving and entering. My friend and I ended up getting to NY a bit earlier than expected. Since Lea is at the apartment the majority of the time she accommodated us to drop our bags off a little earlier, before check-in, since it started raining on us. We dropped our bags off and left to the closest bar they recommended (which ended up being the best one of the trip). Zelda and Lea’s place is close to ground zero, all the eating places you can think of, the subway, NY Stock Exchange, the ferry, a few fire houses and numerous bars. Walking distance to these places took less than 10 minutes. Zelda and Lea even recommended a place so my friend and I could watch the Liberty lights on 9/11 right across the east river. It was absolutely one of the highlights of the trip. My overall experience was more than I can describe. I would book this place again if I was taking a significant other or booking by myself. The price is near unbeatable for what you get. Thank you ladies for being great hosts!

  • The room was dusty and the person at check-in was rude because I couldn't find the entry key that was sent to me. Yeah, it was my mistake I didn't know it was on the email, but there was no need to be rude about it when I was nothing but polite.

  • Great location, easy check in & quick responses from host. You can actually see the Statue of Liberty while sitting on the sofa looking out the window. The only issue we had was the cleanliness of the bathroom, otherwise it was a great value and an awesome stay.

  • I loved the apartment. It was located on the 8th floor, with windows that receive much sunlight. The noise of the street is not heard. The three of us were very comfortable. We found everything we expected. On the 4th. Floor there is a friendly Sonder team ready to help and to answer all questions. The location is excellent. There are several supermarkets and the the subway is close by. Battery Park to take the ferries to visit Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty is a 6 minute walk away.

  • We enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was very clean and beautifully decorated. Plenty of space in the living area. Ample windows with natural light. It is on a quiet street that is closed off to traffic which made it very quiet at night for sleeping which was a plus!

  • The Sonder (NYC)’s place is an awesome experience this company has figured it out, what quest want in comfort with affordable pricing! Exactly what I was looking for while working NYC Fashion week! When it come to accommodations, this is a great place to be when staying away from home.. Very clean and modernly appointed made you feel like you had your own cool place in NYC. Comfy bed, fresh linens and everything you need with kitchen, dishes, utensils, washing machine and dryer, this place has all the comforts of home... with extra little touches, made my stay ideal! Location is great for the Financial District.. which for me was the perfect location since I had to be in so many different locations through Manhattan. The only thing for me was, I wish this location wasn’t barricaded.. but that’s not their fault and it was only a 2 minute walk in any direction to hail a cab or Uber.. but great at night because less congested with tourist! Made it feel like a little tucked away village when walking back to your apartment at night. Restaurants and other shopping was close by. We had a issue with the toilet seat that was extremely loose and a bathroom clogged sink. We texted the management and had it fixed by there maintenance crew within an hour.. same with needing bathroom towels and bathroom tissues, garbage bags etc. They responded and resolved any matter promptly and so politely over texting. Will defiantly be using Sonder’s again! Can’t wait to try a different locations next time in NYC. Great job!

    Charles2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • It is a very nice, clean and comfortable apartment. The kitchen has all the necessary kitchenware ( plates, forks, spoons, bowls, glasses, pans). Soaps for the dishwasher, s and washing machine are provided. The bed in the living room is expendable (queen size). The iron works aaaamazing! The location is very convenient. It is very close the 9/11 Memorial, the Bull and other touristy places in the area, but it is not too crowded. Be aware that you will not be able to get to the entrance with the car and you will have to find a parking somewhere because it is not provided. We enjoyed our stay there and hope you do as well.

Luxurious Boutique Studio in Charming Red Hook, Brooklyn. This is a small seaside village, 10 minutes by car or 18 minutes by ferry from downtown Manhattan. Everyone falls in love with Red Hook, and this is in the best part of the village. It is surrounded by truly great restaurants, artisanal distilleries, chocolatiers, breweries and wine makers. This apartment is super quiet, is 2 blocks from the river park, 2 blocks from best bar in NY, 3 blocks from Ferry to Manhattan. Easy parking!
I approached creating this apartment as an art piece. I built it from the floor joists up to be a luxurious, sensual and beautiful experience, catering to the discriminating guest who enjoys tasteful reclaimed rustic charm, coupled with refined and modern touches. Every vintage lightbulb is on a dimmer, I personally handmade the reclaimed wood bathroom vanity, using floor joists from this building. I sourced a vintage porcelain sink and a huge antique cast Iron soaking tub built for two, and installed an on-demand water heater to make sure there is endless hot water to fill the tub. I installed 100 year old Eastern White Pine reclaimed wood floors, also salvaged from this building, a brand new high-end kitchen, a Restoration Hardware bed, luscious bed linens, and a fantastic handmade glass chandelier. The apartment faces east and get great light and sunrises. Everything about this place is designed to bring pleasure and satisfaction to the guest.
Red Hook is a destination neighborhood, with a small number of really amazing restaurants, adorable coffee shops, art galleries, cute shops, and the best bar in NYC (Sunny's. Shhh....don't tell anyone). There is also a, brand new mega Fairway supermarket three blocks away. Red Hook is in the process transforming from an industrial fishing village to one of Brooklyn's most sought after addresses. There are many artists and art centers here, including Pioneer Works, just down the street, which is an incredible space and always has interesting things happening, and pretty much only cool, interesting and nice people are to be found here.
  • Check out the very interesting neighborhood.

  • From check in to check out just a 5 star experience. Tom's place is spotless, cozy and comfortable. Mattress gave me the best nights sleep in a long time. Neighborhood has groceries, wine shop and a wonderful market closer to the tip of "redhook". Parking was a breeze as well. Just book it!

A large studio apartment on a quiet street in beautiful, hip Red Hook. Walk to the best spots including fantastic restaurants, coffee shops, great wine stores, Pioneer Works cultural center, ferries to Manhattan and our waterfront park with Statute of Liberty & Manhattan views. Take a ferry to beautiful Governor's Island park or tour the upper bay. The apartment is ideal for couples or small families who want to chill out in a great neighborhood with easy access to transportation to Manhattan.
Our space offers a very comfortable queen sized bed and a separate room with a couch/bed that easily sleeps one adult or two children. There is an area for sitting to read or relax. We offer a full kitchen with all the amenities including dishes, glasses, mugs, pots, pan, utensils, coffee maker & microwave oven. We provide your morning coffee and milk, which you can enjoy at our counter bar with stools. The bathroom is small, but has all you need to freshen up. The second room can be used for sitting on the couch and chatting or chilling out. It also provides privacy if three people are in the apartment.
Red Hook is a unique neighborhood and there's really nothing else like it in NYC. There are some really excellent restaurants, Fairway Market and several good coffee shops, all within walking distance. We have a new ferry boat less than two blocks from the apartment that will take you Manhattan. Great views can be had at the Valentino Pier where you can picnic with a view of the Statue of Liberty & lower Manhattan. You really don't need to leave the neighborhood to have a great experience!
  • Very nice cozy athmosphere in the apartment, you get everything you’ll need and clean. Lovely space! Better service in cleaning the trash and new towels after a couple of days could be a tip!

The kitchen was fantastic and had all the your basic needs to make meals. Also nice a touch- there is a Brita Water filter so you can use your reusable water bottle.

  • This Airbnb experience was lovely! We were 3 people - a couple plus one - and the bed setup was perfect. Beds are comfy and separated by a wall for some privacy even though it's a studio apartment. The decor is very bright and lively and the kitchen is actually quite big. They have coffee you can brew and even an iron and board which came in handy for us, plus smaller things that are nice to have like a hairdryer and hangers. Centrally located in Red Hook which turned out to be a very cool neighborhood, and they provided suggestions of good places to go nearby which we followed and really enjoyed. There's a close Citi Bike station too which was fun and convenient. Highly recommend!

Spacious bedroom at Luxury Rental with great views in a 57-story Art Deco building at the Financial District of Lower Manhattan. In-house gym & lounge. Next to all principal subway lines. East exposure — you get lots of sun :)
Fresh clean linens and towels, high ceilings and outstanding views of the East side and Brooklyn will make this space a special retreat in the city.
This is the oldest part of Manhattan where one can easily walk from the East River to The Hudson in minutes. Transportation of every kind is at your doorstep – all subways and busses, the Fulton Transit Hub, Path trains, water taxis, NY Waterways and a heliport are steps away.
  • Really nice apartment! It is located very central with a nice view. You can find everything you need in the room and we had our own bathroom. Only the ventilation system from somewhere in the neighborhood has been very noisy, but you can stand that. Daniel and Christine are very friendly, so we would recommend their apartment :-)

  • Daniel's place is in a great location, the subway is less than 2 minutes walk away for the 2 and 3.....the J and Z is another minute or so further, so getting around is a breeze. Very safe area, we got back to the room after midnight every night and never felt uncomfortable. Room was clean with a great view. Also, having our own bathroom was a definite plus.

  • Central location suitable for any movement, very beautiful apartment and room with amazing views and very comfortable bed.

  • Very agreable place very nice views very central just perfect

    Philippe2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • The airbnb is very close to the metro and high up. you have a beautiful view. we weren't sure if Daniel was at home the whole time we stayed there. But he answered to our questions very fast. so it was really easy going, that worked out for us. it was not very very clean but okay.

    Marion2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • His place was great. My husband and I spent our 15 year anniversary in NYC. Daniel’s place is conveniently located in the FiDi and within a block to the subway, which allows you to get to any of the sites quickly. The view is amazing, overlooking the Hudson. The bed is super comfy, even for two people. The private bathroom is a plus! Daniel is easy to communicate with and also helped us out with a late checkout due to our plane being delayed. We would totally stay here again!

  • Excellent place to stay. Staff was helpful and made it an easy stay

    Calvin2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gimmick! The rooms are dark and barely any sunlight. The housekeeping is terrible. The sink has no space to keep any vanity items. We where given only one towel between two people. And once we complained we got our room freshened after 4 hours. I would never stay there.

    Afshan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend lyric. They responded to everything I needed immediately. Our AC broke and they upgraded our room immediately after the maintenance guy (Luis) responded in less than 5 minutes. Nothing but great things to say.

Spaceful studio apartment in the heart of Financial District.
Spaceful studio apartment with high ceilings, two little balconies and fully equipped kitchen. Large bathroom with full tub. The bed is a tall high quality air bed. Due to personal reasons I CANNOT provide a real bed, please if you don’t like air beds or it is uncomfortable for you to sleep on them, do not book my place, because I can not provide a regular bed!!! It is not a doorman building. First floor but has 16 steps from the ground. Even though the place has balconies the view unfortunately is not great, the apartment is on the first floor so it is street level and the balconies face the across the street building. You will also have to keep in mind that it is Manhattan and so it can get noisy outside. You may bring your pet with you, the building is very dog friendly. Unfortunately the apartment is not babyprooved so I can't host guests with little kids. I would prefer long stays. NOTE! Dear AirBnB guests, I encourage you to be honest, if you are planning to travel with a second person, please book the place for two NOT FOR ONE guest, there are cameras in a hallway and I can check out how many people are entering or leaving the apartment. Let’s respect each other. NOTE!! Dear future guests, my checkout is at 10am. I understand that it may be early but I DO NOT provide luggage storage! You will have to checkout at 10am with the luggage. Please plan accordingly. DEAR FUTURE GUETS! If you have an issue with either noise or absence of a great view or a necessity to sleep on an air bed PLEASE don’t book my place! I’m trying to be a good host but there are some things I have no power of, I want my guests to be happy and enjoy staying at my place but I don’t want the above mentioned issues to reflect in reviews because as I said I can’t do anything about them.
plenty of bars and restaurants around, NY stock exchange historical building, Staten Island Ferry, Battery Park, some museums. Brookfield Mall, Westfield Mall, World Trade Center and Oculous in walking distance,

  • The apartment was much better than I expected. Clean and spacious. Great location at financial district near many sights and subway. Alena was a wonderful host.

    Terho2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Alena is a total delight of a host - thoughtful, fun, communicative, eager to answer any questions that might make your stay even a little better. Her place is as advertised, both in her own descriptions and the other traveler reviews, and, whether in location, layout, or cute/cool/useful added little amenities, it fit what I needed perfectly. There is no particular need to consider another place if you'll be staying in Lower Manhattan/Financial District. If/when I return, the answer will be pretty obvious. Thanks for your hospitality, Alena! It was a great trip/stay. :)

    Eric2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great neighborhood!

  • Alena’s place was great! She was so accommodating. Our flight was delayed by hours and she waited patiently for us to arrive. Once we made it there she was so friendly and showed us around the apartment in detail. Everything was very clean and just as described! Definitely recommend staying at Alena’s to anyone.

Your room faces south onto a side street, has afternoon sun, a new queen bed and desk, while the apartment is furnished with a washer/dryer and all new appliances.
  • Steve’s place was the best AirBnb I’ve ever stayed at. He was so friendly and knowledgeable of the area and it’s history. Place was spotless, room had its own AC and the location was so convenient. Will def be booking again!

  • Great place. Beautiful room Bathroom and room clean! Super modern! Def a place to stay! I’ll come back for sure

    Daniel2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was even better than I expected. We booked this somewhat last minute and had some others that we were considering booking. Chose this one due to price at the time. And I have no complaints. Upon arrival we were able to easily find the Lyric office. The guy at the desk was extremely helpful and welcoming. Once we made it into our room I think we both had the same reaction, “Wow”. Everything was so well put together, clean, and modern. You couldn’t hear anything from other rooms or anything like that. It’s NY, so you will have some noise. The specific unit that we stayed in was right next to the elevators so you could hear that a bit. In the mornings was when I noticed it the most, it wasn’t anything crazy though. Overall, a great experience and I’m looking forward to booking with Lyric again.

    Anthony2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a modern and classy location LYRIC is your place. The staff is very friendly and thoughtful. They do not hesitate to help you out in any way you need. My girlfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary and were more than pleased.

    Shane2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lyric at 70 Pine was a great Airbnb. There’s a lot of amenities on the first floor of the building like a market, coffee shop, etc, which was very convenient. The staff answered our messages very promptly and were courteous at check in/out. The Airbnb itself was really comfortable and the area it’s in makes it easy to get around lower Manhattan for nightlife, etc. I highly recommend it for an easy stay.

  • Great place to stay!

    Robyn2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really cute hotel! Try not to get a room on the same level as the terrace as drunk loud guests frequent it at night time. Other than that, it’s super cute and has lots of fun amenities such as free laundry, huge kitchen, and games. I would definitely recommend.

    Christine2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, nice facilities in the building.

    Maxim2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic studio, large with a comfortable bed. Super clean. The building has a rooftop deck for sitting and grilling, with a hot tub which was super nice. We were able to use the speakers in the apartment to play music off our phone, and when we checked-out the front desk held our luggage until our bus left 6 hours later. Only thing I can say is bring your own towels, because they do not supply them. 5/5 stars overall

My place is close to Fairway Supermarket, The Good Fork Restaurant, Sunny's Bar, and Hometown BBQ. You’ll love my place because it's a clean and spacious apartment with an outdoor patio and central air. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and furry friends (pets).
The is a large living/dining room full of natural light looking out on the private cobblestone patio. The bedroom is downstairs (no light) which makes it great for sleeping in. The full bathroom is upstairs and there is also a half bath downstairs.
I think this is the best neighborhood in Brooklyn. The old cobblestone streets lead you to some amazing restaurants and local bars. The views of the Statue of Liberty and the Trade Center are spectacular. Particularly during sunset. There is now a ferry less than a 10 minute walk that takes you right down to Wall Street.
  • Justin's place is great, an awesome value in a good neighborhood. Parking nearby is easy, communication was great, and it was a super straightforward and comfortable stay. Justin was super helpful to accommodate my late and early arrival and departure times. Would recommend!

    Katie & Hagan2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Listing was as described, very central location in Red Hook, close to bus stop. Justin is great, a very friendly host, and his reponses to our questions were lightning fast! Very clean space with everything you need for a short stay.

    Isabelle2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to stay in Red Hook this a great place. If you're planning on going to a show at Pioneer Works this is the perfect place. Justin is great, he was quick to respond to any inquiries. The apartment is very clean, the bed is extremely comfortable, and everything is provided for you. The apartment is in a very convenient part of Red Hook. There is a nice breakfast place right on the corner, there is a grocery store just down Van Brunt that has excellent prepared food. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Red Hook!

    Kyle2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Justin's place met all my expectations and then some. Will definitely look to stay there again if I'm back in the area.

    Kyle2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Justin’s place was perfect! I have to say, Sunny’s is now my new favorite NY bar. This was my first time in Red Hook and I was not disappointed. Just a couple blocks from the pier, with an amazing view of Lady Liberty and NYC. Bus stop right around the corner, historical cobblestone roads, very quiet and low key. Will definitely be back!!

    Heather2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Justin’s place is clean, affordable and easy to get to in the heart of Red Hook. He’s a quick communicator and the whole experience was a breeze. Having Fairway and a few great coffee shops nearby makes launching into the day a breeze, and taking the ferry into the city or elsewhere in Brooklyn was an awesome and unexpected addition to the trip. Would absolutely stay here again!

    Luca2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Justin's home is a little Red Hook gem. The location is close to food/shops on Van Brunt Street and close to the new ferry (!) stop that will take you out to Bay Ridge or to Wall Street. His home is neat and tidy -- there is no living room or lounging area per se -- so definitely more of a pied-à-terre -- perfect for us and anyone who really needs just a place to sleep while they visit friends/family or explore the City. We didn't get to meet Justin while we were there but he was very responsive to any questions we had. We had a little trouble when we first arrived -- which may have been our own user error -- and he responded quickly and solved our issue right away. We would definitely recommend staying at Justin's and would like to stay there again.

    Yura2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you are planning on staying at this location, the rooms are large for NYC spartan and the location is in a no car high security zone and if you have more than one small bag, it's not the place for you. The dryer in my room did not work. The bed was fair in comfort.

    Lyn2019-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • A very convenient location. However, we were disappointed at how slowly Sonder responded to our request to pick up the trash that was left by the previous guest. The cleaning staff failed to come the next day to clean our place. The implementation on the customer service portion clearly needs some training/work.

    Mary2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • The location and space were fantastic. The room looked just like the photos, was very clean and comfortable. The coffee, shampoo and conditioner were nice touches. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there was no flexibility with early check in or a place to leave luggage. We were in town for a bike ride that started early in the morning. The luggage lockers did not open until 11:00am and our back packs were prohibited on the ride. I never did receive a reply to an alternate luggage locker, so we had to do research and figure things out. If you don't need any flexibility, then I would highly recommend this place. I will stay again when I'm in town just for fun.

  • I brought my daughter to NYC for her 16th Birthday and we wanted a place in the financial district to be close to my brother. This apartment was more than we expected!! They went above and beyond for us. As we arrived they brought a hand written card and a gift to our apartment for daughter's birthday. All the staff were wonderful and the most friendly! The apartment was bigger than the pictures show. It was very clean and beautiful. We will be staying here again the next time we are in NYC! Thank you for a wonderful place to stay for a week!

  • Our stay was short, but the amenities, location and cleanliness provided to us during our stay here definitely will have me us coming back and staying here for a much longer time period in the near future.

  • Highly recommend staying here! Subway was very close to apartment. Sonder team always responded quickly to all my questions. Great stay overall!

  • Very great place to stay!

    Donte2019-05-29T00:00:00Z

A clean, bright and spacious one bedroom apartment located in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn. A great place to stay and enjoy a real NYC experience. Surrounded by authentic history, hip bars and cool restaurants all within walking distance. Ride the B61 bus and be in downtown Brooklyn in 10 minutes or walk a few blocks and ride the Water Taxi to Manhattan and really enjoy a great NYC experience. All are welcome. Come to NYC and have some fun!!
My place is like a cool and cozy bed and breakfast in the middle of everything!!!
Red Hook is a great Brooklyn neighborhood. Restaurants, bars mass transit and super cool public spaces are all in walking distance.
  • Anthony was a great host who was committed to making sure we were as comfortable as possible. He was very communicative, but also gave us our privacy. His place is clean, and exactly as pictured. We had everything we needed to have a fun and relaxing time in the city. We will definitely stay here again.

    Erin2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We appreciated that this place was a good value in an up & coming neighborhood with places to eat and explore nearby (check out the Pioneer bookstore and Pioneer Park), while still quiet enough to have a peaceful stay and find easy parking. It's not the "hipster" part of Brooklyn (more warehouses than cafes) but it will be soon! Anthony clearly makes an effort to accommodate guests, including water in the fridge and quick booking communication.

  • We had a really good time in Anthony place and enjoyed red hook... So calm and cool. And easy to join Manhattan by boat, Buses at two blocks... All was easy with Anthony ! Good place

  • Anthony is by far one of the best hosts I have experienced on AirBnB. In addition, his service is top notch, and personality is amazing. Thank you Anthony!

    Salvatore2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very cozy and clean place to stay. Anthony provided all the things we needed and more. There were coffee capsules, snacks, and a lot of bottles of water. There was plenty of household items, so we could cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner everytime we wanted. The apartment is near supermarkets, and also 15 minutes walking from the Smith-9th St. subway station (F line), so we could easily go to Manhattan. Certainly would stay there again.

    André2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Very convenient. Very comfortable. Anthony was very helpful.

    Amy2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is located in the Red Hook Neighborhood of Brooklyn. It is an interesting neighborhood that has restaurants and mini marts (called bodegas) very close. There is the B61 bus but you need a metro card prior to boarding the bus, which can be tricky unless you are at a subway station. Finding the subway station you need in downtown Brooklyn takes some work. Uber is going to best option so budget the cost of the rides. There is a full kitchen but no place to eat if you have more than two people. The beds are comfortable and the flat is relatively clean. The bathroom is tight but be flexible, it’s NYC. The host lives at the location (downstairs) if you have questions.

Fishgrala and its surroundings will make you happy you stayed! Surrounded by the vibrant Red Hook community, you're only 30 minutes by foot, ferry, or rail to lower Manhattan. Red Hook is a small, creative community with a small-town feel that offers visitors a quiet sanctuary within NYC. Located 2-3 blocks from Pioneer Works, Liberty Warehouse, Formula E racetrack, Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.
Our space features: - bright, open, spacious common area with sofa and dining area - large fully-appointed kitchen with dishwasher - peaceful outdoor private garden during the warm months - washer/dryer in apartment - 2nd floor walk up in small 3-floor building - multiple unique local bars and restaurants within 5 minute walk Your guest area includes: - private, quiet, rear-facing bedroom (plus earplugs and white noise machine for people not accustomed to sounds the urban jungle!) - real queen bed, medium-firm mattress - adjacent PRIVATE full bathroom with double shower heads, stocked with toiletries and towels - Roku, cable TV, Wifi, plenty of outlets for your electronics - large dresser and hangers for your things - a comfy wicker chair and some interesting books for relaxing and recharging
Red Hook Red Hook certainly has all the familiar ingredients of a neighborhood on the verge: quirky local favorites such as Jalopy Music theater bar and grill presents live music with food and drink 5 nights a week, its one block from the apartment and absolute gem. Sunny’s (the waterfront bar with bluegrass bands) and charming start-ups like Grindhaus (chef-inspired gourmet dinner) and the Good Fork (a beloved Korean-influenced restaurant). The neighborhood, a former refuge for artists in exile, had started drawing the typical next-wavers: the self-employed and fresh young couples with tricked-out strollers, walking along the refurbished Valentino Pier or hanging out at the bakery Baked. In some ways, Red Hook was a Realtor’s dream, boasting Manhattan views, a salty maritime history (working piers! Brawling sailors!), and a brochure-ready name, all of which would play perfectly on some theoretical condo prospectus. Seeking waterfront living with a dusting of urban grit? Then drop your anchor in Red Hook! Carroll Gardens (within walking distance) The neighborhood is brimming with cafes, bars, restaurants, bakeries, butchers, cheesemongers; everything that anyone who enjoys food could possibly want. Some of our favorites are: Buttermilk Channel (brunch), Bar Bruno (Mexican), Frankie’s (Italian), Mile End (Jewish/Canadian), Lucali (pizza), Farmacy (ice-cream), Black Mountain Wine Bar (charcuterie and wine), Rucola (farm-to-table), Local 61 (Beer Bar), Le Petite Crevette (seafood). I personally have lived all over New York and this is by far my favorite place. A short walk will get you to the base of the Brooklyn Bridge where you can walk to lower Manhattan taking in magnificent views. Your walk will take through the incredible Brooklyn Bridge Park, which offers a variety of activities, volleyball, soccer , outdoor BBQ and running paths with weekly outdoor movie nights in the summer months.
  • This place is great. Clean, comfy, decked out with all of the essentials. Has everything you need within the apartment as well as tips and pointers about local eateries and venues. Owners are responsive and courteous. Would def stay here again.

  • The room was comfortable and clean and the red hook area is quiet but you can still find things to do. The b61 bus is really close. And the cats Ives and scrabbles are super cute and friendly.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Blue and Elli's apartment. Van Brunt St. in Red Hook is a great home base for going out in the area, taking the ferry, and exploring Brooklyn and Manhattan on our bicycles. The room is as advertised, cozy but with room enough for two people to move about and get ready for the day. The private bathroom, rear patio and easy on street parking are a huge plus! We enjoyed meeting Blue and Ellie and would stay at their place again.

    Susan2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. Blue and Ellie are experienced hosts and everything goes like clockwork. The bedroom and bathroom are total comfort.

  • Privacy was what I wanted in an Airbnb experience earlier this month. That is what I got. The host never introduced himself to us, or answered my text when I wanted to confirm a check-in. Regardless, everything in the listing is accurate. The bathroom has two shower heads, and ample towels. I would recommend booking this room.

    Natalia2018-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Blue and Elli were kind and responsive hosts! They’re apartment is in the perfect location if you’re looking to stroll down Van Brunt st of Red Hook. Thanks again!

  • Another comfortable stay at Blue's place. You may find Red Hook out-of-the-way, but IMO it's worth the trouble. Peaceful neighborhood, comfortable room and a great host. Thanks Blue!

    Mike2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Blue is friendly and easy to communicate with. The apartment is comfortable, cosy and close to many cafes, restaurants and bars in the Red Hook area. Convenient location for exploring Brooklyn and the city.
